Underpowered vehicles general

You may only post in this thread if you have:
>the base model of any vehicle as your daily driver
>A non turbo vehicle that has the option of being a turbo
>a V6 instead of a V8
>your vehicle is under 120 Horsepower

Post plans for your vehicle what you like about it what you don't but most of all talk to other people who feel the pain when people complain about "muh horsepower"

>mfw twin turbo
>mfw 5 speed manual
>mfw 1994 best model year
>mfw black my favourite colour

No v6 mustang complex here. I bought top tier because I wanted to be top tier. It feels good to be top tier

boy, do i love showing up to autocross in

See now were talking this is what it's all about everyone!

I used to have the base model bugeye wagon, wasn't too bad. It was a little lacking in the straights but I still managed to outpace a lot of newer cars on the twisties

Not my vehicle but I have to daily it.

160hp and 7000lbs empty.... Fuck me.

Looking at your car I am having a hard time picturing you as cleancut, well-groomed or an approachable person

Best case is you are a non-threatening skinny fat NEET looking dude

Sorry for unsolicited judgement, BTW I actually like your car

Almost my Commodore, luckily it's 150kW.

Base model, 4 cylinder eclipse at 140 hp. Yet I still drive at higher speeds than 99% of people I see on the road. I really don't know what to do to improve it. I've had exhaust work done but that's about it.

>base model
>N/A
>1.8 I4
>105 hp
>fwd
>get more compliments than with any other car I've owned

>base eclipse with exhaust

You fucking ricer

I guess my f250 could have had a V10 but the 5.4L is plenty.

At least I bought a flowmaster muffler so the exhaust doesn't sound like a tin can, but you're not wrong.

Where I live the import car scene is pretty minimal though. I only see other riced jap cars probably once every week or two.

Drove a 90s motorhome one of those in NZ.
>Wheel spin
>At 3pm
>On ice

Exhaust brakes were good.

shit, I have a '14 tacoma base model, but the i4 is 159hp.

I think my Accord was rated at about 120hp when it was new... 28 years and 440,000 miles ago.

And that's despite being one of the higher trims, with optional fuel injection!

I drive a 2008 Subaru Outback 2.5 Limited
My plans for it are to sell it and buy an STI or Evo because I don't want a dike car

2016 Suzuki Swift, 1.2 4cyl engine, somewhere around 80hp.
Base model, steelies, not even a fucking tachometer.
I don't know why I didnt drove it into a cliff yet

Just looked up my old car on the internet and found this pic. Mine looked just like this. I am sorely tempted to buy this car again.

Should I?

can you believe there are minivans faster then this?

Sad part is, 86fags will defend this car to the end. Just point out the massive torque drop on their power curve and watch them rage.

Although I'm hopeful because Subaru keep teasing an sti model with an engine upgrade

why are those celicas so cute? why did they stop making them?

Such a failure. Literally all they had to do was put in a toyota inline 4 instead of the boxer abortion and nobody would be bitching.

1.3l 75hp, 0-100km/h in 12 sec

no. by now that car would be 30 years old. You can get newer cars that have that kind of fun with new technology that are not falling apart.

>vortec heads and its more like 300hp
HAHAHAHAHAHA
You mean 190hp
TBI 305s are shit at power production from top to bottom.

It's not quite the top model, 2+0 TTs were more expensive but the 2+2 handles better anyway
Yeah it did come in non turbo and I have two ya got me
Only came in v6
Makes approx 350 wheel at 14 psi

150wtf my integra was more than that

My vehicle probably has 120 hp or less after power loss. Do I still count?

>115 HP when new 27 years ago

>probably not breaking 100 now

>mid-tier DX, basic bitch i4

>slushbox

>24-2500 pounds tho

what do i win?

Middle-low trim, lowest engine. I think it counts.

59hp, 2013 supermini. 5 speed manual.

Posting from mobile, sorry no pics.

it would be great if I didn't spin it out and fuck up my whole back end drive assembly. Had to fix a control arm, but now it rattles like a motherfucker and I'm too broke rn to get it fixed.....

220 hp btw. How could I forget.

are these actual hybrids? or does it only have the electric motor so people can think it's a hybrid?

I wish I had 120 HP :(

Is that a weird Nissan Cube knockoff?

You call that underpowered? I DD A fiat 126

04 Scion xb. 1.5 liter 107 HP 5 speed

Low pressure 90 hp turbodiesel. Still more torque than any petrol option though.

sooo much fun, amazing handling and you got to thrash the gear box to make some power.

It's also the cheapest bade model you could get from 2003.
They make 210kW now, with the newest V8 putting out 300kW with room for improvement.

still going to buy one, don't really care about beating mini vans, just care about having fun.

>110hp
doesnt feel underpowered tho, cuz it only weighs a ton
took the spare out for hektik weight loss

Might I add that the my Commodore () also does 110Nm more than your integra.
Different cars with different purposes.

What about if I have a v8, but it puts out less power than a modern v6?

WHO /STEELIES/ HERE

It is a hybrid, just a retarded one. They could have gotten around the same gas mileage with a way lighter car if they hadn't made it a hybrid.

>V6
>161HP

hoenstly it's underpowered as fuck, how do i into big murrican engines

>tfw 86Hp
>it's okayish 90% of the time
>fuel consumption is a bit too high for this slow slow
>costs next to nothing to have
I do like my shitbox, and i plan on buying a new basic-trim sedan, but it'll be a d-class for sure.

Is it 4x4?
Does this rust?

>Is it 4x4
it is not

>tfw no VR4

>Does this rust?
a bit

overall it's very reliable but after two years i find myself wanting something more

Living in Eastern Europe and being a student can only get you so far. Though I wouldn't consider it underpowered as it doesn't struggle when accelerating and I can easily overtake most cars I meet on the road (again, Eastern Europe so modern cars gotta beware of pic related).

2014 mazda 3.

If you got the manual transmission you got the 150 hp 2.0 engine, which you can't boost. Sure, there are bolt ons and a 93 octane tune, but you'll end up with...oh, about the same power as the 2.5, but with 2/3 of the gas mileage. Its adequate as is.

At this point all I want to do is get the stupid diverter valve replaced so my heater will work, and try to get it looking nice, but I couldn't afford a new car and the paint is full of pits and scratches from bugs, gravel roads, scraping up against a house, and getting caught in the hailstorm after the eclipse and I made the mistake of using generic touch up paint, not that I know if the stuff Mazda sells perfectly matches.

If I can get the paint to look okay then MAYBE I'll install LED DRL headlight units and tail light bulbs and put a long spoiler light in in the top of the back window, get some decent rims, and if I'm crazy, swap in the skyactiv-x (and a JDM AWD transmission).

305s can't make power due to smaller cylinder bores killing air flow compared to the 350.

I've always loved that gen Celica. When I was a delivery driver I got trained in one of those (yes you have to go in one training day) and it was awesome. Guy bought it for 500 and when it died he left it at a gas station

I have a base model golf with a non-turbo (the TDI/GTI having turbos) but I have 170bhp :/ may I still poast?

>60hp new, probably half that now

>97 f150 short box, short bed, style side, 4x4 with the 4.2L 6 cyl giving 220hp new. 2 ton GVW
yeah she's not fast at all. probably gives like 160 hp now too. rough as hell idle and never starts up on the first try

112 crank baby

Yep at the crank or in the wheels doesn't matter as long as people shit on it for being slow

I'll count that I suppose

If it's a non turbo model of a model that comes with the option of a turbo you may poast

>TFW literally too fast for America

No, I have 3 ae86s, that's my buddy's car.

Plz just buy a shitbox E36 my man, you'll feel so much better :

I have the most powerful non-ST Fiesta, so I suppose I sort of qualify.
it makes 140ish bhp from a naturally-aspirated 1.6 petrol

had to drive a base engine e450 for my old work, 5.4L v8 with get this, 250 HORSEPOWER to the rear wheels which is the only place it should ever be, and only 280 torque. Took 27 secs to 60 empty and god knows how long loaded

Hi there! I'm surprised one of these hasn't shown up yet.

>2005 fiat 'cento
>54, count'em, 54 hp
>at home in parking lots (2nd gear is fun!) and cramped streets
>still able to deliver on the highway

No, you will not drag race with a mouse, but still damn fun all around. I miss it, I do.

Horsepower is what you make of it.

Daily drove this thing for about 2 years. I loved it until I got another car and realized just how shitty it was. No one will ever want to buy a 220k mi tempo, so I still have it and drive it occasionally.

Nearly 4000 pounds/1800kg with no driver and nothing in it. 101hp/240nm diesel engine.

Its fine as long as its just me, a passenger, the toolbox and perhaps a bed with some cans of diesel, equipment and whatnot - but as soon as I'll load the bed heavy and hook up a trailer like pic related with a 800 pound snowmobile, fuel, pulk, comms equipment and so on hills become really fucking tough. I can get up without issue, but I can pretty much never get close to the speedlimit

>tfw your base model makes 184 lb-ft
You have to get it over 2,500 RPM to feel anything, but for a base model it's actually not that bad. Plans are GTI wheels, sport springs+shocks, window tint, and not much else.

Such is life in the 2.2 Sonoma

I drive a california spitfire 1500. Had less than 60hp from the factory, probably has like 30-40 by now. It takes like 40 seconds to get to 60.

I like my sillycar, I just dislike the fact there not much aftermarket for the 5SFE to tinker with and cannot really justify a 3SGTE swap

forgot pic related, not mine but almost identical

swift a cute

I have a 98 hatchback that had 90hp factory so I know that feel.

Nice 944, user. I've been looking at a 944 as a possible next car and would like to know how much you got yours for with its mileage, etc. Thank you

98 Eclipse na/nt

I just found out that the evo8 motor is practically a drop in replacement so im researching the feasibility of it

What gen? Theres a great website with tips about how to push more power out of the gen 2 420a without turboing. I think the most you can get is like 180ish hp but that requires basically rebuilding the block
