Most of the living things on earth didn't stick around very long, but gradually a steady, dependable base of lifeforms built up over time. Very recently an intelligent race called humans started aggressively taking over the earth and rearranging stuff on its surface to suit them. They're a bit unstable and delicate and are only in their infancy as the dominant species on Earth, but there's a lot of promise in the human race.
