Which major is more Veeky Forums, philosophy or literature?

In theory it should be Literature but its incredibly rare to find an English department which isn't either terrible or politicized to shit these days

phil majors have higher verb iq and chance of being hired in their field. lit major higher chance of being woman or homosexual, so the latter is more Veeky Forums

Having worked on campuses for roughly 10 years now, philosophy and (surprisingly) journalism majors continue to impress me with the breadth of what they read. English lit. and humanities students always disappoint when you discover how little they read outside of assigned texts, not really interested in most of those assigned reading, or are simply continuing to follow their preferences they established in high school. Political science/studies students are probably the worst.

could you get a degree in either without reading any of the assigned material?

This post attests to the absolute state of this board

Second fedora post.

Nothing more lit than being a drug dealer

math + philo is the epitome of Veeky Forums

Literature is a hobby, it shouldn't be your major

Same about philosophy

Autodidacticism, with a focus on religion/history, and a sprinkling of ancient/continental philosophy.

hello there fellow patrician

For true patricians, *everything* is a hobby.

>Which major is more literature, philosophy or literature
You aren't going to make it, user.

Hoboism

What is this "literature" major and how do I declare it?

>philosophy is a hobby
no it doesn’t work like that honey

...

Why would you want to major in philosophy ? Your works will be mediocre and forgotten shortly after you die.
