I have a combination of one of the top 10 most common names for the year I was born, and then a surname in the top 100 across most English-speaking countries.

Suffice to say, my name is very, very common, and if I look it up on Facebook, I find a half-dozen others with the exact same name living in my region and born in the same decade. World-wide, that number is much larger.

I use a pen name because publishing under a name that is essentially John Smith won't get me anywhere.

My name starts with an N, like many famous writers.
