Foucault once wrote "Marxism exists in nineteenth-century thought as a fish exists in water; that is, it ceases to breathe anywhere else."

What did he mean by that and which philosophy would be more suited for the 21st century?

>dude death of metanarratives
This sums it up.

>would be more suited for the 21st century
post-modernism and syncretic indigenous naturalism

>which philosophy would be more suited for the 21st century?
a reversion to Athenian democracy

I'm not kidding.

But... but muh postmodern neo-marxists....

...

>*starts calling you a nazi-fascist-sexist-racist-russian-transphobic shill because of your supposed political beliefs because someone in the media said that's what that image represents but too lazy to read any books about that*

Shut up, dumb piece of shit. Foucault wasn't a fascist. Just because he renounced to the communist party because they weren't real communist doesn't mean he wasn't a real communist himself.

>it wasn't REAL communism
shut up

It's never real communism, man. The other guy is right, though. On the other hand, everything that isn't communism/cultural marxism is FASCIST. Yeah, you heard that right. Therefore [random pedophile french philosopher] can't stop being a communist otherwise he'll become a FASCIST. You're btfo. Now vote for [pro illegal immigration party].

Egoism

Honestly, this. Foucault was a leftist philosopher and the right isn't going to take him away from us just because some quotes without context.

died a liberal
looks like dying fags dont even want to be commies lmao

He meant that, by the end of his life, he became a fucking gay neoliberal.

(He was gay, but being a gay neoliberal gives you AIDS)

you’re fucking idiots the rightwing isn’t trying to take the AIDS lizard away from you all for fuck’s sake

You're trying too hard, cunt bitch.

Radical centrism. No allegiance to anything except neutrality.

Are you implying they're not btfo? Yeah they are. LET THAT SINK IN. They're all fascists sexists racists that don't know how real communism is like.

It's funny how pretending to be a retarded leftist really makes people think you're not being ironic and you genuinely mean the absurd shit you say.
That only proves there's no limit to the mental degeneracy of a libtard. Anything can be genuine. Postmodernity really is the peak of subjective thought and abstraction.

>when you prank your body into smoking a bowl of aids

>which philosophy would be more suited for the 21st century
unconditional accelerationism

>What did he mean by that
Maybe that marxian analysis depends on the specific conditions of 19th century second ind. rev. liberal capitalism; outside these conditions it can't explain or predict accurately i.e. it's outdated for the conditions of post-war capitalism.
On a non-critical interpretation it could mean that marxism is the only system (in retrospective) that comprehensively explains and offers an alternative to the 19th century as it happened

The 90s called

He's wrong. The fish continues to breath, it simply fails to get the necessary oxygen.

The reason fascism thrived in industrial-cultural powerhouses while socialism languished in decayed agrarian wastelands is because it was more modern than socialism, which is ironically antiquated. Of course, what modern day 'fascists' fail to realise is that they're committing the same anachronism.

The oxygen being a Europe filled with a mass of low skilled industrial workers.

Only place communism might take off is Bagladesh or something,

Shut up, dumb piece of shit. Real fascism has never been tried.

From what I know Foucault began to drift towards Neoliberalism sometime after his LSD trip in Death Valley. He realised that by pushing polymorphous sexual liberation they could cure societies neurosis and achieve this best through capitalism. The social state that was forming at that in France in tandem with capitalism was something he believed achieved the aims of communism but through different methods.
