Why do automatic transmission cars have 2nd and low gear? Under what circumstances would these be used?

It allows the ability to change down if need be, such as when going up steep gradients or towing things.
Towing things and for when your stuck in snow or mud.
when you're going up a hill?
So you can do mad skidz cunt
Towing, hills, and off-road. I use first in my Jeep often when I'm going down a steep ass driveway. Also came in handy when my fuel pump was dying. Had to keep the revs up going up hills or the car would stall. Pretty useful IMO.
The only time I have legitimately used it was in the winter time when I was going down a steep ass hill trying to prevent myself from going too fast
With old 3 speed plus over drives it makes sense to use it when accelerating, like going around a corner and keeping it in 2nd and not allowing it to shift into 3rd.
This. As I enter a corner I'lol click OD off and sometimes push it down to 2. Otherwise it downshifts and then up shifts again mid corner and upsets the balance of the car.
>upsets the balance of my autotragic
