sure, why not

no

No

what do you think?

No, North Korea was always the red-headed stepchild of the communist bloc and South Korea is no ordinary capitalist state.

REAL COmmUNISM WAS NEVER TRIED ON THIS PENINSULA!!!

South Korea is enormously protectionist. Not your perfect example of capitalist country.

Yes.

Although North Korea is not "true communism", its marxism derived ideology has obviously done little to prevent tyranny arising in that county. The zealous promotion of this set of utopian ideologies suggests that it bolsters tyranny.

This is all fact and we can use these facts to make judgments about the left wing in our own countries and the way they are easily shilled and psychologically manipulated by corrupt populists.

Is South Korea capitalist?

To be fair, they always had less than a half of South Korean population and they didn't have easy access to tons of credits like South Korea.

North Korean isn't Communist. They say it themselves. They practice an ideology called Juche.

NK is a totalitarian monarchy with planned economy
SK is the result of 40 years of various dictators with very protectionist policies

are koreans jews?

Slant Jews, yes.

Will Corea ever be united?

what are the shekels for?

as part of China, yes

No

But people will not want to believe that.

It's questionable if North Korea can be called "Communist" at all

But people will sperg out about that fact as well

What North Korea and South Korea are an example of is the failure of small state autarky vs international trade and free flowing information.

>Juche
>Communism
You can't be this stupid.

If China just accepting the lost of face that North Korea gives them from time to time then yes, it will be. It is at the point that south Korea could invade and conquer the North in 8 to 14 days WITHOUT us help. Barring nuclear weapons use by the North. However they are at so close of the distance that would be a bad idea.

Juche isn't communism though

Why does North Korea have to be such a shithole?

Juche is closer to fascism than to marxism at this point.

what difference

>planned economy
>gommunism

If this post ends in 1-9 god does not exist.

>failure of communism
>glorius capitalism

dont try OP, the neckbeard communists on this board dont wanna talk about NK, or stalin, or lenin and all the other failed states of communism.
>plz gib us monis, its a human right

North Korea is not communist.

Hell, South Korea can hardly be called capitalist too.

Poor bait.

South Korea will never attack the north without a good reason.
First, because even without nuclear weapons (and you can't trust the retards who rule NK not to use them) it would be extremely painful.
But mostly because they have no interest in reunification. At all. They are set in a nice routine, they're prosperous, their people are compliant, the conflict makes the politicians job easier... Why try to fix what ain't broke ? And they've seen the problems that Germany had and still have with the east, and they know it would be way worse with the north. They don't want that burden.

What is NK a good example of?

The go to English speaking guy for this is B.R. Myers a wrote on North Korean propaganda and self perception.

Short start

Long
youtube.com/watch?v=jy1iudsIKa8

Or just read the book. It's not very long or deep. Even has pictures. But very illuminating.

His basic thesis is that NK is primarily a nationalist nation that was secretly inspired by Japanese nationalism/fascism during the colonial era. NK is isolated in part because they choose to be xenophobic in the extreme. The state apparatus keeps in power by keeping the country in a state of constant war whom only they can protect the pure race of Korean from the great Other that seeks to besiege them at every angle. Juche is this half-assed ideology that assembles all this thought.

Good food for thought he's made in arguing his case:
NK took mentions of Communism out of their constitution. Only Juche now.

The Soviet Union believed their own doctrine and that the state was justified in that Marxism-Leninism would lead to a glorious future that would surpass capitalist exploitation. This caused people to lose faith in the USSR government when they couldn't deliver. North Korea appeals on a more visceral nationalist level protecting "us" from "them". It doesn't matter if things are shit so long as "we" stand strong and "they" are to blame. This is why they didn't collapse when the USSR did despite worse conditions.

Most North Koreans know life is better in the south materially. They get SK dramas through smuggling.

NK's weird obsession with race

SK is capitalist.
Capitalism is a much broader system than communism. For one you're included if private accumulation of capital is allowed, protected and encouraged. Various levels and forms of state intervention and participation, as well as more or less monopolistic economic structures, do not change anything about capitalism.
Free market capitalism is a marginal sub-ideology that isn't really followed anywhere.
On the other hand, a system is communist only if workers are in control of the means of production. And that simple thing has never been achieved by a communist party.

>Free-market capitalism
>Ideology
need some better wording there famalambourghini

hehe what capitalism copration own means production?

people better

>claim to practice Juche, which roughly translates to self reliance
>rely on China for everything

South Korea doesn't want to reunite. North Korea is so poor that reuniting would bankrupt South Korea.

North korea is best korea :0)

The DPRK is not communist. While the class system is backwards and based on political loyalty, it still has a class system which is inherently not communist.

True Juche has never been tried.

>liberalism
>degeneracy
>k-pop plastic whores
no

How. There wasn't even a peace treaty signed at Panmunjom but rather a flimsy armistice.

It is Juche, which is a personality cult around the Kim family inspired by that of Stalin. By all means it is a communist monarchy.

One is a dictatorship that practices a corrupt ideology, where the elite rides on luxurous cars while commoners die of hunger, and anyone who dares criticize the state or government is sent to jail for treason.

The second one was parodied in a Rogen & Franco movie.

>while commoners die of hunger
Is poverty really that bad in South Korea?

south korea outside of seoul is just your typical third world country

Korean American here.

No. North Korea is a failed state feudalistic monarchy whose primitive form of government doesn't resemble those of any contemporary nation.

South Korea is a late stage hyper-consumerist corporate-controlled (jaebol) oligarchy, where its citizens become fake plastic drones of themselves

The governments of Korea are an example of pent-up, internalized Korean anger and self-pity/hatred (hwabyeong) manifesting into exploitation of their own peoples.

That's why they should unify under the south korean government like germany in 1990.

it would not happen though

North/South Korea is an example over compete isolation over globalization over anything else.

the undeniable source of the North's woes is through the name it earned, the Hermit Kingdom. With little to no trade with outside powers beside limited contact with China, and border controls so airtight that almost no one can enter or exit the country in a normal circumstance has led to the North lagging seriously behind a state has has open trade with the global community.

I say this because the Soviet Union, despite being a communist centrally planned economy, was still the second largest economy in the world all through the Cold War.

But I will concede that Communism is at an inherent disadvantage when it comes to flourishing in a world stage where globalized free trade is the most lucrative path to economic success.

and that disadvantage was what led to their socialist market reforms that have led to China being the second largest economy and Vietnam being a more or less healthy state in a global society.

I'd be ok with reunification under the south korean plan too desu

한 국가

there's no north koreans on here imbecile. you are probably some joseonjok brainwashed by the chinese thinking that you're more chinese than korean.

if you are korean, you have to follow what other koreans think and say 병신

but i said "south korean" :0)....you need reading lessons

>Is Korea the perfect example of a Communist/Capitalist divide?

You know nothing about Asian modern history.

>Hermit Kingdom

falling for this historical meme/myth again

Korea/Joseon had plenty of contacts and trade wih the outside world. They had to conduct it in a controlled manner through certain districts and the bureaucracy like in Edo Japan

It doesn't mean they were totally closed off and isolated.

전라도 조선족 상놈 병신

english plz

They literally do not trade with any State other than China and South Korea, and negligibly Russia.

I'm not talking about Joseon Korea, I'm talking about the DPRK as it stands today. Less than $4 billion in total exports and mirror figure for imports is absolutely pathetic for a state of its size and location, all due to the near nonexistent contact with the rest of the trading world. This lack of contact, put on by both their own choosing and international sanctions is the direct cause of the situation the North finds itself in today.

>best korea puts something in space
>WOAHHHH lets sanction them

DPRK is different from Joseon. They do it under totally different contexts

main reason why there is no trade is because of santions imposed by the US.

DPRK does trade and conduct business with foreign corporations whenever they have the opportunity. See how they caught a Polish firm using North Korean slave labor

Don't they have good relations with Pakistan? I heard North Korean students (obviously the elite) can study there.

>zhang chink wang

Fuck off. I've been all over South Korea and the average person has a higher standard of living than the average American imho famalam. I bought into stupid /int/ memes about Korea too until I actually went there and realized it's the best Asian country.

...

Have you ever been to other Asian countries before? Just saying, I've been to Tokyo, Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing and they all seem similar, with different pros and cons.

Korea has way to many negatives things that overshadow anything good that comes out of it.

>smells like sewage everywhere
>terrible drivers
>culture where you have to worship your superiors
>poor old people everywhere
>plastic surgery
>eat dogs
>everyone looks inbred
>too many young people without ambition or drive and actual skill or talent

Well personally I lived in Taipei and in Okinawa before, as well as some time in Tokyo. Idk I just liked Korea more, certainly a more fun place to live than America, safer, cleaner, and better technology integrated into everyday life too. Well sure I guess it depends what you're into but Korea is my favorite, I might be biased due to Korean waifu, getting ready to move there pretty soon too. Also I'm Venezuelan originally and Koreans have been the chillest with me (really friendly and brolike, Taiwanese were friendly but awkward while Japanese were nice but too autistic).

killing yourself is an asian thing but what the fuck is wrong with them, it is without a doubt the worst koea

>latino koreaboo

you're probably better off moving to Los Angeles Wilshire and Olympic boulevard

Nah already lived in LA for a while. Already got a nice place lined up in Busan (and yeah I've spent a lot more time in Busan than Seoul so I really don't agree that Korea outside of Seoul is third world. Since, believe me I know third world.

Perez Jimenez or nothing.

Busan's great for the beach and going to Japan if you like that

I'm pretty much fed up with Seoul due to how congested/stressful it is.

Anyways, I prefer America over Seoul anyday. I can't live in Seoul for more than a month, when America (West Coast) is just a lot more chill and comfy

But, there are slums and shantytowns all around Seoul and Korea. They are all basically impoverished, neglected people living like that for 100s of yeras

>Perez Jimenez or nothing.

Miami/Cuba is a better one.

is this true?? wtf i hate korea now

+1

this

Cuba is more communist in practice than North Korea

and Miami is basically what Havana would be like if it was still capitalist

this is not true. a lot of farmers are rich and can get to seoul in less than 3 hours.

farms are really nice, there isn't much incentive to earn a lot of money for a lot of the isolated villages when everything, the pristine forests, mountains rivers, fields are all there, and all you need to do is build a nice house for your family

I live in Miami.

Feels good brah.

But yea, the political divide + th 90-150 mile swim to freedom is a much sharper contrast. Havana would be a fucking party destination bigger thann Cancun. But the people probably wouldn't be able to read or write. Say what you want about Castro and che, and I dislike them as much as the next Cuban , but the island has a decent educational system.

Fair enough, I'm into big cities myself so I don't mind, waifu wants to try living in Seoul if not we'll head back to Busan which is awesome because I guess the beach gives it that chill comfy feel. I agree the west coast is the best part of America but I like the public transport, cleanliness, lack of crime, endless things to do, etc in Korea.

Yeah I'll give you that one, you can find actual slums in Korea like that unlike Japan, however Taiwan is worse in that respect and my homeland definitely makes Korea look like a futuristic utopia.

>Havana would be a fucking party destination b
you are admitting that it would be a degenerate shithole filled of dude weeds and niggeroids fucking white girls

>mfw all koreans are passive aggressive humanlets who wish they could be white

What is it now?

Plus you act like that's not fun as shit. Unless youre a virgin or something.

do not worry friend, Cuba is slowly becoming in a yank colony again YEEEIH

normies reeee etc.

t. Wrong

>easily shilled and psychologically manipulated by corrupt populists.

Not even leftist but you just described every contemporary right wing grassroots movement in Europe and America.

No because South Korea is not an example of free market Capitalism, but the power of corporatism and state-capitalism.

South Korea had central planning until the mid 1980s, but also ever since then very, very tight cooperation between industry and Government who work hand in hand (to the point Chaebols, the large manufacturers led by dynastic feudal families are basically considered the real Government in South Korea)

South Korea still also has official economic plans (which act more as recommendations, but are still handed down from Government too industry) just like China does as well.

Another point to make about Korea is that it has fucking INSANE wealth disparity, while the rich are insanely rich, the average working class person has, I've read less the purchasing power of someone from Puerto Rico
