Would you buy it?

If you had the money would you buy a hmmwv?

No because its been beat on for who knows how long and fed shitty general purpose fuel.

hell no
maybe a 'mog if i wanted a military vehicle

No. wtf would I do with it? It's too hard to park and uses too much gas to daily it, you can't really haul anything in it, if I wanted an off roader I'd get a wrangler.

I'd have to have a lot of other cars before considering buying a Humvee. Even in a military collection I could think of a few other things first.

Not a military one. They're not legal for use on the road in the US. No VIN, cannot be registered.

nah they ugly as hell and American military shit isnt cool

No I'd buy a Haflinger/Pinzgauer wanted a /k/car.

What if you wanted a kei car?

>Unimog
>military vehicle
american education lmao

Civilian versions are ten times better. Duramax turbo diesels, Allison transmissions, nicer seats.

...

>is used by the military
>not a military vehicle

no.
says small penis.

>vauxhall corsa is used by the military
>is now a military vehicle like a tank and not a civilian vehicle anymore

As a 2 door truck maybe.

The Unimog isn't a military vehicle, it's an agricultural vehicle. It's used like a fucking tractor.

There's no comparison between an HMMWV. One has an exceptionally low COG for it's size, the other has an exceptionally high COG for it's size. One has a rigid frame, the other has frame flex like a rusted out 92 F150.

Only the 2006 Alpha model got the Duramax and Allison.

>a vehicle the military used by the military isn't a military vehicle
what

I'd get a Gangster Wagon as a winter beater

...

the vauxhall corsa is not used by the military.
unimogs are widely used in military service
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unimog#Military

certainly not

that must be civilian

No, they're shit for anything but military use

>If you had the money

You can get them for less than $5,000 and $2,000 will drive you right across the country. So it is well in my budget, but I can spend it in better places

If I was ever excessively rich I may purchase one for the novelty but that would only be after I have several boats, houses, acres upon acres of land and have several businesses in various industries going.

Would use it as a piss about land roaming vehicle

To add on, it actually would probably my second military vehicle purchase.

The first would be a land rover defender wolf

...

There was a guy selling one on Craigslist a little while ago.
He wanted $20k for it.

I seriously thought about it.

>They're not legal for use on the road in the US
That depends heavily on the state. Most states are pretty straightforward: turn signals, brake lights, and headlights.

This.

Fuck Toyota for killing it so early.

Now I want one.

They actually do have vins and you even get florida titles with them nowadays.

govtplanet has come a long way

>tfw exactly 7"x6" peenor
>tfw never worry about people thinking I have a small dick

I'd buy a deuce and a half before HMMWV

This.

I'd buy a lot of other mil vehicles before hmmwv but it's not bad for what it is. All of my boner to an old style troop transport deuce and a half.

my mouth was watering until I found out it only has 48hp/ton and 88lb-ft/ton

they're fucking garbage for everything except offroading

t. soldier man

The way those things get beat on 30,000 miles on a humvee is like 300,000 miles on a normal car

vet here. you don't want one. at least not stock. even if it was in good condition. its a combat vehicle. zero comfort whatsoever. slow as shit on the highway.

military HMMWVS are pretty well maintained.

as long as the chassis is straight. then everything else is cheaply and easily replaced.

they make great farm trucks.

I would buy one and build it like the perf version in the crew

No.
If I needed a bug out car I would just buy an hilux and modify it slightly.

Yes I couldn't daily it cause of gas mileage but I would drive it on the weekends and do some 4 wheeling with it

Old military vehicles are usually surprisingly cheap to buy.

Guy down the street from me had a Humvee for sale. It's camo but probably not military. It's been sitting there for at least 3 months with a "for sale" sign on it.

sick whip bruh

thx bro

>modern car that will shatter injectors/turbo anytime and filled with electronics that will shit the bed and make the vehicle literally undrivable
feel free to kill yourself

/k/ here, time for your history lesson

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commercial_Utility_Cargo_Vehicle

Literally militarized Chevy Trucks, were perfectly find stateside, but simply couldn't handle Desert Shield/Desert Storm

YFW: Pronounced "Cuck-vee"

Unfortunately they are meme trucks now, rednecks and off-roaders more than /k/ollectors

maybe if I lived in the middle of buttfuck nowhere.
parking that thing in the city would be a pita

I was in the Army for 4 years.
Trust me, you do not want to own a Humvee. They're absolute shit. Imagine sleeping in one for month at a time.

>hilux
>not land cruiser 79

Pussies, the lot of you

Thanks user

I always wondered about those

The both of them have too many electronics these days to make good bug out vehicles.

Don't get me started on the recent V8 landcruisers. I love a V8 and all but those are so prissy compared to the i6
