Tell me about the russian civil war

Does anyone have any information on Americans that were involved in the Revolutions/Civil War? Particularly any that were involved on the Red side as I am aware of AEF Siberia that was sent to fight for the Whites.

I vaguely remember that Japan invaded Siberia at the time, but they really didn't do much and the pussy parliament decided to withdraw.

Far from it, Entente forces didn't shy away from invading Soviet Union themselves during that period and they used white forces as mercenaries. Conspiracy is a wrong word for simply wanting their money back and taking open actions to reach that goal.

Kornilov and Denikin tried to topple Kerensky, that's literally how the White Army in the South started out - they were imprisoned together, then escaped, then went to the cossacks where volunteers started flocking to them.

The Siberian government that fought against the Bolsheviks was initially dominated by Socialist Revolutionists and Constitutional Democrats, so both groups that supported the republican government. Kolchak took power in a coup against them.

In general, tsarist officers didn't consider it proper to engage in politics. When the tsar abdicated and the republic was proclaimed, it had the appearance of legality - to contest it would be politics. But the bolshevik coup that used violence, and in the eyes of propaganda was a Jewish plot sponsored by Germans, was a whole different thing. Then of course the biggest escalation of the war was after the tsar was murdered.

How was it better? Russia was one of the most undeveloped countries in Europe. Nicholas was asking for a revolution.

It was actually growing rapidly at the time WW1 broke out.

That was one of the reasons Germany went to war, they wanted to beat Russia before they grew more powerful than Germany.

If only they knew how successful they would be in preventing Russia from developing.

Didn't happen in the UK/France because they had stable governments, Turkey already had a revolutionary force in the form of the Young Turks who were leading the country for years prior to WW1.
