I want an older car, but I can't argue with how far engine technology has come within the past decade.
You can get it in the 2005 or 2006 GTO. 400hp and torque

I guess LS is really the only answer...
For the 330-400hp range, what would be the best V6 that fits what I'm looking for?
Isaac Scott
S54 bmw i6
Andrew White
>bmw >reliability
pick one and only one
Gavin Robinson

Asher Wright
Dorito

How does this compare to the Nissan VQ?
Never thought of it, but sounds good . .

k20 turbo, ej20 or 25, 4g63 4 cyl are lightest maybe cheapest
or
ls series.
Bentley Rivera
>k20 turbo
Isn't the K20 a high compression engine? If you stick a turbo on it don't you have to run 100 octane e85?
How reliable is the EJ turbo off the legacy (tbqh I don't trust Mitsubishi with anything)?
Angel Sullivan
there are low compression K20s as well
Hunter Jackson
All depends on the vehicle. A 400hp turbo 4 that has to rev to 8k will painful to drive in a 4,500 pound land yacht. You'll need torque to get off the line.
And again a 400hp big block in a civic is going to handle like shit because of weight distribution.
Connor Nguyen
Audi V8.
Ian Nelson
The engine I'm replacing is a 3SGTE turbo I4
just about anything is going to be lighter and distribute well
Sebastian Rodriguez
You can get S65 with bad bearings for cheap.
Camden Ramirez
L67 3800.

TIMING CHAINS
Cameron Hernandez
eh. more like timing chain guides. But still, it's got to be up there if it can be managed. I don't understand the point of this thread, is OP going to swap an engine into something?
Cooper Ross
Yes
The engine is for a mark 2 MR2
Everyone wants me to put the Rav 4 engine in it, which I'm against
