Are V6 mustangs okay?
I'm thinking of doing true duals with cherrybomb glass packs
When did we get "our" general??
>CAPTCHA:
CYCLISTS MANGAS
Any hopes for the 7th gen? The new dual-injection Coyote is awesome, but I hope they can shed 250ish pounds off it and make a bit smaller. Bring it back to 4th gen size/mass.
Am I the ONLY one that's curious as to what a modern foxbody would look like?
Like if they made it tomorrow what would it look like?
>Fag General
Why don't you all meet up and have a orgy or run into crowds?
Drive a real man's car! Camaro or either a Chally.
>can't turn
>can't see
also ugly af
Like a New Edge probably, which ironically still looks more modern than a five years old Mustang.
I had someone on here call my GT turbo a svo, then claimed it wasn't even a real svo just a lx that was turbo
>Camaro
>Challenger
If I wanted a tractor engine I would just buy one. The Coyote likes to be revved higher than those and has constant torque throughout the power band thus making it more fun
But a new edge doesn't look like a foxbody hatchback
I meant what a hatchback foxbody esq looking modern mustang would look like

thots on this?
Shitty shoop but if I could get my hands on a facelifted 5th gen, I'd try and but this together.
Bretty good. Better than the stock front end.
>stangfags care about having no blind spots
man the fuck up, only pansy losers like you worry about blindspots.
>also ugly af
>form over function
stangfags everybody... not only that your lard car was made by WOMEN. LMFAO...
Sn95 "forsaken and forgotten" Stangs reporting in
You'll definitely get some sound out of it, but I wouldn't go too loud otherwise you'll get a lot of hate. I straight piped my 2004 V6 and liked it.
Save the mod money toward a GT in a few years.
I've had this thing a year and I've spent more time repairing it than driving it. This week I get to take the engine apart and replace everything related to the timing chains and oil pump.
I hate owning it with a passion. I thought pre bailout American car quality was a meme but holy shit.
>Are V6 mustangs okay?
Happy graduation, Emily!
>I'm thinking of doing true duals with cherrybomb glass packs
Don't do it. Every time I see a modded-looking Mustang in traffic I wonder if it's a GT, then the driver hits the gas and you hear the weak V6 fart that could easily be a Ranger pickup with a hole in its muffler.
Your car's worth about $1000 so putting any money into pointless mods doesn't make sense. Save your money and buy a GT.
God damn that sounds amazing user, what's the set up?
I've been clutch shopping, leaning towards an exedy 500. Anyone got a favorite aftermarket clutch to recommend?
Whatever you get, don't go overboard with the weight. Somebody put an ALL THE STAGES BRO clutch into my car before I bought it, and after six months my left leg looked like it belonged to another person.
Straight pipe, h-pipe and muffler delete
New ones are ugly.
Gen 1 are pure sex.
Odd, my experience is the exact opposite. Have a bone-stock 2002 GT and it's been flawless since I owned it. Yeah, the interior is kinda shit, but I grew up on early 2000s Ford, so I kinda saw it coming. What makes yours so miserable? I thought 4.6 2v were bulletproof?
>What makes yours so miserable?
Everything. I bought it because it was super clean. I was looking for turnkey car that wasn't a project. Instead it's been my biggest car project ever.
>everything brake related
>everything clutch related
>everything suspension related
>everything steering related
>lots of interior work
>hidden rust under the trunk
>blew off a heater hose while driving
>now timing chains
>I thought 4.6 2v were bulletproof?
The basic internals are. Problem is Ford modular engines eat timing chain guides. Usually the tensioners fail, the guides get broken, then the chain wears while plastic bits get sucked into the oil pickup.
People don't talk about it a lot but it's super common. Especially over 100K miles.
Was at the car wash earlier today and some guy came in with a MINT foxbody. Had a 5.0 swap - thing sounded monstrous. He had some tacky chrome wheels like your pic, I wish people wouldn't do that. Go with something black or gunmetal, especially if the car is a dark tone.
Overall it was dank though. Some manlet in an Audi kept giving it nervous looks as the guy had it idling and made a shitload of noise (probably muffler delete too).
>stock wheels
>stock antenna
Funny, the antenna actually isn't stock
You're supposed to get RID of the antenna my negro. It looks like shit up there. Only trucks and SUVs can have tall hood antennae.
This, but I prefer the 2nd gens tho.
Mustang II is regarded as a hideous car though my dude.
64-66 best body style.
69-70 A BEST.
Where is the foxbody in the pic
Oh no, not the Mustang II.
I thought it was this was second gen Mustang because of the body style upgrade
This is a second generation Mustang.
The Mustang II is not the same thing, it's actually worse. Second gen stangs are still gross and mostly hated, though.
And this is the Mustang II - considered a part of the second generation as well, though not introduced until 1973. Noticeably worse in every fucking way.
Wrong. Mustangs before 71 were boring as fuck. Dang boomer dick riders.
lol what the fuck....
Looks like a hammerhead.
>before 71
>boring as fuck
1971 is literally the beginning of their downfall you idiot fuck nigger. Not only did they gain nearly 1,000lbs but emissions regulations and the fuel crisis GUTTED them of power. They were fat, slow, heavy pieces of ugly shit until 2005.
You are absolutely a piece of shit and I want you to die.
Yeah the 70s were absolute trash when it comes to power. Pro tip: it doesn't fucking matter anymore because you can stuff in a built engine without hassle. Thought we were talking about BODY STYLE exclusively. I'm tired of looking at boring boomer nostalgia holy grail shitmobiles. The Camaro and Mustang did not become interesting looking until the 70s, as much as you may hate to hear it grandpa. They looked like cars for pussies, and I'm the biggest domestic whore you'll ever meet.
>severe ignorance: the post
>liking nasty 70's/80's malaise shit just so you can be different
I tire of your faggotry. I can only imagine how exhausting it must be for your family.
I very much admire the performance of the early Camaros and Mustangs, seriously. Especially the Camaro since it ate the Mustang alive (another unpopular sentiment for this Mustang thread). Huge part of automotive history undoubtedly and super cool and significant cars. Just tired of looking at them because they aren't all that cool looking IMO, and everywhere is VERY oversaturated with them.
Yeah it's because they're beautiful cars.
Christ, you probably jerk off to trap porn because you're tired of looking at vaginas.
Heh, I would seriously buy one just to put it to good use by abusing the shit out of these on our back roads.
I'd also like to add that maybe it's part of having been to Mecum auctions and other big boomer nostalgia gatherings and experiencing the shit first hand, but the predictability and repetitiveness has really taken its toll on me. And again, apart from that, their styling is overall boring to me and I've NEVER liked them very much, not when I was a kid who knew nothing apart from what my dad and grandpa thought was cool.
It's because of boomer nostalgia and dickwaving you dildo. Nothing inherently wrong with it but that's it.
Also the King Cobra Mustang 2s were baller. Blow me homos.
Christ, don't conflate your hatred for boomers with hatred for beautiful, groundbreaking cars. I hate boomers too - we all do. But hating on 1st gen Camaros and Mustangs is just plain gay, nigga. Furthermore, liking malaise-era bullshit like whitetrash Camaros and Mustang IIs is ULTRA-GAY. Only trailer trash covet these cars. They're even worse than foxbodies, which any decent person hates with a passion.
Any decent car enthusiast appreciates all cars. Which I do, for what they are. As previously stated, I love 1st gen Camaros and Mustangs for their significance and prowess. I hate how "overvalued" they are, for lack of a better term, and how saturated everything is with them, and even worse, nothing interesting is ever done with them. I also just don't think they're that great looking, which is just personal preference, however unpopular it may be.
you have shit taste
why didn't you just say that from the start
To each their own brodie. I'll buy up my ugly white trash shit boxes and proceed to laugh my way to the bank when I sell them off in the future once the trend shifts, because that's all it's about is trends. You can't dare to have DIFFERENT taste because grandpa will belittle you, I get it.
Don't hate on the cobra rims son, the factory ones were god awful
ITT my Mustang's generation is better than your Mustang's generation.
That's what I've noticed reading ITT
>Tfw 2014 V6 @ 18000 miles
May super charge it. Dumb, I know
>>Tfw 2014 V6
Happy graduation Hannah!
Start this thread over with foxes in the OP image.
Fuck off.
Thought I'd post my co-workers glorious mustang story to share.
>Finance 2007 Mustang GT for $12k
>80k miles, has all the ford racing goodies in the engine
>putting down some pretty good power for a 4.6
>bought a warranty, just to be safe
>sure enough, few years later, cam issues
>sends it into ford, replaces cams
>some time later, cams bust again
>sends it into ford, replaces cams
>various suspension parts are busted
>sends it into ford, new suspension components
>transmission syncros are struggling
>sends it in to ford, turns out all syncros are bad, plus some kind of recall
>replaces the entire transmission
>gee whiz, I bet you can't guess what happened next
>cams
>send it into ford, they finally get the foresight to think "maybe something is causing the cams to die"
>figure its probably cheaper to replace the entire engine at this point
>so they do
>buddy gets a brand new 4.6 with all brand new ford racing internals
>short time after that, guy side swipes him
>gets $3k from their insurance since he had a dashcam
>entire car repainted
At this point, he's sitting on an 07 GT with a brand new engine, brand new transmission, brand new suspension, and fresh paint job
>at the paint shop
>guy comes up and talks to him about his GT
>offers to buy it, cash, 14.5k
>buddy only has $1k left on his finance, takes him up on it
>Hes now on the prowl for a 5.0
Pic related, not his stang but looked exactly like that. I wish I could upgrade to a newer, better version of my car simply because things kept breaking. I'm still stuck with my FWD shitbox, but I'm happy for him all the same.
hey, i have an svo
actully i had two, i rolled the first one on a hill
Lol great story
Loved how it slowly turned into a brand new fucking car, at that point I would've just fucking kept it
Just curious, what's the price range for a gen 1 V8 small block in the US?
Here in Europe it's about 25k for a good condition hardtop and 40k+ for a fastback.
