Convince me not to buy an rx 8

can you guys convince me not to buy an rx8
I feel like i've fallen in love with this car and yet I can't find a good enough deal to get one
but i'm also worried that it may not be all I've built it up
also rotary general

If you can't afford to buy two you can't afford to own one. Apex seals are gonna blow, don't do it user.

Shit gas mileage for the low power rating. Overpriced for how often they break down.
those are the main reasons

I've read that if you re build the engine every 60k miles it'll run fine
is this true?
also that thing about if you can't buy 2 then don't buy one is good advice

Unless you plan on engine swapping don't bother. The renesis is a shit engine even by rotary standards.

I got stuck behind one a month ago; an R3 model. It was great. I already have a special snowflake mazda, but the RX8 R3 is #3 on my list. Get one; you may make my day someday.

#1: FD RX7
#2: NC Miata super20 replica
#4: RX4
#5: FC RX7

60k is a bit premature, 80-120k is more reasonable

but you still need to expect to need to rebuild the engine at least once

I have come to no conclusions from this thread
what are some alternative rotary rwds
I'd like it to be a little modern so I can blast euro beat
this one just seems so perfect other than the maintenance

>I'd like it to be a little modern so I can blast euro beat

Being modern isn't a prerequisite for blasting eurobeat.

this is true...

Just make sure you can afford the upkeep. The rotary maintenance on top off premium fuel plus shit mpg can get expensive.

...

Have another one.

burns oil and has engine failures out the ass, don't do it if you don't have deep pockets.

Get one with really low mileage. Like, legit low mileage, barely gets driven, not somebody who drives it a quarter mile everyday to the shops.

Then just use premix for the rest of the time you have it and it should be fine. I know a bloke with a Series 1 RX8, 140,000kms, perfect compression. Has been using premix since 60,000kms.

Do R3 even exist? I have never seen one IRL or on sale

I've seen them in mazda showrooms, sat in the black R3 they had.

Maintain a rotary properly.

Rev it a lot.

The RX8 is in terms of chassis none worse than any other car.

>Maintain a rotary properly.
>Rebuild it a lot.

FTFY

They're ugly as fuck

>budget exotic
I still don't get why people call them this. They are very plain looking.

no such thing as reliable rotary engine. everybody who buys these either forks out to have the chook cooker rebuilt or swaps in a more reliable engine that isnt a rotary
