It was probably an Italian guy.
>Nation full of manlets
>Manlets have to make gains to compensate
>Ancient Italy/Rome were extra short manlets
>Had to make extra gains to compensate

It's amazing that they conquered half the known world. Especially lanklet country like Gaul and parts of Germania.

Louis Cyr

>Ancient Italy/Rome were extra short manlets
Where does this meme come from? Northern barbs tended to be taller than romans (on account of their hyperproteic diet more than anything), but everyone else in the time period didn't.

Have they proven Hercules to exist. I thought he was legend.

Did they ancient Greeks smash bovine hormones?
No? Well git fucked

too bad there is no worlds weakest man because OP would surely win

>historically speaking
>Hercules
>on Veeky Forums
kill yourself.

why, Martin Krpan of course

Grettir the Strong
>Lifted a massive stone when he was 14 years old, not even adults could lift it
>Wrestled a bear, won
>Fought 6 berserkers alone, survived and killed 5 of them
>Wrestled the zombie of the biggest guy in Norway, won
>Was ambushed by 4 armed vikings while he was sitting alone, unarmed, drinking beer. Held them off, eventually killed 3 of them, the last guy ran for his life. Grettir was not injured.

Angus MacAskill, the greatest of the true giants. The gentleman next to him in the photo is 6'5

>MacAskill was well known for feats of strength such as lifting a ship's anchor weighing 2,800 pounds (1,300 kg) to chest height, and an ability to carry barrels weighing over 350 pounds (160 kg) apiece under each arm or reputedly able to lift a hundredweight (50 kg) with two fingers and hold it at arms length for ten minutes. People also claimed to see Angus lift a full-grown horse over a 4-foot (1.2 m) fence, without breaking a sweat.

>his national stronkman didn't even remove kebab

pfft

We're talking about a man who held the earth on his shoulders and fought the hydra. Of course he didn't fucking exist.

This guy was probably the strongest greek or roman we know actually lived

Peter Francisco

American Revolution figure.

6'8" 230 pounds, and was reported to have picked up a 1100 pounds brozne cannon by himself and carried it away. So that the British didn't capture it during the war.

Okay this guy beats my bovine hormones desu, mirin hard

Paul Edward Anderson (October 17, 1932 - August 15, 1994) was an American weightlifter, strongman, and powerlifter. He is an Olympic gold medalist, World Champion and two-time National Champion in Olympic weightlifting. Anderson played a big part in the manifestation of powerlifting as a competitive sport. He is considered to be one of the strongest men in recorded history for his mostly unequaled feats of strength.[4][5][6] Anderson is also regarded as the strongest man who ever lived.[7][8]

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Anderson_(weightlifter)

forgot to post feat
>The Guinness Book of World Records (1985 edition) lists his feat of lifting 6,270 pounds (2844.02 kg) in a back lift as "the greatest weight ever raised by a human being".

U S A

U S A

It's called exaggeration, he could be based upon a real person loosely of course

By that logic, you could say that about any Greek diety. Except it's probably not a single individual, but rather a reflection of Greek ideals and culture, a poetic addition to the mythology.

Wasn't it Louis Cyr?

sick reference bro

kek you might as well say Jesus actually existed

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World's_Strongest_Man

here you go family. And we can safely assume that before the invention of steroids, no man came even close to their level

>Hercules
Come on, at least you could use Gilgamesh.

didn't he?

6' vs 5'11"

idk man strong manlets tend to be really dangerous

lol

>6'8 230lbs
nikka there are dudes bigger than that in the NFL.

wtf was his problem?

>catholics praying
>nigger comes over playing blasphemous music
>nigger gets btfo by french man

Possibly Jará Cimrman

Brian Shaw.
strongest pro strongman in history, and 100% of his best lifts are on camera and impossible to refute. literally none of what he has done is stupid speculation, legend, or some story that gets more impressive the more times it gets told.

thats stil retarded but i guess funny

>strong manlets tend to be really dangerous
True. You should always be wary of the short and staunch dwarf type

I'm training to do strongman, not nearly strong enough but I follow the sport. Usually the Arnold Classic is the more definitive test of strength

ye absolutely
WSM gets a lot of swiftman events mixed in, ASC is a lot more straight up strength

>manlet punches some black dude out of the blue
>DEUS VULT DEUS VULT TRULY A SOLDIER OF CHRIST
that's just pathetic man

yes
>tips fedora
Probably just one guy, most legends are based upon one guy, with small improvements that could have been done by anyone. So it isn't really fair to say its a collection of people when its really just a couple of influences around a central character.
If I said Marcus Aurelius rode a dragon, would you tell me he didn't exist or tell me I am full of shit?
>thinking historians don't arbitrarily decide these things
There is no real set of criteria that one has to meet to exist....
Its so ridiculously nebulous that current history is really anyone's game and one could deny that everyone who died in the past 11 minutes never really existed by shifting the goalposts of what constitutes "proof".
Its a joke and its best to ignore the low IQ morons on here.
/pol/ is smarter desu, most you are idiots with black and white tunnel vision.

No one ever said that

except the person posting th ewebm did

It's the credits at the end of the fucking webm, though it only lasts for maybe a second.

Also the file name.

they didn't have a hyperproteic diet, they ate barley soup and grains

Samson... He brought down the house

Dude was a fucking monster.

Was a meme

He benched >300

The over head lifts he has done are attainable by modern athletes (Inb4 steroids)

And the lifts from the back are retarded, any strongman could 20 tons on a pivoting wagon with a one inch rom

Ahead of his time, naturally gifted, still not unparalleled

Except that's unproven bullshit.

And physically impossible.

We're talking about a man who was the son of god and turned water to win. Of course he didn't fucking exist.

Back lifts a shit

What constitutes proof?

>And physically impossible.
Maybe if you're not a giant

then why has big z won more titles?

Samson. Not a big guy, but endowed with supernatural strength. Toppled an entire temple over by pushing its two central support columns apart; killed 1000 arabs with the jawbone of an ass.

The most famous person on earth didn't exist?

kek

That all seems doable.

Well, doing the feat in a sport environment with judges and official weights. That claim was basically circus freak advertising.
Dude was 7'9, even rounding up to 8ft he'd only be twice as strong as a 6ft man. Square cube law senpai.

Competing for longer against easier competition

>historically speaking
>hercules
Top thread, OP.

todays lifters are well stronger than anything anderson thats actually documented, his quarter squats arent squats

>easier competition
So that's how he beat Shaw.

brian shaw does well in endurence events, raw strength isnt his main thing. deadlift, squat and press isnt where hes winning

Are you retarded

could Hercules beat the Mothman, Big Foot and Chupa Cabra in a team match together?

Who knew there were so many power lifting fans on Veeky Forums.

Who here /fit and /his

Gonna say eddie hall

>Dude was 7'9, even rounding up to 8ft he'd only be twice as strong as a 6ft man. Square cube law senpai.
Not to mention 7 foot 9 is SUPER bad for you.

because he's been competing since 1999.

who won WSM the last 2 years?
and in 2014 shaw competed on day 2 of WSM with a fully torn bicep.

he tied eddie at the ASC this year in deadlift, and tied him again at WSM this year. but yeah, you're right for the most part. at the same time though, it's not like he's not right at the top either. up until this year he has been basically untouchable at stones and loading events, but thor beat him this year on the stones. and Z has nuclear reactors for shoulders or something, idk how he has been this stupidly unbeatable at overhead events for this long.

>Who here /fit and /his
suh dude
>eddie hall
he's a deadlift baby tBh
