Man I love old school chevys. Ever beat on it? or do you rely on it?

>oh, and the endlessly looming and growing presence of body rust
>winter is coming, lord have mercy

>like it is it is job
yeah your

>Not switching to a thicker oil

Its like you want to damage your engine purposefully

I drove the poor old bastard over 100 km a day every day for 3 years before getting my motorcycle license. I routinely beat the piss out of it, it couldn't care less.

>1980

I'm running 10w30 on it you dense fuck. Why would I go even thicker during winter?

not mine but close enough

other than that is fucking tip top. The undercarriage has the dealer anti-rust coating + its been coated every other year at least, so it's caked on rustproof gooey crap, the tranny shift like it was brand new and it doesn't consume oil at all

That's bitchin. 350?

considering ive put like 100,000km on it in 4 years of driving it and bagged on it, way she goes. oil leaks are from a shop botching a engine rebuild, most of the stuff im fixing myself this summer

I don't know about that, it has never not started or stranded me.

Rusted to shit, wheel mounting bolts are gone to shit, rust on inside, autotragic, 2 tons, boring as fuck, steering wheel not attatched to wheels, boring as fuck car, too big, too much space, too heavy, heats up slow, no aux in, throttle by wire.
Engine is good tho and girls like it.
Never failed to start despite infrequent at best oil changes and 0 maintenance.
Overall i used to love it and then I got a sportscar as my summer daily and now I hate every second in this boring pos

Recently broke a differential got a replacement in the junkyard and new brake equipment for about $400. The front end was shaking during braking so i replaced tie rods. I think the ball joints are bad and the bed is loose. It was my dad's first car that he bought so i can't let it go. Im lucky my brother knows more about cars and keeps working on keeping it alive. He wants to do an engine swap so it can last even longer

Aside for those minor faults, not much else going on right now, but I am sure she will shit the bed as punishment for me thinking she'd go easy on me for a bit.
Just got the transmission serviced and replaced one of the ECUs. Transmission was 2500€, ecu was just 700€.

I see a lot of SUVs and trucks on here, so I might as well ask this. I want to get a SUV/Truck to get me to The middle of Wyoming from the middle of Colorado and back (just once), and then to use as a daily commuter. I’m looking to spend about $4,000. Any advice?

>Transmission was 2500€, ecu was just 700€.
Yikes, but is the car in good shape otherwise? No rust and such?

Torn steering rack bellows, small leak.
Needs a new clutch pressure plate. Check engine light due to higher rigged downstream O2 sensor. Not much else.

Got the new part to fix the PCV valve today, just been slacking off on installing it like I have been with fixing everything else

i actually used to never drive it in winter and parked it along with my Supra in the garage but now idgaf and drive it when theres not much snow, it just sucks its one of the few Royal Saloon without ABS or traction control. otherwise i drive my 4x4 Sambar in winter

I'd give up my home and just about anything else really before I gave up this truck

cylinder 8s got no compression and I'm guessing needs new rings. making progress, though, considering it wasn't even running when I bought it. now I just gotta tear it all apart (again)

Better pic.

I really want a Suburban as a secondary vehicle to my Civic. What should I expect? I have a couple of buddies who shill them and tell me how reliable they are but they're fixing shit all the time compared to my no problem 130k mile sedan.

At least pretty much everything else consumable on the car is new.
