> buy er tap iss tree

>buy yuh

Bi oooo tap es tree

I'd pronounce that as bayou

What's fun in this thread is that I can perfectly understand how Bayeux is pronnounced but, if I didnt, none of the awnsers would help me either to learn how.

Fuck english.

it's french :P

Not historical but
>Nguyen

fucking this, there were at least 7 Nguyens in my school as a kid and it was pronunciation hell

Bayeux is french and that's why i know how to pronnounce it.

"Buy er tap iss tree", "buy yuh" or "Bi oooo" are trying to approach the pronnunciation from an english spelling perspective. Something impossible as shown by the variety of responses because english spelling is retarded.

I think it's something like "win" but I'm not sure

Afraid to ask 2bh

Mme is just like Mr or Ms and yeah, it's madame.

Byzantine. Nobody seems to agree. I can think of six possible pronunciations. English is a joke.

>Byz like the beginning of 'business'

Cough through though plough hiccough. I don't think any language on earth has such a chaotic spelling system. (And I hear English speaking people complain about French spelling!)

gwin

Jean Sylvain Bailly
first mayor of Paris, first president of the National Assembly, astronomer and mathematician, executed by guillotine during the Revolution

there is a crater Bailly on the moon
Anglos pronounce it bailey
kek
it's BA-EE

It's either something close to "win" if you're from the north, and it's something close to "Noee" if you're from the south I believe.

Don't quote me on that though.

The "ng" sound is a phoneme that most native English speakers can't pronounce; the closest approximation is the "ng" in "singing". You neither pronounce the n nor the g fully. If I wasn't at work I'd record myself. "Wen" is usually good enough.

Brexit

>it's BA-EE
Almost. It's BA as in bad and YE as in yield (I'm French).

Bay yo tapestry

It's mademoiselle

Turlough Luineach

I went to a school that was 50 percent second generation Vietnamese immigrants and they alway pronounced nwin or new-in

It's always given me a chuckle that the Romance languages use the v sound and claim to be the descendants of Rome.

Hwin or Win is how I've always heard it pronounced.

Holy shit I can't believe how triggered I am by your stupidity
I'll just let it slip but damn you're dumb and implying so many things that are so wrong

>>Cough through though
Sure
>>plough hiccough
I believe you mean plow and hiccup, respectively; and the way things are going with modern social media I wouldn't be surprised if 'thru' replaces 'through' soon enough.

Classical Latin also didn't have y, so Cynthia was actually pronounced "Cunthia".

Apartheid

People pronounce it as a-part-heyt, it's better if its pronounced apart-hiyt

regards dutchfag

I don't care if this is wrong but

Bye-zan-teen

Purely because I think it's the coolest way to pronounce it

Clus-ter-fuck

Fuck your language, it sounds like a horse kicked a German in the head

Maybe in The Netherlands.
