Perhaps, but libéré better reflects the raw emotion of the new state of the tiger seen in the original English. Libre is used when you have no plans for a day, while libéré is used when a slave is unchained.

Ah, but this is where I believe you are incorrect. Nael's genius in the last line is not in harnessing the tiger's energy in his words. He could have used unchained or uncaged or released or even free, but he uses out. It is a word that by itself does not evoke imagery or emotion, but in its simplicity, it gives the entire story a fitting end. It's the banality of the act that strikes you. This is why I translated it as:

Being surrounded/occupied by all sorts of slavs for 1000 years tends to leave a mark.
It's hard to keep the rhythmic structure of the poem without significantly changing its meaning.
I opted to preserve the meaning, while adapting the structure to Romanian language poetic formalisms.

Because that is what "the tiger is out" means, that the tiger is free from captivity. "Sortir" (to exit) has different connotations in French.

Whether or not you consider that the meaning of "out" here refers to the notion of freedom, "le tigre est parti" is not a good translation. That's "the tiger is gone".
Now if you were to go with "libre", you wouldn't use either or these (not "libre" because it's uncomfortably close to "tigre", and not "est libéré", not only because it's unusual but also because it implies that another agent freed the tiger). You would say "le tigre s'est libéré" or "le tigre est en liberté". The latter is overall the most accurate translation.
