If there isn't a clear concept, with strong examples, of masculinity than how is the child supposed to complete the transition? Even worst not only has the concept degraded but there are forces actually attacking it, saying masculinity is bad and not something to aspire to. That encourages the child to not grow up.

The same is true for femininity. The image of motherhood and being an adult woman is eroding and there are little insects actively campaigning against femininity.

I do agree that, historically speaking, the concept of maturity has been intertwined with the concepts of masculinity and femininity but the reason such a system is failing is only for the same reason that any system does.
It's fragile and has ceased its usefulness.
