Currently reading A brief History of Seven Killings - about 200 pages in. Really enjoying it, probably the most enjoyable contemporary book I've read in a long time and I sort of wish Veeky Forums wasn't sleeping on it. The prose is great and versatile with a genuine sense of rhythm, you get a good feel for 1970s Jamaica.

How do you categorize your shelves? Do you use any more than read, currently-reading and to-read?
No, I don't. Why should I use them?
Autism and also because it's fun to see what you've read through the years.
Maybe I'll tag a year to each book. I have goodreads only a year after all.
>not even tracking when you start and finish a book
Who are you quoting?
You. Didn't you just imply that you're not tracking year?
I track year, I said I don't have tag with year like "to-read" or "read".
Oh right. But would it not be more informative to have a shelf for each genre, like biography, history, philosophy etc?
Hm, I don't know. It makes little sense to me, because I rarely read anything but fiction. If I have "Christian" shelf, it'll be implying that other books are "not-christian". Maybe I'll make catholic\orthodox shelf in future.
There are many sub categories to fiction. Historical, contemporary, fantasy, sci-fi, thriller, etc. I'd say that a christian shelf only imply that the books in the shelf mainly deal with Christianity, not that books on other shelves don't touch it.
