What if the US allied with the Central Powers during WW1? What kind of impact would it have on the outcome of the war? Would this be good or bad? Would WW2 be prevented?

The u.k would have to be neutral our allied with the central powers for that to have happened

US would be unlikely to ally with some random mainland European power as the did stay out of European political affairs, however if we just assumed that the UK didn't intervene, that the "scrap of paper" really was just a scrap of paper, then via the Schlieffen-Plan first France and then Russia would have been easily beaten by Germany and AH.
The Central Powers would have created "Mitteleuropa" a EU-esque conglomeration of newly created states in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus (United Baltic Duchy, Lithuania, Poland, Ukraine, Belarus etc) which all would have been economically dependent on Germany

I'm under the assumption that Germany could've tore threw the french forts as easily as they did the Belgian forts t bh

The forts themselves, maybe, but not without dragging some pretty heavy duty artillery, which slows down the overall pace of advance.

And that becomes important because it gives the French time to mobilize and concentrate, and the front without the addition of Belgium is too narrow for you to relaly make use of your mobility and manpower advantages.

Trying to attack France without going through Belgium first is going to do nothing but accelerate the onset of trench warfare, and all the fun that is.

In Belgium they had huge rail artillery pieces that they just rolled up to the forts and blasted them open. These were considered some of the best forts of the time too

The Belgian forts were a pain in the ass for the Germans. They had to use some large naval guns to take them out since soliders couldn't touch the forts without getting torn to shreds by machine gun fire. The guns had to be shipped from Austria in parts, transported to the front by rail, concrete had to laid down to make a foundation for the gun, and, reassembled. All this on the tight schedule the Schilffen Plan demanded.

All this just to take out some "chocolate soliders" (as the Germans jokingly called them before the war). Now imagine the French.

Pretty unlikely unless Britain was neutral, but the outcome would have been a German victory, tho the war would probably have lasted longer and the subsequent peace treaty even more punitive than Versailles.

The most reasonable way I could see this happening is some mishap with the blockade forcing the "freedom of the seas" issue.

I might have to re read some things

That would never ever have happened, because the U.S and the UK are Anglo kikes.

If the UK was neutral it might happen. But yeah there's no way the USA joins the war against the UK, if only because they would have no way to actually win such a war in the time period against a Royal Navy that was many times the size of the US Navy.

The only way it could've happened would've been if the U.S was actually an extension of German culture and not Anglo culture.

Most white Americans are actually predominately of German heritage.

But the problem is, then the U.S most likely wouldn't be a democratic republic, nor would it look anything like what it does today.

Didn't most people claim to be of German heritage to distance themselves of the Anglos?
Like the reverse happened during the world wars.

The UK staying neutral in another Franco-German war was a real possibility, arguably if Germany had promised to honour Belgium's existence they could have avoided war with Britain. Certainly that's more likely than a German USA, that "most white Americans are German" meme is something of a myth and certainly the core culture of the USA is pretty exclusively Anglo, but then again America had no beef with Germany, and if the UK wasn't involved in the war they would have traded freely with both France and Germany. Then if France built a bunch of subs to starve German trade and accidentally a whole Lusitania or something, I could see the US siding with the Germans in spirit and with supplies if not with actual military assistance.

Nice meme most of us are anglo

Probably none
The British navy would have prevented any contact between them so the US wouldnt have been able to intervene in the war

That implies the U.S. would go to war with the u.k

You have to understand that Belgium was a convenient pretext and not the real reason the UK entered the war

Britain was allied with France and Russia since the beginning and would've intervened regardless
Not going through Belgium would have been worse for Germany.
They'd have gotten stalled at the French border and the Brits would still have helped the French
The war would have entered German territory by 1916

>not the real reason the UK entered the war

By the time the war started, agreed. But before it came to blows there was an opportunity for the Germans to drive a wedge between Britain and France, simply by issuing a guarantee for Belgium on the same lines as the existing French and British guarantees. Now it's possible Britain would still have joined the fight, it may even be likely, but Britain would have to find a decent reason and it's hard to see anything as immediate and pressing as the German violation of Belgium serving the same role.

Ignoring some possible drawbacks, Honor and Tradition would be preserved and The Fascists and Reds would be gloriously crushed.

The more I think about it the more I realize how great it could have been.

More realistically and perhaps importantly would be Britain guaranteeing neutrality for gains against Russia in the East.

This could have happened through being less aggressive in Africa and avoiding challenging British naval superiority.

This is all hindsight of course as it seems as if Germany discounted Britain becoming immediately, directly involved.

If the Venezuelan crisis wasn't resolved in Americas favor, then yes. It would happen

>but Britain would have to find a decent reason

Germany attacked France, and Britain was allied with it
