If you aren't a wizard tier pleb, and are at least slightly normie, then the best shoes are the Vans Old Skool. I have both the white sole and gum sole, both excellent for driving. I use them both for bmx as well so theres that I guess.

I've conditioned myself to be able to drive in any foot wear from bare feet to steel toed snow boots. Apparently I was special for being able to drive stick with sandals.

I just wear my Sk8-hi vans. Literally any shoes. It literally doesn't matter.

My feet are too big for shoes in my miat.
