If Willy didn't get rid of Bismarck would ww1 have been avoided?

Do you even have to ask?

Well Bismarck died in 1898, so it's possible the war could have just been put off a few more years if he was still in office until then.

France got smacked because Prussia was able to mobilize faster and stay one step ahead of them at all times.

They also had better arty

This and this from the military perspective.

On the diplomatic level france completely misjudged the behavior of the southern german states.

summary

How so?

Was WW1 ultimately a good or a bad thing, as far as it turned out?

It lead (or indirectly lead) to the spread of Democracy throughout Europe. You can take that as you will, but I believe it to be a good thing.

WWI was a direct continuation of the Franco-Prussian War

You could also argue that it led to the end of empire, and all the ills of decolonization.

Democracy slowly spread throughout Europe even without a war.

It was much easier to do without german monarchycucks

But the Junkers got all butthurt after the monarchy fell and helped the fascists take power.

through democracy

>tfw Hohenzollern Spain will never ever happen
France deserved far worse tbqhwu

Daily reminder that you Italians owe Germany every last scrap of your independence.

Every conflict is a direct continuation of another one. Chain of causality and all that shit.

>"En España, al difundirse la noticia de que Leopoldo era candidato a la corona, se le empezó a llamar Leopoldo Olé-Olé si me eligen a causa de la difícil pronunciación de su apellido para los españoles."
>the people you were trying to govern couldn't even pronounce your name

>conquisto
>not 'conquistaba'
You fool, it took Napoleon multiple years to do those conquests (except for Prussia lol).

Both work, you autist.

No that's wrong.

Germany was planning to destroy France with a new war after the franco-prussian war. Several occasions were dodged by the french until 1914.

You can see that at the beginning, french managed to resist well to the more numerous german. French were submerged.

>Lets have this huge showdown between the Best Army of Continental Europe vs the Grand Army to finally prove---- wait, what do you mean with they all got defeated at once?
>okay, luckily the fighting had been outside Prussia, so while Napoleon besieges these border fortresses, the prussian army can rebuild itself----- wait, all these defended fortresses and big cities just capitulated like that, wth
>well luckily there is still this one prussian army intact and with some luck-- oh well, nevermind
>Russia HELP!!!
