I took a Veeky Forums class on modernism this semester. And of course being English the demographic is 80% female to 20% male ratio. But anyways this one group of females would always just shit talk the teacher before class started. And they were always complaining about how all the books went over their heads. Women are shit. The only thing they can do when they get together is shit talk other women or just complain about "how hard" their lives are.

Me and my friends talk about politics, art, culture, history, psychology and philosophy while drinking and playing Rocket League and watching Trailer Park boys. I've never met a woman who does that outside of the presence of men. Every conversation I've ever walked in on even with artsy, smart "i'm not like the others" girls is exceedingly shallow and often vulgar in nature.

And you would know this how considering you aren't there? When I was at uni I met more interesting girls than guys. The uni I went to was maybe 3/5 female. So there were plenty of interesting women but most of the guys were drinking engineer types. I think you just hang out in the wrong circles.

For me there is a difference between shallow talk on these subjects and having a real in-depth conversation with someone who has majored in a subject. The idea of drunken talk about half baked understandings of things while playing video games sounds extremely normie. It sounds exactly the same as being with drunken car enthusiast or something similar.

It is incredibly normie. Especially the video games. I usually get accused of name dropping to appear deep when in reality all I'm trying to do is work from an established, clearly delineated conception rather than just piss in the dark and hope it lands on someone else's shoe. I have actually been accused of making up the word "noumenon."

But I think having a drunk conversation about philosophy with someone who has read any would probably be fun.

I'm not bashing you or saying what you do is stupid, sans Trailer Park Boys (I can't stand that show) and Rocket League (never grabbed me) I do the exact same thing. I just think it's important to know that it actually isn't any better than Stacies drunkenly talking about makeup or Chads talking about cars. The drunken meme history conversations are just as idle and vapid, they just have a thin veneer of intelligence.
I like history but I don't think that necessarily makes me a better or more interesting person than someone who doesn't. I would a hundred times rather talk to someone who was really passionate and knowledgeable about almost anything than a shallow conversation from a pseud who likes the same things as me.
