Other than allocating more memory for the game to use, there isn't much you can do.

Don't use unbalanced mods. Where's the fun?

The challenge of fighting against a superior force?

You use them when you conquer everybody in Nex as every faction

That's a IBB ship from Interstellar Imperium, it is supposed to be powerful (mostly because they function as one-of-a-kind boss ships)

I feel a bit bad for putting medium missiles on the large slots for my Conquest, but I just love destroying shields with the storm needlers and then swarming with micro missiles.

sabots are vanilla, user

just use a MIRV

man those hockey pucks are ugly

what are those hyper ugly purple weapons? gross

>check New Galactic Order thread on the forums
>update probably never
just fuck my shit up, senpai

i WILL fuck your shit up if you play that trash mod

isn't Integrated Targeting Core strictly better than Dedicated Targeting Core? what even is the point of DTC?

DTC is free

>complain about trash mods
>doesn't pick it up and fix it
And you call yourself a fan?
Not even super complex code stuff, just changing some XML file's parametrs.

yes, and the point is that you can install it without finding the blueprint

>xml

smdh for so many reasons

it's an inelegant solution but its because DTC is auto unlocked and ITU is not

now that ITU is so hard to get, it feels kind of special to get it and finally start making sniper destroyers and stuff

>Deliver food to Asharu for a reputation boost
>Your reputation with the Independent is well established and not affected by this

Why

I want muh Conquest

Also what good is there in palling around with the Perseans?

>Also what good is there in palling around with the Perseans?

all the herons you've ever dreamed of

easy access to apogees too if you want one of those for some ungodly reason

Conquest is trash. Onslaught's are more common and better. Conquest sure looks cool though.

That trash has 1200 base flux dissipation, twice that of an Onslaught

>That trash
Sure is.

and 20k cap and it's still garbage

>Go to save game after a lot of work.
>Game freezes mid-save.
>Force quit it.
>Open up starsector again.
>Loads perfectly fine and picks up exactly where I last saved before the crash, no need to revert to backup or anything.

if your game is freezing mid save, you need to allocate more ram

How the fuck am I meant to engage this shit

It always ends the same way

>Eat shit from Enforcer gangbang
>Eat shit from 4 whole Pirahnna squadrons
>Eat shit from offscreen Harpoons

well that fleet is twice as big as yours

>Fully fitted Conquest with 1 D-mod
>Worth less money to sell than a Tempest
hmmmm.
Really makes you think...

If you were a Devastor Dominator with Safety Overrides, you could run a train on half of that fleet, while the rest of your cruisers and carriers hold the line.

>attack remnant drones
>reputation drop from all factions
>nexerelin made remnant forces neutral
REEEEEEEE

Update to 0.8c son, it's fixed now

>tfw you retake Epiphany from PL and you get this
Is it good? Also don't look at the price, it's 3 times higher than vanilla cause I tinkered with settings.json

its ugly that's what it is

What's the best weapon to kill fighter swarms with?

punktskydd cluster

also locusts are pretty nuts now

more fighters

Omens

Ok I got myself a Gryphon, and extra Eagle, two Vigilances and a Wolf how do

>no dominator

prepared to get dominated son

i've managed to make a torpedo that teleports past shields and detonates inside the enemy ship

probably gonna let that one sit...

>two Vigilances
but why

Anyone else's omnifactory fucked?

You could probably balance that one out with
>bright flashing colors to ID it
>let it go past the entire ship if it doesn't have shields on
>really low damage
>just hitting the engines salamander-style

>cheating

...

i made an amblaster mirv instead

still needs a lot of tweaking, and graphics, but i think i finally got the core mechanic working nicely

pfft that's still detonating on the outside of the hull

I assumed that was what was supposed to happen, untill you got stuff it could make. (aka, by having AI cores and selling shit).

>not liking nazis in spess
it's like you don't even want to have fun

...

>Enforcers have 5 medium ballistic slots
>200 base flux dissipation

What's the point? Damn you for tricking me into this awful purchase, that's all my money gone

any way to make disabled then recovered ships keep their weapons?
Its annoying as fuck to keep refiting them

1) slap on some HE ballistics and sabots
2) charge forward

>Slap on a bunch of needlers and hammer/reaper torpedoes
>Have needlers linked for burst shield overwhelming
>Spam torpedoes to destroy them

You want to minimize the time you are actually firing so set-ups that have hight burst damage are the best.

HEAVY

MACHINE

GUN

I want to field a fleet of wolves now

This build is my guilty pleasure, but heavy machine guns seem strangely rare in my game so I can't do it properly. Currently I have a SO Enforcer with three Plasma Flamers and vulcans on the side mounts.

> found victory battleship
>what do

be happy, it's one of the best battleships.

Is it really? I've fought some sims against it and it tended to lose against my capitals although mine might have been benefiting with officer skills

But is it better than paragon?

>thinking in literal terms within a completely malleable, granular combat system

I mean it's open to individual preference, but the built in guns are top notch and the turret / hartpoint placement is pretty good. its one of my favorites at least. might not be straight up better than a paragon, but I prefer it because its faster

>in hyperspace on SB
>huge ass pirate fleet comes out dark mode
one pixel in front of me and starts attacking me
>I die
are these fleets just there to fuck you in the ass and punish you for spending your money? Or can they be avoided somehow?

and this is why you never field lone capitals

an onslaught could probably handle this with two heavy needlers in the rear

all you really need to do to handle it is back into a corner of the map so they have to come at you head on

That's meta gaming

There are no corners in space

Were you just leaving a system? There's a 1/3 chance or something for the game to spawn a pirate fleet near jump points whenever you're doing trade missions. Try using fringe jump points or Transverse Jump if you have goods that need to be delivered.

>cheating
>requires resources, AI cores, and tons of money
It's harder to use than salvaging.

no, not a trade intercept fleet, I know how to avoid those. Wasn't doing any missions at the time, the fleet just jumped me out of nowhere

In the end I couldn't remove Neutrino because I love their ship designs too much

I'm installing Blackrock. Let's see if my Pc can withstand 22 mods

all that really matters is ram allocation. I had 30+ mods running during 0.72, it can be done.

I have 4 gbs, RAM is not a problem.

My CPU simply can't handle the game. For some reason mods make CPU skyrocket usage during saving. THis activates a java process called janitor that searchs the comp for any extra CPU space to recycle. The the amount of CPU space it tried to recycle is 98% of the CPU space it managed to recycle, Java autokills the program.

tl;dr surface pro 4 tablets can barely run modded SS

>surface

lmao

>lmao

ayy

I dnno, I found one as a derelict then bankrupted myself trying to use it

It's only 1 large energy and 3 mediums forward facing, pretty fragile, the forward time thing is meme tier

wolves are probably one of the better frigates to field, the phase means they don't just die like idiots against larger ships

Had crashes too during saving back when I only had 4gb allocated. Increased it to 6gb and haven't had a crash since

Oh so they actually made it not cheating anymore, cool. I might actually try it then.

>be in askonia buyan FUELS
>blackrock declares war on sindria
>i am of the blackrock
>two dozen sindrian patrols go hostile
why is this allowed

I'm like 99% sure your faction will warn you ahead of time of impending hostilities

>giving money to the dick tattoos in the first place

no they didn't. maybe it was the sindrians who declared war actually.

Welcome to Mount & Blade

usually the faction will give you a warning a few weeks in advance

So what's the new strategy for taking out remnant battlestations?

>it was at this moment user new... he fucked up

About to invade Sindria in Nex
How big a fleet should I be expecting

>size 7 military market
pretty fucking big

How many Omens does it take to lock down a flagship? I feel like 3 or 4 could pretty much keep it floating through the void, getting EMP chained forever

not in nex they don't

you'll want at least 1000 marines if you want to take it with no risk after beating the defense fleet

sindria is probably one of the hardest planets to take, Ascalon is probably the only one that's harder

huh, alright.

Taking a clsoer look a Neutrino, it's pretty obvious that the kid learned better english as the years went by.

The big problem seems to be that he never bothered to actually update the old descritions with better ones. This is specially noticeable since he doens't seem to bother to update his mod thread beyond that changelog and link

multiple capitals big

The guy updating it now isn't the guy who originally made it.

Also his ship gun emplacements have some really OP sets. A frigate with two medium missile and one large energy? What the fuck

That explains some things. We really should edge him to update the old descriptions.

But I'm 90% sure he will refuse because "respecting the original author's intent" or some dumb shit.

Some user suggested making changes in starfarer.api.zip for cheaper supply upkeep. How do you compile it after?

>two Vigilances
user why.
Those things are the most suicidal ship in the entire game.

>A frigate with two medium missile and one large energy? What the fuck

kek I just put two pilums and a large beam weapon, gave it to an AI and it soloes the shit out of every destroyer. It's actually a Destroyer but way too OP for it's weight.

Vigilance in large battles have an exact contribution of jack shit.

They are super fast ships designed specially to harass other shits and escort.
