/humanities/?

So, this board is not totally shit, but it is pretty shit. The moderation is trash, with /pol/ faggotry run amok but deletion of fun and interesting threads for no real reason. Would there be any interest in the creation of a dedicated Veeky Forums style site/board outside of the confines of Veeky Forums? I'm thinking something more akin to what Veeky Forums used to be before the Veeky Forums fracture, when we had art and history threads. It would be great if I could go to Veeky Forums for that stuff but it's basically /pol/ lite now, with most threads devolving into "Italians aren't white lmao" bullshit.
So I think it might be cool to have a site dedicated to discussion of the humanities generally, with moderation to keep the more toxic political shitposting to a minimum, more freedom in discussion in regard to topics, and also freedom from site culture more generally. (We are trying to discuss literature on a forum centered around children's cartoons, after all) Plus, I feel like there is a real dearth of sites on the internet to discuss the humanities. r/literature is slow as fuck, and it's the only alternative I've come across. Veeky Forums generally has much better and more fun discussion but it's crippled by shitty moderation and rules. And the more sites where people can discuss serious topics seriously the better (though some shitposting is cool, I would think).
What are your thoughts? If someone were to develop such a site what would you vote on for the rules? Should it be an image board or something different? I think it would be cool to maintain anonymity; thoughts on that? Potential name recs? Other thoughts?
And for any mods:
>books for this feel?

it's not coming back, give up

Seeing that work in person was beautiful.

Would certainly recommend the National Gallery to any American

Agree 100% All four are fantastic imo.

Is it likely that anyone here even has the technical know how to create a website? We're all humanities fags.

politics is deeply intertwined with the humanities
it just so happens now that the cultural zeitgeist right now, at least on chan sites, swings heavily towards the reactionary right, and that affects the perception of literary and philosophical works.

There are many /g/entoomen on Veeky Forums. Not that it counts. You could always pool in money and hire someone. (sikritly)

Doesn't seem like a bad idea. I assume once the site is built it wouldn't require much maintenance. It would be cool to do a democratically run thing, especially if we were to pool money for creation/hosting.

Be the change you want to see, build it and they will come, ect.

'humanities' is a liberal spook

>liberal!
>spook!
using buzzwords as a means of attacking an idea is a spook, idiot.

I'd be interested, but you'd have to be picky on who would moderate it. Making it a chan-style anonymous image board would be best i think.

>i want more mods
stopped right there.

National gallery is so comfy. Its a short walk from my uni so I often visit but I have to coordinate my visit so that I don't run into a horde of asian tourists taking pictures of every painting.

That is probably the most sane comment I've ever seen today. Kudos.

using the term buzzword indicates being from reddit or YT comments section and is a way of censoring people with types of thought you don’t like implicitly

you can eat shit and kys nigger

I agree. We could have different boards like sci fiction, poetry, general critique, etc.

/pol/ provides us all with some much needed levity and gives thoughtful consideration on the state of modern culture. I insist, no, DEMAND, that our colleagues from /pol/ join us in our exodus, as /pol/ is Veeky Forums's official sister board

we have a harem of sister boards, and tell pol to bring their qt zf lgtb

Proposed rule: No pseudtuber eceleb posting. No Twitter screenshot posting. No outrage porn news article posting.

sounds good to me

Could be interesting if it worked. I don't think it will.
