As much as I disagree with the public school curriculum, I would never homeschool my kid. That's a recipe for a fucking nut and kids need their own space/lives.
My kids are still very young and my parents are rich, so when the latter kick the bucket I'll put some of the inheritance away for private school. I just want my kids to have a good education and not lose their edge in life; to be competitive and not self-entitled, to have a survival instinct.

I was homeschooled and turned out OK. It took me some time to become well adjusted, but par contre my basic education is way better than anything I could ever get here in Sweden.

Where do you live? I would rather send my children to a good alternative school, like Montessori (even there are problems there, too). Or maybe have private tutors (eg. university students). It's not too important that they socialize with kids the exact same age, as long as they get socialized.

If necessary formative experiences include having sex as a teenager, I will not be able to pass methods for having such experiences on to my children. I can only go with what I know, which is, that home schooled people are much smarter than any publicly educated person I have ever met.
