It's Canada day and I've never felt less cheerful. After seeing the way Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Edmonton have become and the recent anthem change I feel my attachment to my home country is finally broken. Literally the only thing we have to tie us all together is a sport on ice.
Can anyone think of any historical events since the Korean war that are worth being proud of?
Canadabro in US. Can confirm; morale is at an all time low.
>tfw PK subban is a Nashvillian now
Juan Harris
And I hate hockey friend. I hate how everyone around me thinks hockey matters to the rest of the world and how they fucking sniff their own smug farts.

Move to the US of A and embrace the true glory of North America.

Brody Rodriguez
Oldfag here. Expo 67 was the high point of our history. It's the last time that there was unbridled optimism about the nation.
Oh, and the guy with the crunked-out horn now seems like a huge creeper.
Leo Fisher
My nation is not national socialistic why life so bad boo hoo ;-;

Hunter Jackson

Mason Stewart
>Being proud of what your country used to be is a bad thing C'mon now
Brayden Collins
What even is "Canada Day", who cares
Alexander Lewis
What's your fucking problem OP? That we have gender neutral anthem? Grow up.
Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada) is the national day of Canada. A federal statutory holiday, it celebrates the anniversary of the July 1, 1867 enactment of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act, 1867), which united the three separate colonies of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a single dominion within the British Empire called Canada.[1][2][3] Originally called Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), the holiday was renamed in 1982, the year the Canada Act was passed. Canada Day celebrations take place throughout Canada, and are also held throughout the world by Canadians living abroad.

>literally having any mentions of gender removed from your anthem >prime minister pandering like an absolute madman; uses /pol/ memes in real life >everything is fine
Wyatt Campbell
Why would anyone care about trivial shit like that?
Levi Harris
Wait, our anthem changed?
Ayden Davis
It is not trivial.
When the PM is asked why his cabinet is like something out Captain Planet, and his answer isn't "well they're the best fit for the job" but "Becuz it's 2015 xDDD" that is cause for concern.
Not to mention that ever since he became PM Canada has been demoted to junior partner in the fight against ISIS, and while based sikh minister is trying his best it just isn't enough.
But I wouldn't expect you to understand
Colton Watson
>It is not trivial.
Those specific things you initially brought up were, you putz.
Bentley Davis
Mindless sophistry like the anthem changing indicates corruption at the roots of society; if the government cares more about making the anthem more "PC" but doesn't give a shit about the natives that are suffering, nor the plethora of other problems it is a cause for concern
Grayson Sanders
Dude, it's not a government only does one thing at a time. It's not like they shut everything down to change the fucking anthem.
Also
>soph·ist·ry >säfəstrē/ >noun >noun: sophistry
>the use of fallacious arguments, especially with the intention of deceiving. >a fallacious argument.
Josiah Reyes
I know that, but the fact that they're wasting even a single fucking cent on this bullshit is too much
Isaiah Mitchell
>le hokey le tim hurrtons
Canadian """"""""culture"""""""""
Pathetic desu
Elijah Nelson
hahahhahahaahahah true it's a shitty fedration between french and english filled with asians and arabs
Sebastian Morris
Glad I live in the Maritimes away from all this crap.
Jaxon James
Certainly not anymore...
...cuckmaster Trudeau and his shillings need to be undone at the very least...
Evan Lee
>I'm so triggered by trivial things that I want to move to another country and be a hyper-nationalist.
Have you ever thought that maybe you are the problem?
Joshua Wright
Nice buzzword!
They were also "triggered" by the old superior anthem.
Buzzwords ARE fun!

How much better would Canada be right now if the YES had won in 95
David Hall
Came to post this. I feel pity for anyone posting a colonial flag as some point of national pride, or for Anglo-Canadians in general.
>indigenous culture was destroyed for THIS
You deserve everything. I'll take my citizenship and all the perks of it, you can have the rest of this wasteland of a "home".
