Stronker AWD Civic Type R

>Automotive News reports that a more hardcore version of the Civic Type R is already in the works. Honda is also considering building even more variants of the Type R to cater to different enthusiast needs.

>The first Civic Type R variant will be a more hardcore version with more horsepower than the base model's 305. On the opposite end of the spectrum, a less hardcore Type R "focused more on the grand touring aspect," according to Matsumoto, is under consideration.

>Interestingly, Automotive News also reports that an all-wheel drive version of the Type R is a possibility. Matsumoto said that he wanted the first Civic Type R in the US to be a reflection of previous models—light, powerful, and front-wheel drive—but apparently, he's leaving the door open for radical new versions.

What did they mean by this?

There's room between $34,000 and $40,000 for a Civic Type R [extra retarded japanese nomenclature here] so that they can sell them to people in the Northeast corridor, where people have money but also snow.

I hope my dad will by me the hardcore version when I turn 30. Would be neat if they removed some weight too.

Automatic when

Will they ever build a Type R CRX?

I fucking wish. I just want a new CRX. The crz does not count.

unnf

Why was it so perfect brehs?

Mine is beat to shit, but I'm slowly restoring it since the guy I bought it from wanted to boi racer it. Got it for cheap tho

At least this may be happening

>MIGHT be available for sale in 2018 if it premiers at Detroit 2017

>fwd
>ever

Why? Lmao

they should honestly just rebrand it as a crx. would generate a shit ton of hype

Probably half as much (or just as much) hype as was generated when the GT-86 memebox was announced. Honda still has a lot of CRX fanboys and they'd do well to remember it while they're still able to cash in on the "muh nostalgia" thing.

>more hardcore version with more horsepower than the base model's 305
>fucking over people who bought the type r
unless this isn't coming for a couple of years

and changing the crz from a hybrid shit to a nice hot hatch would be the perfect time to do so. the hot hatch market is intensifying in the US and the switch to CRX would make the most sense.would let people know that it's no longer the crz hybrid shitbox and also rope back in the big CRX fanbase

oh my fucking god please

Could always gimp it from the factory or make it more expensive than the Type R

>the hot hatch market is intensifying in the US
Exactly. That combined with the nostalgia factor; Honda could be ROLLING in profit$ if they decided to come out with a new CRX.

It might even be a strong contender for "meme car of 2018/9" if they do it right.

I'm going to apply for Honda marketing and meme this into reality for all of you

Please do it. Try and pitch an ad for the CRX like "Who said Touge is only in Japan?" so we know that one of /ourguys/ made it in

I'll just make sure the commercial car has a WAT sticker on it

also have this song playing when it's revealed from behind a winding corner
>the sound of a turbo in the distance
>winding roads along the 101
>HONDA ENGINEERING
>A REVIVED CLASSIC

> still no word on the new S2000

Come on, I want to see if it's really going to be a twincharged monster with a fucking DCT

I read that they are waiting for the 70th anniversary

Or..
>Keep CR-Z as hybrid
>Make CR-X the non-hybrid turbo and debut in 2018
>Give both models a facelift
