"We left the tomb not to long after, Mistel found some gems and septims. She seemed happy enough. As we stepped outside she grabbed her backpack and slipped back into the tomb. Im ashamed to say, I took a peek. I still don't know why, im a married man, and I looked at another woman with lust. It's only normal, right?"
"A few hours later we set up a small tent and firepit, it was getting dark and Mistel said we should rest. I didn't know vampires needed sleep."
"I sat down by the fire and pulled out my pipe, ready to light it. Mistel slapped it out of my hands, she told me the smoke will cut my life short. Getting a health lecture from a vampire, ironic."
"Mistel sat down next to me, her backpack still snugged against her back. I told her to set the backpack down and relax, but she gripped its straps and held it close to her. Can't blame her for not trusting me with a backpack full of gems. I did almost attack her earlier."
"We sat and talked for a few hours, I mostly talked about Yarti and my kids. She seemed interested, or she's good at acting. I was about to ask her whats it like to be a dirty bloodsucker, when I felt something rest against my shoulder. Followed by a quiet yawn."
"She was out cold, and resting against me. It was weird, no other woman rested against me since Yarti. My thoughts started to wander, asking questions of what if. What if I wasn't married, what if I did this or that. It reminded me of my younger days, the old me would have embraced her. Let her rest against me, but now it feels wrong and weird."
"Without a second thought I scooped Mistel up in my arms. I was carrying her to the tent, when realization hit me."
