Please don't be DCT only like the rumors say
> it ends up being auto only
shit

>1.5L turbo 4 cylinder / hybrid technology / automatic only

All hope I had ever had left is now lost.

Predictably looks like shit.

This is fake correct

Nope. It's real.

>they put the CRZ drivetrain in it

cr-z would have been great if it came with a turbo

Honda is so fucking garbage these days.

the CRZ would have been great if it was designed by people who weren't out to make an eco shitbox

It's going to weigh 2400lbs, naturally aspirated I4 making 280hp at 9600 RPM, MSRP $38000.
JUST KIDDING. Haha when will they learn. It's another $60k 4000lb hybrid covered in fake vents

Honda is fucking god-tier. first the NSX, then the Type R Civic. now this! fuck, i hope its real.
rbo 4 cylinder / hybrid technology
Didn't find any articles of it being hybrid or having a 1.5 liter engine. supposedly its going to have a 2.0L turbo similar to the Type R civic and is going to be auto and manual.
no one should expect naturally aspirated power like that in a cheap consumer roadster in this decade of stricter emissions unless they want a highly exotic ferrari-like 4-cylinder t b h .

>no one should expect naturally aspirated power like that in a cheap consumer roadster in this decade of stricter emissions unless they want a highly exotic ferrari-like 4-cylinder t b h

Even the original S2000 was pushing the same HP/L numbers as same year Ferraris. Japs have pushed street car compression ratios on shitboxes just as high as current Ferraris. The only things missing are dry sumps and $$ lightweight valvetrain components, both of which could be done for less than the cost of a turbo or hybrid setup, at the cost of more frequent and extensive regular service. It's not that Honda can't, it's that they won't, same with all the Japanese manufacturers, they know people will buy it if you just make it look fast with lots of fins and vents.

I was about to laugh this off then i realized that the new NSX and Civic both actually look this ridiculous

I WANT TO FUCKING DIE.

>Honda
How is this relevant again?

An engine like that won't pass emissions

this looks fucking conservative compared to the recent civic type r. its a pretty decent render desu, I wouldnt mind owning something that looked like that.
im more concerned about what honda would put under the hood
i want NA, and going by honda's recent trend seems like the C&D rumor will end up true
blog.caranddriver.com/more-details-emerge-on-hondas-s2000-revival/

It's gonna be a turbo 4, probably the same engine in the Type R

I'm concerned about the weight

honestly i feel like they would, i cant think of the name but it helps burn off gas fumes to stay efficient, combine that with some cats and i feel like they could get it to pass

Exhaust gas recirculation? You mean that system cars have been using since the 70s?

i think this is more in line with what he had in mind.

Rumors say it's DCT with turbo I4 and electric supercharger to reduce turbo lag similar to what mitsubishi has. We won't know until it gets announced though

the f20c engine was a marvel of engineering, now they're going to do what everyone else is doing and tarbo an econobox engine

god is dead

>S2000 fags BTFO!!!

Rival Retard Porsche is laughing at you! You better do something about it!

>honda s2000
>1.5 liters
The 2000 initially referred to the fact that the original AP1 had the F20C engine, which was 2.0 liters. Given, the name was still retained when they updated it to 2.2 liters with the F22C on the AP2 but still, I can't imagine them calling it the 's2000' when the S660 already exists in Japan, and has a 660CC engine

>I couldn't imagine them calling it the 's2000' if it had a 1.5 liter engine when the S660 already exists in Japan, and has a 660CC engine

mistyped that part

Probably going to be
>2 liter turbo with hybrid technology (either with the engine or drive train)
>revs to a conservative 6.5-7k RPMs
>DCT only, no manual
>FILLED with aerodynamic goodies and cool weight reduction similar to the 4C with its carbon fiber body but literally be
>lol DCT only

Honestly when it comes out, it'll probably be decent around a track and have decent lap-times etc but I can guarantee that it will not fully live up to the original and people will be left to desire more; longing for the past generation

When I wanted the S2000 to come back, I didn't mean like this.

>Honestly when it comes out, it'll probably be decent around a track and have decent lap-times etc

>gets taken on the burgerkingring
>never hear the fucking end of it on Veeky Forums

i can't wait for tripfags to compare it to a corvette!

I doubt it will be DCT only. The SI and type r are both manual only

I mean, I'm intentionally playing devils advocate here but I think there's a good chance it'll be exclusively DCT, at least in the U.S. (other countries may get manual)

Consider the fact that the ND Miata comes in automatic, and that's where Honda's 'competition' would lay. Honda also loves to push NSX technology on their other cars, so I wouldn't be surprised if the S2000 has only DCT. If anything, it'll at least come with both options which is bad enough in itself.

Not at all the best engines manufactured go in to motorcycles.
>F20C 115 hp/l
>gsxr 1000 k5 178 hp/l

>Honda S3000
>3.0 straight six
>sequential racing shifter
>pneumatic adjustable ride height
>one-piece retractable carbon fiber roof
>hydraulic power steering (optional)
>spartan interior
>under 1000kg
>20k MSRP
>performance model with belt driven centrifugal supercharger for 7k more

t. hopes and dreams, long forgotten

>hydraulic power steering (optional)
hydraulic assist below 5mph, then full manual control otherwise
>extremely light weight engine internals, and still revs incredibly high for a straight six

would buy if it wasn't a complete and utter turd

looks like s660

Sounds like a duel to me
Get your deck m8

>muh hp/L
The F20C literally can't be made again because of emissions and fuel economy requirements. HP/L is dumb.

A CVT would make it even better. Imagine that constant 9k rpm buzz

no

>1.5L 3 cylinder turbo
>4 electric motors with 10hp each
>3400lbs
>6500RPM
>11 speed triple clutch (reminder Honda is literally developing this)

I can't wait!

>triple clutch
But why???

Because fuck you

to get up to the ideal clutch:cylinder ratio of 1:1

Nip spec F20C made 250HP, or 125HP/L

Motorbike engines can make crazy HP because they don't need any torque or stroke

That is legitimately nice.

If its legitimately fast I would buy one.

you know the number means the displacement right. that would be an s1500

d series died cause of emissions as well.

if its got some stupid shit like 11 gears youre going to want each of them to be as smooth of a shift as possible

>there will never be an NA 5 cylinder that revs to 9k

Literally the ideal engine

Why does every car of a manufacturer look the same?

I'll take an AP2 and pass on this thanks.

What is Design Language

>choose any three

Not a fan of how it looks but i hope its not a hybrid-technology-loaded piece of shit like the nsx was

But user, all "Performance Cars" are just hybrid-technology-loaded pieces of shit because driving is dead and all fags want to now is cruise around like retards.

THE ENTIRE RANGE HAS THE SAME FACE MEME

If Honda is going to bring back the classic roadster, then it should be a classic roadster.
That looks like a convertible NSX.

Literally all you had to do was hit the reverse image search to see this mock-up is several years old now. God Veeky Forums is so fucking retarded.

Even the fucking Accord still gets a manual. Wherever you saw that rumor is memeing.

>THE ENTIRE RANGE

So literally just the NSX?
