Nice you have original taste. 8/10

>collections of newspaper comics
>no calvin & hobbes
:/

The rest of the set is on the way

Why do you stack your books like board games? 0/10 apply yourself

>1969
>not 1984
dropped

Holy...

How damaging to the books is it to keep them stored horizontally like the OP?

I have one full bookshelf, with no where else for my new books to go. So I was planning on adjusting to a horizontal format so they could all be together. At least until I can afford to buy more shelves, but I don't know when that will be.

Is the damage marginal? Exaggerated? What do?

Holy shit, this is by far the worst bookcase I've seen on Veeky Forums and I don't think it's even on purpose. Saved, will attach to future shitposts

Rate my poorly formatted, normie shelves :^)
horizontal/10
and I called myself a normie, jesus

...

Mine isn't very aesthetic

Everyman's are nice though

I envy the neatness of many shelves posted in threads like these but you guys are chronic normies and should leave.

How do you deal with too much books? I already stuffed drawers full of books and I have pile of books i can't see now. It's a problem when i'm looking for a book and it's behind a stack wich is hard to move without it all fallling on me

>Metzger
>Dead sea scrolls
>NASB
>NAB
>Bart Erham
>Apocrypha
BURN IT BEFORE IT INFECTS YOU, KJV IS THE WORD OF GOD

Do you actually read those books, or do you just like the aesthetics of them as decoration?

which edition of Moby Dick is that?

Please be bait. I didn't think people actually bought those.

a really nice shelf.

Sadly its hidden behind books

>the sociology book
>the science book
>the religions book
>the psychology book
>the politics book
>the philosophy book
>the movie book
>the literature book
>the economics book
but why?

Aesthetics maybe?

but the dk logo and the text don't even line up, it's awful.

I'd give it a 8.5823458903244444..../10
Missing bookends.

Cool collection. Whatcha think about mine?:)

Beauty is eye of the beholder... or some gay shit like that

A 1941 limited edition i got for 2,50 euros

Someone buying the b&n collection doesn't care about tasteful symmetry

I do it, and there's zero damage at all. As long as you're careful with how you stack them and remove them, then you can't really go wrong IMO

>haha! Wow user ur such a brainlet! Hehe!
just fuck off. Post an original shelf if you even have one.

amazing

It's alright, that person is just scared that you're smarter than them

Yeah he probably is lol

I cant fit all my books on my single shelffff REEEEEEEE

If you can fit all your books on a single shelf, you don't read or you're a kid.

>look how smurt i um guyz

It seems to be made out of wood.
7/10

>all those wordworth classics

where do you live? i want to beat you up

i fear the day where no publisher bothers with sewn binding hardbacks unless they're bullshit tier price malarkey like folio society

...

What's wrong with Wordsworth

rate my shelf, milfs

J.J. Abrams?

Biji Kurdistan, Biji Serok Apo

patrician and AMO, gonna start reading some Gene Wolfe soon (but science is for fags)

I got them from a remaindered book store. Was something like 2 for $10 or 2 for $20 etc.

pls r8

>READY
>PLAYER
>ONE
Son I am dissapoint

I was bamboozled by a uni mate.

At least you have good taste in Metro.

>Nero
>Cleopatra
>Julius Caesar
>Hannibal
>Alexander the Great

What are these, where can I find them?

>being this much of a dilettante

I can handle the gaudy b&n books but having such a random assortment of shit as of you are some modern day renaissance man polymath genius is just pathetic. it's reeks of pretension.

...

These are jokes, r-right?
How do you like those editions of the Pseudepigrapha?

Rulers of the Ancient World - Folio Society

really nice collection.

>Rulers of the Ancient World - Folio Society
Thank you, I'll have to look into acquiring these.

>Tfw hate penguin clothbounds
>still buy them on occasion because they're the only copies I can find in the bookstore and they're kinda cheap

monarchist/10.
would defiantly borrow a bunch.

Who are you defying?

>stacking hardbacks
this kills the spine

...

>gonna start reading some Gene Wolfe soon

Awesome. What will you be starting with?

very sad

Have only read 10 books to be honest.

How do you even wind up with so many books you don't read?

I barely got into reading last year when my dad took me to a Half Priced Books and I bought book after book that seemed interesting. Yes I bought all these books in a year.

At the same time my business took off and have not had much time to read anymore other than 1 paragraph right before bed.

I miss PissPigGrandma

based muh books poster

thats why its aesthetic

Why not just cover your books with wrapping paper? It would look better than this.

there are some on the second shelf

>Chapman's homer
>spine complete intact

is that a good or bad thing?

Flip the image asshole

>vertical stack

D. Sgusting.

don't be too harsh, I'm poor

How did you get the books to stay suspended in the air adjacent to the bookshelves? Is it some kind of poor people magic?

Is Neumann accessible or is it dense reading?

I like this. Says a lot about you

it shows, not in the quantity but the quality

Be harsh, i have no idea what i'm doing.

How many of those textbooks have you read and why must you torment me with your unholy tetris stacking

cover to cover? hah, one and a half, i'm not in any classes and just use them for specific things when i can't be bothered with the internet. The top two in first stack, middle shelf, are at least 60 years old. They're the only ones like that that i'd want read like normal books.
Chemistry ones get touched the least.
I like the tetris, it really grew on me but it's so annoying whenever i get new books (the 4 fictions lying on top).

Is that real maple or particleboard with a veneer?

I can’t see shit, you’ll have to move even further back somehow

Yup, this is pretty much it. Cheap books, no time.

Best in thread, highly patrician

rate

Why doesn't anyone in this thread has a decent shelf? Half of them are university books or meme books. Is this what Veeky Forums has become?

INT / STR Build

It's interesting and actually pretty good. It's not as long as it looks.

>Odyssey all alone
Why?

Kinda wish we were friends desu

>It's a books I'll never read but bought anyway thread.

why doesnt anyone with serious collections ever post? saw a thread a while ago with people claim 1,000-5,000 book collections. where are those?

is rapture still around?

I have shelves of ~170 books in total which are a mix of classics, SFF, literary fiction, history and science. I don't own Ulysses, Gravity's Rainbow, Infinite Jest, Hegel's Phenomenology of Spirit nor Kant's Critique of Pure Reason.

I like my collection. But I've never posted it because I don't want Veeky Forums to hurt my feelings. I foresee great hostility due to the absence of the meme books.

quickly approaching the point where i need bookshelves.

this is the other one, have some more in piles on the floor.
