C4 or C5?

Which would you guys buy? I'm talking 92+ C4, with the LT1 and updated body. Prices for C4 are around $7,000-$8,000. C5 is around $13,000-$14,000. Both with manual transmissions.
I prefer the C4 look better. But the LS1 is hard to pass up. I like the look of the C4 interior better but I'm worried about the quality of it. What do you think?

C5 is basically a direct upgrade

except the c4 has better seats and kinda is just nicer inside.
c5 interior a shit, just like the 996

It is but I'm not sure it's worth double the price. Especially when I am saving for the C4. What will I miss out on?

c5 come with usually a garbage rear end ratio
a near silent exhaust, who the fuck wants that
uncomfortable seats, even in the zo6.
on the plus, the t56 feels good and has a nice clutch feel. also not bad steering and brakes.
the interior is typical 90's gm garbage though. for sure the c4 is nicer built.

how hard are c4 to work on? say a good ling tube header install. is it near impossible? is there space under the car?

the c4 engine is so sexy it makes you feel guilty to close the hood

Can C4 seats fit easily into a C5?

You're not getting that for under $20k though and at that price you could pick up a C5 Z06 which does almost everything better.

C5, with C4 seats if you have such a spoiled butt. Dat sweet, sweet transaxle.

What's so good about the trans axle? I know weight distribution but I feel like unless I'm doing 24 hours of Le Mans or some shit it won't matter

Why do you say that? There's nearly perfect C4s in my area for roughly $10000-$11000

I think people do them all the time actually. C4s are pretty mod friendly with the Lt1. The C5s even more so though with the Ls1.

>LT1

Besides the 50/50 weight distribution it put more weight on the rear wheels and added more interior space in the footwell which was a complaint C4 owners had.

If out right performance isn't your goal maybe a Corvette isn't the right car for you?

this particular engine is out of the c4 zr1 which are significantly more expensive.

this is the engine you get with a normal c4
>pic related

Oops! My mistake. You're right. I'm looking for something different than what I drive now, which is a 1997 town car.
That's why I'm looking into small, manual, V8 and fun to drive. C4 checks all of those boxes. I guess I'm answering my own question here I was just trying to see if the C5 was worth the price difference.

>small
wat

the C5 is a vastly improved car though, chassis, engine, transmission, it has far more potential than the c4, and the same mods/ $ per mod will go a lot further with the c5 which is closer in relation to the c6 than it is the c4.

as far as seats go you'd want to look into some Corbeau A4 racing seats for the c5

If your heart is set on a c4 though who am I to get in the way of true love

Opti is not that bad of a system, especially with the vacuum lines on the later models. Its just a pain to swap out.

The problem is people who dont take enough precaution when reassembling.

The C4 is actually very small m8. For a V8 its very compact and affordable. Don't believe me, go stan next to one at a used car dealer. They're very small cars for what they are.

You know how I know you're just talking out of your dumb fucking ass?

Both cars have the T56.
Exhaust is pretty much the cheapest and easiest upgrade around.
C4 seats are just as dogshit as C5. Throw a Sparco in there if you want something that holds.
Good luck dealing with the c4's dinosaur pre obd2 computer nightmare and digital trashboard.

It comes down to lt1 vs ls1, and if you're picking the c4 cheese wedge with the dogshit "multi port" engine because the seats are marginally better, you should be sterilized.

c4 with blower. because 8-71

C4 has the ZF6.

C5 is that much more expensive for a reason. C4 really isn't that good in comparison, it's 4th gen fbody tier which reflects the price

You can get a C4 around here for 4000 or so.

My dad just bought one because he talked the dude down to 3000. Had an exhaust leak, otherwise it was mint.

>Tfw dad owns a 2009 and a 1989 corvette now

A C4 ZR-1 might actually increase in value thanks to its unique engine.

they're not tall, but they are pretty long. their dimensions are deceptive when compared to other cars that are fat and short
