Boomers are the subject of such popular hatred from the right because they enjoyed all the comforts of the New Deal, becoming the comfiest generation to ever live. So we have to all convince ourselves that these people are the reason we cannot expect to enjoy the same benefits, and not the legislators of the past 60 years who have been gutting the social safety net, killing unions, labor movements, and dismantling social security. This is the reason. It's political, like so many things are, not generational. Whatever that's supposed to mean.
