The most hilarious part about it is that an author recently said she wrote it, and that she's half native american and she was in the foster system and spent a long time searching for her long lost brother. She said she wrote my Immortal as a goof. Turns out, she's a dirty liar, she's 100% white and her brother was never missing at all. She never wrote My Immortal either.

While most Sonic fanfics are in contemporary times and involve Sonic's relantionship with humans, my fanfics are set in a world where there are no humans, but himan-like creatures - such as Eggman - do exist.
To summarize, Sonic and his friends( I try to put all the characters from the Sonic world and I also create some) are threatened by a evil interdimensional force that tries to disturb their world in order to seek the chaos emeralds. Our heroes need to stop it from happening and deal with their own problems at the same time.
The villains are based off of real-life "villains" like politicians, dictators and more.

I don't believe her story, but I do believe that My Immortal was written by an actual writer and not a 12-year old girl. There's too much detail in the jokes/"typos" for it not to be.

Wrong. I try to look into characteristics of real-life evil individuals and try to pass them unto new Sonic villains that could fit the narrative. Hitler would make no sense in the Sonic World, but his manners could be adapted of course.

Following my post , I also have other MLP fanfics printed, cf picture (I already posted it on here several months ago so it will not be unknown to some Veeky Forumsfag).

I have read a lot of fanfics, but even before the internet was popularized, I used to make up stories about my favourite cartoons and video games. I remember thinking about tons of Sonic transformations so when Sega stopped producing hardwares due to the failure of tge Dreamcast and started to release Sonic for Nintendo/Sony and Microsoft plataforms I started to think about the many crossover that could happen between Sonic and other characters. Few years later, Sonic is on SSB, Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games and Sonic also appeared at at rip-off of SSB for the Sony consoles. The transformations of Sonic Unleashed were already in my mind since the first time I played Sonic 2 and manage to turn into Super Sonic, I felt as of they had somehow read my stories.

We first gather a list of people being interested in a print, then score a deal with a professional printer.
Afterwards, we split the quote among the people who signed up plus shipping and voilà!

This. It's schlock but it's schlock that I felt obliged to see through to the end.
The beginning is really not great but after a while the writer got into the swing of things and started to actually do decent work.

I read an embarrassing amount of HP fanfiction. Here's a few recommendations:

Sort of a fandom classic, written after the fourth book, has a great canon feel and good dialogue.

Slytherin!Harry divergence that actually feels believable.

>Applied Cultural Anthropology
Same as above but with Hermione.

>Resurrexit
A horror/mystery story with some genuine tension and good writing. Deals with soul-splitting and madness.

>The Unforgiving Moment
Action-packed writing, possibly too grim for its own sake, but an interesting canon divergence leading to tragedy.

>A Long Journey Home
In-progress story about an immortal character who's lived through history. Possibly my favorite in the fandom.

Post-epilogue Harry/Hermione story, one of the only romances I'd categorically recommend. Good character voice and dubious rationalizing of marital infidelity, dangerous infatuation etc. Sadly seems to be abandoned though.

Canon-compliant and written from the standpoint of a muggle. Northumbrian is the single best writer of unapologetic family fluff and canon continuation. In-progress.
