The Joys of Nihilism

What are the benefits of nihilism?
Does it remove angst?
Does it resolve confusion?
Does it promote depth and intellectual honesty?
Does it build character?
Does it create a tendency towards introspection?
Does it promote empathy and understanding?

all of those are spooks #owned

non of those matter

Nihilism takes the idea of intrinsic purpose and rather than explaining why the idea is wrong, it convinces people to feel a certain way (usually depression) while philosophizing. Philosophy isn't supposed to be tainted with the feelings of the people coming up with the ideas.

Why does purpose not exist (or rather intrinsic purpose)? Because purpose is used describe why humans perform certain actions, or to show what they intended to happen as a result of something they or someone else did. Because god doesn't exist, a purpose of the universe doesn't exist. That shouldn't be a surprising nor enlightening conclusion, but for some reason even non-brainlets fall into the trap that nihilism is about being depressed and that nothing matters--both of which are illogical conclusions that should not have been drawn from this discussion, but they are anyway.

it allows you to kill yourself and leave this pit of misery

no

Out! Get out froggeposter!!! You do not belong here frogman!

Any possible benefits are null once you die so there are no actual benefits.

Speaking of illogical conclusions, did you just say the universe has no purpose because God doesn't exist? Because oh boy

>Does it build character?
Yes, but it is like demolishing Taj Mahal and building a sand cube in its place.
