Drunk Driving

First off, I never drive drunk. I only get drunk at home or if I know I'll have a ride/sleeping there.

But let's be real for a second. Walk into any bar/nightclub, and how many of the people there do you think honestly have a DD?

I still drink and drive but not over 4 beers

I'm always a DD.

you dont need to be able to stand to drive.

No one cars about your man boobs.

i have a comfy van bed

Never drink and drive
Pull over, hammer one down, get back on the road

xD upboated!

I've shamefully done this on a trip back from Austin. Middle of the night and I was the most sober.

>I don't think we'll make it back without more beer
>four pack of Guinness cans, pull over 3 times to chug one
>get home at sunrise, pound the last one as I park my car

I've done some stupid shit, never gotten in an accident drunk driving though.

>at a friends for a party, still drinking at 7am
>get a phone call about a job interview, ask if I can come in that morning
>agree and drive through 20 minutes of city traffic while properly drunk

My best friend was killed by a drunk diver. I miss him a lot. We had some really great times when we were kids. It really fucking sucks to have a lifelong best friend get killed just because some motherfucking son of a bitch wanted to get hamered. The guy is now doing 5 years in prison btw. I plan of tracking him down when he gets out. Im going to meme him to death with my miata.

Its hard enough to play games while drunk, wouldn't even think about driving.

I don't understand why people get such a vendetta up about drink driving. If your friend got hit by a bus, would you want to ban buses?
>driving isn't as natural for him as walking

>drinking anything more than a glass of whine at your meal
People at bars chugging down beers are literal junkies getting high. Fucking degenerates having to dull their senses to forget their troubles.

Shut up pussyboi, youre dad was probably drunk as a skunk when he porked your fat bitch of a mom in the back of her dad's farmtruck

yes because you can walk perfectly normal when wasted.

what is your favorite driving beer?

If they don't want us to drink drive, then why do seatbelts open beers with ease.

> drinking with friend and definitely drunk
>he's had only a few still "sober"
>he drives home
>gets ballsy and stupid
>drives 75 on narrow sidewalked road
>mild S curve ahead
>Lol FWDs into the crub at ~60mph
>oh shit.jpg
>front wheel CV axel and all 100ft away in a bush
>block from home so I run home and grab the tow truck while drunk
>hook up car and tow home before any police arrive (if any were called no one nearby seemed to give a fuck)

Only time I've ever drove drunk.

With services like Uber and Lyft there is really no reason to drive drunk. Get a ride to the bar/club and get a ride back...it's not rocket science. You have to be seriously dense to drive after drinking. If your excuse is that it's too expensive, just wait until you get popped for a DUI.

Rural areas don't have Uber or lyft.

I never drink and drive.
Not even "a sip" or whatever.
Not even if it's early morning and I'm not driving till afternoon.

Because if I get into any kind of accident (even not caused by me) and they find any alcohol in you blood, I get charged with a criminal offense, have to pay a huge fine, and get my license revoked for at least 6 months.

And besides that, I firmly believe that only degenerates and subhuman scum get behind of the wheel while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

I wouldn't like it if some drunk/drugged up driver got into an accident and a member of my family was hurt or killed, so I try to not be one of those faggots.

Y'all disgust me.

I learned my lesson and got off easy. I took a right hand turn while listening to back on the rocks and let the rear wheels out. Shifted to second and over corrected and hit a double parked car with no one in it. I was drinking earlier so I had no choice but to leave with the airbags deployed. I did 120 on a city street and have never been so scared in my life. Cops mailed tickets for leaving the scene a week later. Now it's up to the judge and lawyer. Up until that night I realized I had no regrets in my life. Do not fuck around with alcohol and cars. I am now paying for my car and 3 others to get fixed and I may not have a license. It could have been so much worse.

For some reason drunk hooning isn't as fun as sober hooning or high hooning

>how many of the people there do you think honestly have a DD
I think a lot of people have a daily driver, something to ferry them around to work and shit. So I'd wager at least 75% with the rest being bus riders.

>this
I live in the boondocks, half an hour drive from the nearest club, I can't uber that shit.

Where the fuck do you live, I got pulled over doing 90+mph, blew a .076, and was told to drink one less next time.

Theres a reason why over 1/3 of all traffic fatalities in the US involve a drunk driver. People drive shitfaced all the time.

I'll drive half cocked, never fully drunk though. I avoid the highways though. Never even been close to getting pulled over or having an accident

OMG i died lmao
jaw literally dropped XD upvote my friend

...

Never done it not worth it in countries with actual legal systems.

But traveling in shithole countries, often by motorcycle, I ride pretty buzzed most of the time. YOLO

You know what they say
"One hand to steer, one hand for beer"

>If your friend got hit by a bus, would you want to ban buses?
No but I wouldn't want to ban Camrys if the drunk driver who ran him over was in a Camry either.
Getting run over doesn't just happen. There has to be some fault.
>bus driver was looking at phone and ran him over
That's illegal for a reason
>bus driver was drunk and ran him over
That's illegal
>Driver was going 70mph through a city and ran him over
That's illegal
>Pedestrian was jay walking and stepped out in front of the bus
That's illegal

It's not about banning the vehicle but the unsafe practice. I don't know how you even came up with that analogy.

Did you get the job? I imagine the interview would notice your nasty ass is drunk and unprepared.

I used to get obliterated and drive when I was younger. Now I drink all the time and drive but I only get completely wasted when I'm home with a couple hot chicks.

It's happened to me. I ended up getting blasted at my friend's funeral because I had no idea everything would get so emotional. Nobody walks in to a bar/pub saying "fuck it" and decides to just attempt to drive home drunk, you END UP driving home drunk.

>going to a place where there is a 99.9% chance of getting drunk
>in your fucking car
You're fucking retarded.

Drinking to get drunk is degenerate.

I drove after slamming two beers once. I was far more cautious than when I drive sober.

It really depends on the circumstances surrounding the drinking for me. I might drink 6 light beers over 4 hours and drive home fine and under the legal limit. Or I might drink 2 strong beers over an hour and have to wait another hour before being alright to drive.

Spotted the sheltered underaged b&s

I only get wasted if I know I don't have to drive back.

If I drink I wait an appropriate amount of time when I'm good.

Past a certain age it is. Just gets a bit pathetic when you're still playing beer pong in your 30's...

Getting drunk is not the problem, getting drunk and driving is.

I'm not going to jump on that condescending bandwagon, but I will partially agree that alcohol is basically a socially acceptable drug. Pretty funny if you think about it that way.

The only reason drinking is so widely accepted is because of its legal status.

>public transport not mentioned once

It must really suck living without trains easily available at all time. I guess the trade-off of having way more space everywhere is kind of cool though.

.
I've had maybe 3 or 4 times where I REALLY shouldn't have driven or rode my bike home. I did make it home safe each of those times, but the shame I felt was similar to masturbating to questionable porn.

There were other times where I was okay to drive, but buzzed enough where I probably would've failed a breathalyzer if I got pulled over for some reason.

I'm not gonna comment on drinking and driving , cause i've never done it . I'm one of those sanic tier drivers that's always over the limit , so i'm basically begging to get pulled over . No need to give the cops even more reasons to fuck my day . But who here was driven stoned ? I genuinely think it's worse than drinking and driving
>be me
>18 , been driving for like a month
>go over to a friend to get blazed
>decide to take the automobile in case i get the munchies and go on a snack run
>get really stoned
>close eyes
>open them up , now I'm no longer at my friends house , i'm in the middle of ordering at McD
>think i'm tripping hard so i just run to the bathroom to throw up
>friend stops me and asks what's wrong
>tell him i have no idea where we are
>apparently i decided to go to a mall on the shit side of the city to eat something
>drove the lads in a calm and vigilant fashion
>tell them i don't really remember any of this
> they laugh cause they think i'm trying to trip them up
never buy cheap weed , that shit is not fun

My only regret in life is that I have but only one upvote for you my good sir. XDd

I drove drunk pretty much every weekend from 18 up through my mid-20's. Only got pulled over once. Amazing.

Anyways... That one time is what made me stop. Scared me straight!

I might also add that my current car has no front plate, so that's just asking to be pulled over :-)

Do people really drive sober?

That's like driving without a lit cigarette. It's impossible!

I think it depends if you're a regular smoker or not. Some of my friends who blaze all the time seem to function quite normally when high.

Myself?

The few times I've drove high were an adventure. Way more difficult than drunk driving. I only smoke on occasion though.

My biggest problem with DUI Laws is the legal limit, 0.08 is a pretty low number for most people.

I've driven the morning after plenty of times, most of the time I am just really tired. I have a test to see if might be anywhere close to be able to drive, i get up from wherever i have been sleeping and go take a piss, if that sends my head spinning and i feel like dirt i probably aint ready yet.
I have had a few dodgy drives after big parties and that made me be a bit more careful

I prefer driving high, most drugs don't disinhibit you as much as alcohol even in larger quantities, especially stims like meth or molly.

I also hate alcohol.

that is pretty low, but a few years ago Scotland set their limit to 0.05 which is insane
if you walk past a pub on a Saturday evening you would exceed the limit

My biggest problem is that DUI checkpoints are unconstitutional.
>Pulling over and interrogating every person passing through a section of road without any reasonable suspicion of impaired driving
>Pretending we don't already live in a police state

But fuck me, right?
>for the greater good
>muh safety
>not doing anything wrong, nothing to worry about

>disagree with something
>it's, uh, unconstitutional
>?????
>profit
Checkmate, atheists.

I'd like to hear your argument why it's not unconstitutional. Go ahead.

And do it without accusing me of being a drunk driver who "just wants to get away with it." Somehow I know that'll be your go-to move.

The burden of proof lies with you, not him. You are the one asserting that it is unconstitutional - prove it.

He fucking said the reason already.
>without any reasonable suspicion
Read, nigger.

>Pulling over and interrogating every person passing through a section of road without any reasonable suspicion of impaired driving
Not good enough for you?

Primarily, I've never heard of or encountered a DUI checkpoint in which everyone is stopped. In my experience, they only stop those who give them reason to suspect, or they stop 1/5 of cars or similar.
Secondarily, driving on public roads is not a right, despite what your daddy told you. It is a privilege, and as such, police and government officials have the right to stop you at any time.
>inb4 I'm a cuck

Not sure about planet earth, but here in the southeastern USA people drive drunk all the time. For police to get DUI's it's like shooting fish in a barrel. If they really want to make it easy all they do is set up a roadblock on a Friday or Saturday night. I'll drive through and see like 3 or 4 people lined up to be arrested by 9pm.

I drive buzzed regularly, but never drunk.

thank you for your post I will be forwarding it to every pepsi distributer in florida

What kind of checkpoints are you going through? Every one I've encountered, they interrogate each person. You can't just leave your window up and ignore them.

>police and government officials have the right to stop you at any time
Not for no reason. That's just unwarranted harassment. Learn your rights, faggot.

No, they can't detain you, search your vehicle, or anything of that sort without probable cause. Stopping you, asking you a few questions, giving you a breathalyser or a field sobriety test are well within their rights though. Especially late at night.

I was arrested for drunk driving over the winter. 2.5 days in jail, still waiting on court hearing. thank god no one got hurt. Stupid decision, one that I will never repeat. I've been sober 90 days. Don't drink and drive.

>they can't detain you
Oh really? What if I just want to roll on through without talking to anyone? They'd break my window and drag my ass out the car.

>Stopping you, asking you a few questions, giving you a breathalyser or a field sobriety test are well within their rights though
How? They have no real reason to question me unless I've been directly observed by an officer driving while impaired. Simply being on the road late at night isn't a reason. Get real.

>Stopping you, asking you a few questions, giving you a breathalyser or a field sobriety test are well within their rights though. Especially late at night.
How does a state trooper's boot taste?

Everyone is effectively detained until police determine them to be sober. This implies that they suspect every driver of being intoxicated, simply for being on the road at a certain time of night.

I'm ashamed to admit this, but I enjoy driving buzzed.
I only do it out on county roads late at night where no one is around, so the only person to get hurt is me. It's just fun shifting while buzzed.

Thompson vs. Smith, supra.; Teche Lines vs. Danforth, Miss., 12 S.2d 784 "… the right of the citizen to drive on a public street with freedom from police interference… is a fundamental constitutional right" -White, 97 Cal.App.3d.141, 158 Cal.Rptr. 562, 566-67 (1979) “citizens have a right to drive upon the public streets of the District of Columbia or any other city absent a constitutionally sound reason for limiting their access.”

i drink and drive car beers are the best specially on a hot day

"[T]he right to travel freely from State to State ... is a right broadly assertable against private interference as well as governmental action. Like the right of association, it is a virtually unconditional personal right, guaranteed by the Constitution to us all." (U.S. Supreme Court,

Shapiro v. Thompson)

“a person detained for an investigatory stop can be questioned but is “not obliged to answer, answers may not be compelled, and refusal to answer furnishes no basis for an arrest.”Justice White

I got pulled over as the DD the other night on my way home.
I had 3 beers over 6 hours, and had just eaten 6 enchiladas and got pulled over for doing 50 in a 35, which was gay because the speed limit changed from 50, to 35, back to 50with no posted signs on my side of the street. I said that to the cop and that it was my first time in that area and she was pretty understanding and just gave me a warning.

Thx bby

They did fire a guy maybe a year ago for showing up to work drunk (at 5am, so hopefully it was from the night before). Dude had been there forever too. I kinda felt bad because he obviously had a problem so they should've offered treatment before just canning him. Not sure if they had a problem in the past, but I guess it is also different the moment you get behind the wheel of a company semi truck intoxicated.

Thank you sir. I don't even drink anymore, let alone drink and drive. But I can't stand those DUI checkpoints. They go against everything this country stands for. There are way too many cops on power trips and they are given too much power to fuck with you before you are ever convicted of shit.

Drinking and driving is retarded though, mostly because the sober people who get hit by the drunk drivers are normally hurt much worse (or killed) and a lot of habitual offenders are the ones causing these accidents and they are alcoholics with no insurance and a shitty pickup truck. They need to throw the book at these people.

>Spending money on shit that doesn't even taste good instead of car parts

There are also Supreme Court quotes and rulings that say travel is a fundamental right and you are not required to register/tag your car or even have a state-sanctioned driver's license.

But that is another thread.

>he doesn't like the taste of beer or other alcohols
fucking faggot, get out of here poof

Almost forgot

*Unless conducting commerce

If you can't find a beer that tastes good, you're just a big fuckin pussy. I'll give you liquor though.

That sounds kinda nice. I should use that defense when I finally get pulled over for having expired plates.

>tfw still have IL plates in FL because IL insurance is so much cheaper and better
>tfw can't renew reg and get fresh sticker unless I go to IL and get emissions done

I need to switch that shit over. But my $90/mo good ass full coverage is so nice. Insurance down here is so fucked because of all the con artists, people who can't drive, and the "No Fault" laws where medical bills are covered by your own insurance even when somebody else hits you. Fucking foreigners think the "American Dream" is sueing for $150k when they get rear-ended at 3mph.

While I'm a classical liberal and would love to see people exercising their 'god-given' freedoms and rights, I would not suggest it.

The police would love to steal your car and throw you in a cage while you talk about 'but m-muh supreme court'

>beer is good
>liquor is bad

wash your mouth out

>Absolutely jack hammered
>Can't gauge anything
>buddy and me returning from the club at 4 AM
>long straight road, no one is alive
>hit the gas pedal like it owes me money
>get up to 150km/h in fucking city zone
>pass the police car with the speed of fucking light
>the moment I pass them they turn on their car and start parking out
>ohshitohshitohshit
>they go the other way

I don't know what kind of luck do you have to have for that kind of HAPPENING

I've driven drunk probably at least 20 times

I've driven pretty fucked up 3 times

Never pulled over or hit anyone

I don't dare do that anymore tho. That was like 16-22 years old for me. I'm 26 now and never drink and drive

>guy at car meets I'm kinda friends with
>always comes to the car meet after being at a party of some sort
>brings and drinks beer at the car meet
>always says he's not that drunk even after we've seen him drink 3+ beers
>so tempted to anonymously report him for DUI every time this happens (usually every Friday night)
>constantly brags about how fast he likes to drive
What should I do guys? I feel like it's not really my place to say anything, but I also feel like him doing something terrible is inevitable.

beer IS gross, though. like, what's even the point? i'd rather have a pint of liquor and a tea or coke or something to go with it. way less drinking to get way more drunk.

Romania

that only applies if you get into an accident

if they do a random check and find alcohol levels of above 0.15mg/l of exhaled air, you only get your license suspended for 6 months and a fine between 21-50 times the minimum monthly wage.

On a random check, anything above 0.5mg/l is considered a criminal offense and will land you a jail sentence between 1 to 5 years - depending on how drunk you are.

In Romania there's such a thing as "suspended" jail time. As in, you get it put on your criminal record that you got a 2-year prison sentence, but you don't actually serve prison time. But in those 2 years if you get any other criminal offense on your record, you will have to serve the remainder of those 2 years + whatever the other sentence is.

I am OK with this.

Err, you get a suspended sentence if your "crime" wasn't anything serious. So for drunk driving, you get a suspended sentence if you didn't cause any serious accidents or hurt anyone in any way.

There's Drunk Driving and then there's "drunk" driving. Everyone around here "drunk" drives. ie: driving after a few beers over a few hours.

and I can't recall a single time anyone I know had an issue driving.

If you drink terrible tasting poor quality beers, yes.

Here in America, we've got some of the world's best small breweries and the worlds WORST macrobrews.
