It was done by someone who wasn't familiar with the characters. IF Japan had the PS3 translator return and it seems he trained someone. The TOP NEP hats came out after V-II released for example.

Fuse and have a Persona for each element. Keep Yukiko since she's the best healer. Grind only if you have to. The game is pretty easy even on Hard. Unless it's your first JRPG or something.

I'm doing that all of that, and while regular enemies are no problem, whenever I get to a boss I have some trouble, because I can't just keep throwing spells from whatever element they're weak from. I'm at Shadow Mitsuo right now, with my party around level 35-40, and when I look up online, people recommend 45-50 for that fight. I must have fucked up somewhere.
