Yes, this is true to some extend. AKP supporters tend to like their Ottoman heritage more than their Turkish heritage. And seeing how Atatürk brought an end to the Ottomans, he is not liked, but not hated either since he liberated Turkey. Secularism in Turkey will never end, the only way it could would be in a brutal civil war. While every political party strives for different goals, Atatürk and his legacy are almost sacred, similiar to lets say the Declartion of Independence.
