It's ridiculously easy to drive, they literally let 14 year olds drive them, but the fast guys can still have fun with them.
Lfs is very toaster friendly, has great graphics, and full racing rules.
If you really want to be shitter friendly you can even use success ballast.

Even simracing has a massive issue with series convergence, which is why everything generally ends up as FIA GT3, GTP or some other FIA clusterfuck of the same 6 figure sportscars on the same international courses you could run on iRacing, Assetto Corsa, rFactor, rFactor 2, Automobilista and the like.
Those types of cars are the ones that every simracer flocks to like flies to a shit, which is why there's no real love for anything smaller like Skip Barber or Formula BMW or Clio Cup outside of one or two niche series that will have sub-10 racers participating. Outside of the FIA GT3 cars there really is nothing to attract racers to that level, especially in the more rookie levels of racing since that is generally the standard for racing even here.
Credit to turnleft though, even with their shitshow of using ARCA and the current anti-rFactor sentiment here it seems to be doing surprisingly well for a post-2015 /ovg/ league that isn't /ovgt3/.

It's a rather old title, and even in the modding scene it's clear people moved on to Assetto Corsa or rFactor 2 or just stopped entirely. The physics are fine for its age but being so old it doesn't have great FFB, tire/weather effects and graphics. Assetto Corsa focused on car porn and the ability to hotlap exotic cars around but it's missing a lot of stuff functionality that makes it a good game for a league on top of the horrendous DLC policy. rFactor 2 is somewhat better suited for a league game and has a lot of TECHNOLOGY AC doesn't have, but it suffered from a horrid pricing model until recently and the content right now isn't what would cater to the larger market. The Skip Barber content and the stock cars are also neat, but AC already has shiny FIA cars and Spa/Burgerkingring which pretty much invalidates anything rF2 could throw at it.
The only people I know here that are extremely against rFactor 1 are a loud minority who insist to use AC as a platform for leagues instead, even when it's lacking a large amount of systems for league use among other various technical issues including an abysmal multiplayer system. I'd go with rFactor 2 if I had to choose a next gen racing sim for league use as it takes everything rF1 had and improves on it while retaining the current gen technology on par with LFS.

AC has jack shit for mods and has unstable performance, shit choice desu. If anything, rFactor 2 is the way to go unless you're a graphics babby.
