separatism

It all went wrong when Britain insisted that Greece joins the Balkan League to fight the Ottomans, else they will help the Ottomans themselves.
Greece joined, didn't sign any contracts to divide the land taken, ensured the Second Balkan War, and thus cemented the peninsula as a tribal civil war situation for the next century.

No Britain plugging in their proxy state, no border disputes, Constantinople falls, the slavs eventually unite, a strong South Slav state on the Balkans, friendly to Imperial Russia.
World War I seems impossible, since Austria would be facing an equally powerful state, and we all live happily ever after, and Bannerlord releases in 2016.

Fuck anglo cunts.

Where did it all go so right?

are serbs destined to be muslim slayers?

we'll see soon when Europe finally recovers its balls and chimps out against the migratory economic opportunists

I hate this meme. The Serbs were allied with the Ottomans for the longest time. They enabled the kebap.

we were never allies, we were occupied for ~500 years, than purged the fuck out of them

Fucking imbecill, there was no alliance between the serbs and the turds.

>the West/East Rome, HRE/Byzantium(Turkey) border being one of the most enduring ones throught history
>join countries that are just across that border
>it doesn't end well

i wonder why...

also, commies, rampant debts, serbian imperialism, croatian separatism, etc.

>hurr remove kebap meme durrr :D

The Ottoman Empire would've ended right there, if not for the loyal serbian dogs saving the princes.
Thank you, Andrej, you were a great help against the crusades as well!!

>Christian schism + conversion of Bosnians lead to a religious divide
>Turkish invasion leads to the Serbian migrations westwards
>Slovenes and Croats come under Serbia after WW1 as a war bounty
>attempts at creating a joint identity fail because of nationalism/separatism
>war crimes on both sides during WW2 lead to even more animosity
>Tito attempts to create a joint identity again
>nationalism returns
>Serbs aim for more power through centralisation
>Yugoslavia blows up

>top parts have belonged to venice/rome
Wut?

Vojvodina is Hungarian land. Serbs back to Iran.

>Slovenes and Croats come under Serbia after WW1 as a war bounty

nope

Okay, so it wasn't exactly like that but Serbia did aim for lands to the west (mostly the areas settled by Serbs) and on the other side, the unrecognised State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs feared attacks from Austria and Italy.

that's better

Daily reminder that Yugoslavia could have had one of the most powerful navies in the Mediterranean if it wasn't for fucking Italian Shits.

;_;

>>Serbs aim for more power through centralisation

no

>bawww our gibsmedat was taken away

It's true, though. The Slovene calls for a formation of a confederacy were blocked by the Serbian nationalists under Milošević who were aiming for a Greater Serbia - and this wasn't a goal that could be achieved through federalism.

Nice buzzword.

>A-H Navy passes its fleet down to a successor state that declared independence and was internationally recognized
>Italy commits act of war because they were butthurt that they didn't get first dibs on the free shit

noooo, milosevic was not for great serbia

They forced peoples who differ from each other to live together. You simply don't do that unless you want a violent conflict on your hands.

Heterogeneous societies typically don't last long.

Just a correction; the State of Slovenes, Croats and Serbs was not internationally recognised. That's one of the reasons it joined with the Kingdom of Serbia into the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes.

Oh please.

when the slavs settled the region and fucked the natives out of their identity

No, they were not nationalists.
Milosevic was just a power hungry commie who wanted to be the next Tito and use centralization which he would achieve via support of Serbs.

They were already a vassal state at that point. The Ottomans often forced their vassals to fight with them, and in fact there were elite infantry units within the Ottoman Empire that were almost entirely made up of people from conquered territories (like the Janissaries).

At the end of the day, would it really have been better for them or the rest of Europe if the Timurid Empire won there? The Ottomans claimed to be tolerant, especially around religion, and were likely perceived as the lesser of two evils.

Wherever Serbs are they must also rape.
