Would this be a good bike to daily as a supermoto and occasionally ride in dirt trim? I know the DRZ400 is the "standard" sumo, but is this example too old to make a solid, reliable dual-sport/supermoto?

Also, if you were to offer a 2006 SV650S with ~10,500 on the clock for this DRZ, how much (if any) cash would you ask for on top of the trade?

Post nice dyno sounds.

Not as good sound quality but still gr8

Does anyone have any experience pairing Senas together for intercom? I have a 10C and just got a 20S for a passenger to use and am gonna have an aneurysm because apparently I'm too retarded to get this shit to work.

V4s (and crossplane I4s) are just the best sounding engines, can't wait to hear Ducatis new V4 superbike.

youtu.be/ZnMdRqgN878

Looks pretty good m8, it's got like no miles on it. I've got 40k km on mine and it's just starting to burn oil a little, but I have a feeling the previous owner rode it like a nig on a stolen dirtbike for the 30k. They are good bikes

rideapart.com/articles/break-new-engine

I'm daydreaming about the bike I'm saving for, by end of summer. Is there a mathematical way of working out the ideal rev-ranges to wear in? What do you guys personally do to break in a new bike?
Rin a diseased carpetmuncher. Uses her shitbaiku to....

>shitbaiku
take that back, the early 80's katana is god tier

Open throttle and go up and down through gears.

When you get a new bike both the manual and the dealer will tell you what rev ranges to stay within and for how long. The manufacturers have a good handle on how to break their bikes in and it varies from bike to bike so listen to what they tell you.

this comic looks fucking retarded, how do people read that?

>katana 400
>no second comment

Who makes the best "sport bike"?

Kawasaki Ninja 300r
Honda CBR 300r
Yamaha r3
Suzuki gsx 250r
KTM rc390

We ride bikes, talk to each other about bikes, and there's a painfully obvious reason you don't get the jokes...

None of those are sports. Don't waste your money on any of them. Get a 750 gixxer. Ride it in cuck mode if you have too.

Those aren't sportbikes, but the rc390 is the best of those.

What makes the suzuki a best?

Go-fas: Ninjette
Not blow up after five hours at redline: cbr300r
Cheat on engine displacement, then fall apart anyways: ktm
Best minisport: cbr250rr, old. Second; cbr250rr, new.

Suzukiphilia, obviously. These people are irrational.
Are you after a sub-500 for licensing? Trying to get practice on a smaller displacement before real riding® ?
If it's for the street, buy the Honda. If it's on a track, ninjette.

Test one and find out. Price is a huge factor where I live. Gsxr750 is cheaper by thousands compared to cbr600/r6 (gsxr600 is even cheaper still but you may as well get a 750 since it's as small and light as a 600 with torque like a 100). It's my 4th Suzuki and never had a mechanical problem even on one with 100,000 miles

Is there anything wrong with leaving my rear shock at the highest preload? Will it wear the shock out faster?

I just want a little bike to tool around on.

I probably should just bite the bullet and find a drz 400 for my second bike.

No tracks near me for hundreds of miles and my roads nearest me are less than stellar.

Enough dirt roads for a lifetime tho.

>CBR400RR
>four cyllinders

why the fuck don't we get this instead of 500cc parallel twins

Hard break in. High load, low-mid RPM.

Anything else is a meme

there is also a low-budget option

youtube.com/watch?v=J4qF1I4EV6E

Don't know your street to dirt ratio, but would a cb500x work for your purposes? It's cheap, economical, and can handle just about any beginner dirt rides. If you decide to commit further, there's even a rally raid kit to turn it into a proper mini-adv.
I think leftovers are still going for somewhere around the cost of a new cbr300r...

How heavy are you?

Not very but I not infrequently have a passenger and I can feel the suspension bottom out with both of us on the bike

Mod 2 test today lads

chrome > plastic

Not even a contest

good luck m8

>chrome

You don't need to worry about how the plastic looks to you or other people because you can only see the mirrors, handlebars, and gauges and other people can only see a vaguey bike shaped blur.

One of the reasons italian bikes look so good is because they spend so much time parked.

Don't be jealous. The domestic license beater has been p-twin since 2013.

>Honda hates japan as well

At least I am not alone in my suffering

Oh right. Perfectly fine it's what it's there for mate.

I just want to know if I should readjust it when I'm riding solo to reduce wear or increase lifespan or what have you?

too bad it's shit

Absolutely. Find out how many turns it needs for both. Ie full, then six turns back. Then it will take 30 seconds to do.

It would be pretty good if honda gave a damn about the sheer size and weight of the thing.

It's not just heavy, it's fucking huge. Sportbikes look like scooters next to those things.

That's what I thought, just wanted to confirm with some random fuck on the internet!

this is like vaporwave bike porn

It also makes a pretty pitiful amount of power for an 800cc v4

use hondafag lingo

it's "understressed", "street tuned", and "easy to ride"

>t. a complete faggot

It's good that you put "sport bike" in quotes, because none of those are anything even close to an actual sport bike.

High load, huh?

So like, tow a boat trailer with your sportbike?

Retard.

real sportbikes are high revving 600-750cc machines with short wheelbases and reduced rake and trail for sharper handling

real sportbikes can't tow boats because they have zero torque

Great bikes. My mate bought a tt600 for 1500 for a track bike. Has spent 2 years tracking it every month at least with no probs. Has only ever needed oil and filters, goes very well, sounds good, and can mix it with modern 600's.

TT's are tanks, though oddly they're rather rare.
That said, so are prolink XR500's etc.

...

Agreed. I have ridden it a few times, and it is sweet as. Would not have any hesitations in racing one...particularly in BEARS (Australia)

Anyone still here? I'd love to hear some more opinions.

honda a shit

Have you actually ridden any Honda's? If so which ones...then your opinion might count.

i've owned 3 and it doesn't matter which ones I say because you'll go "oh those don't matter anyways"

I had one.

Its a dirtbike that will go 30-40k between rebuilds, and then its just an excuse to big bore it. Its a good bike.

>Not only needing to buy two bikes over his entire lifetime
>Knows about Honda

Stuck with this at the moment. It's heavy and worse on gas than a 3k civic. The only thing I like is not having to align the rear wheel, ever.

Surely, there's something better?

I want to fuck the Suzuki

NZ?

There surely is

That isn't italian?

What do you want?

Only one side per swingarm
>500cc
Fast for what it is, not the 200HP 5l v8 of motorcycles
40mpg+ city
Fuel injection
Adjustable preload and damping front and rear or well sprung for a 140lb male from the factory
Does not break down more than once every 100 years

So yeah, another VFR.

>Only one side per swingarm
That right there basically limits it to euro bikes, or the VFR only.

>I want a different bike but it has to be the exact same
k then

I'd accept two sides to a swingarm if it were set up to keep the axle perfects aligned for chain adjustments, or if it was a shaft drive.

My first bike was a GS500 and I lost sleep over whether or not the wheel was really on straight.

It looked straight, the chain alignment tool looked straight, and the swingarm marks were pretty close, but you never know,

New cummies when?

>all these typos

For my first big bike, I can't decide between either

>1999 VFR800 30,000 miles, £1990
>2006 F800ST 20,000 miles, £3290

I test rode both of them, they both seem like excellent bikes, what would you guys go for?

I actually hate Honda's. But I have a a Cbr 600 as a wet bike (cos I don't give a fuck about crashing it). And I must say it is a consistent and reliable bike...just fucking boring compared to everything else, its just bleh.

probably the cheaper one but i'm literally a jew

There aren't enough v-twin sportbikes to satiate my desire.

You can sell it to someone who really cares about this beauty you monster ;_;

Go for the ultimate wog bike...Aprilia
Pretty bulletproof. I run an 01 RSV on the track. Awesome bike, Ohlins Front and rear suspension standard, Great bang for your buck.
And apparently the RSV4's are even better.
