Foucault often criticized Marxism saying "Marxism exists in nineteenth-century thought as a fish exists in water; that is, it ceases to breathe anywhere else." but what alternatives did he give?

Why don't you read him and find out instead of making inane threads?

Being gay

Not being a Marxist?

Why are you here then? You could just be reading

It is not that Marx is irrelevant after the nineteenth century so much as his language and economic examples belong to the time.

Marx is relevant in the 21st century, but his thought needs to be updated to account for the present developments in automation, legislation, fabrication, censorship, entertainment, propaganda, state violence, state corruption, private sector violence, private sector corruption, proletarian violence, proletarian corruption, religion, medicine, drugs, simulation, pedagogy, literacy, linguistics, etc.

Any political philosophy which will grip the 21st and 22nd centuries will ideally take these things into account, synthesize them with practice, avoid the traps marxism fell into, and will synthesize both Libertarian (anti-government) and Socialist (anti-private-sector) thought.

Foucault never identified as being gay

Is that a pipe?

They are smoking the hash Foucault was given for debating Chomsky that one time.

I need to spend some time each day reporting and sageing non lit threads, so that when I ask for a literature recommendation the entire board won't be stupid politics bait

Good luck with that

Oh, so that was why he was constantly haranguing him with goofy, incredulous expressions. Makes a lot of sense

good past hunny

Read Mishima

Its probably not that far-fetched to think he was offered some before hand. I think Foucault would have wanted to present himself clearly though.

I don't think Foucault was as much as a reactionary as Mishima

Couldn't you say the same thing about the United States' system of government? It's a product of the Enlightenment and the ideas and theories that were believed true at the time.

Couldn't you say it about a lot of things, really?

>but what alternatives did he give?

Alternatives are for modernist fags.
