I felt a really strong urge to fap to the Chinese lady from Beyond Earth. It was something about the way she stands and how she was always giving me "favors" in return for titanium. I remember that someone made a drawing or an edit of her back when the game was released but I don't remember where it went.

It scares me that you might actually think that is valid reasoning.

So my qt 2D anime waifu is real?

Is there proper ediquette for multiplayer civ games? >Join a room >Choose Teddy >Kicked >Join another room >Kicked before I can even pick a leader. >Join a third a room >Hello >Kicked >Join another room >Greet all 4 players in lobby >Pick teddy >Game starts >Map loads >You are the last human player on the team. What do?
Parker Butler
lol yes, it is real, because its drawn using real materials
Levi Powell
What about ghosts? Is ectoplasm organic?

Yeah, it's the hero version of the sentinel which is a creature you place down like a trap. The whole gimmick of the expansion is that everything revolves around gold so it doesn't have health regen, you have to feed it gold to heal it. More trouble than it's worth IMO.
Nicholas Martin
Ha, they added more hero versions for the traps? What's the hero version of the ember rift demon?

Unfortunately I haven't played it yet, my man. I've heard it was as fun as Civ V before its DLCs, so take that how you will.
David Ortiz
I found it was more enjoyable than Civ V on release, but not as enjoyable as CiV V +Expansions I played a bit of the new expansion for 6 but really I've just been trying to get a mod I made to work. Definitely kept me interested to the midgame, so It think it's GnK tier, but not BNW tier.
Asher Jenkins

whats the appeal of anything other than democratic in stellaris? Not being able to get regular influence rewards sounds really shitty
Nathan Rodriguez
Oligarchy is probably the best, since they give you +10% bonuses and you don't have to continually have elections. Democratic can also be really annoying mid to late game since any new systems will be from conquering your enemies and thus already have stations built.
Elijah Allen
usually I find it is best to go democratic early game when you can get tons of influence from doing its shit, but then once it is no longer useful its better to get rid of it for one of the other choices And its actually funny how few people I see that actually try to change ethics, civics or government ingame
Zachary Butler
Is Trajan's Rome still the best civ?

>tfw when you spawn next to Crystalline Asteroids This game is now easy mode. +40 minerals means that I will guaranteed fuck everyone's faces. Determined Exterminators just means I can turn pre-space empires into pure energy and unity.

Luke Rodriguez
>I remember that someone made a drawing or an edit of her back when the game was released but I don't remember where it went. Wouldn't surprise me.
There's plenty of actual Civ porn, even some that uses the Civ V models in Maya/SFM.
Lumber mills on a river are just as good as mines, better in the late game. Also Germany's IZ works different, +1 per resources, +2 per CH so you don't care about hills for the Hansa. That's +2 per CH adjacent, not too hard to get +4-6 on each of your half the price IZs. this Barbarossa's Germany for the extra district per city is absolutely god tier and the extra military slot means you can take economic focused government types if you want to and still play a reasonable number of military cards. Districts are power, and they get more sooner than everyone else. Just being able to start construction earlier even if you invest no turns is great since the cost scaling stops as soon as you start building a district. Their UD is also one that everyone should be building in every city as soon as it becomes available, and it gets a +2 production adjacency from the other district every city should have. Truly they are the master race.
Connor Long
Are there any kinda Civ-like games that lets you potentially just go like super massively Tall with only a single city/whatever. because I like the whole Idea of going tall with as few things as possible, but in most games I have played even when going Tall, you still end up playing almost exactly the same and recently I have grown attached to the Idea of just having one super mega-city half partially due to binge on Dredd comics
Jack Gomez
>United Empire intro gives impression of standard imperialist/militarist faction that subjugates the xeno or trounces them under foot >United Empire native pops only give 1 influence each >Contrast that with any other xenos that immigrate to your empire that give you good bonuses if you put them in their ecological niches and/or make them happy >Even in the faction questline you get a quest building that gives an industry bonus for each different race present in the system you build it in >Thus its actually encouraging you to make a happy patriotic multiculti empire with different aliens, compared with half the other factions that treat organic creatures indifferently or drains their life force or flat out physically devours them for happiness
Seriously when you hear the line 'make new patriots out of new peoples' one usually assumes it was just bullshit not something to take on its face...
Gabriel Stewart
>since the cost scaling stops as soon as you start building a district That's retarded
Jeremiah Bailey
So, Germany is still top-tier?

New expac worth the shekels for civ?

>Play rise and fall >Play Cree >Literally EVERY FUCKING GOOD CITY SPACE HAS -20 LOYALTY >Found there anyway because its literally my second city >Have a unit in the city >City declares itself free before I can even build a monument or my trader can get there
This is the most retarded shit ever. Its literally made me not want to play this game. My options were to settle in the middle of the desert with no water or lose my city. Who thought this was a good idea?
Sebastian Roberts
ask me again in 1 week
Kayden Fisher
how fucking far away from your capital are you settling
Nathaniel Perez
The standard 6 tile array. To give each city the maximum number of tiles and strategic resources.
Lucas Myers
try not to settle around other civs
Brody Reed
So, twelve tiles away?
Joseph Turner
Thats hard to do when the game loves to spawn five faggots around me every fucking game. Also I was 5 tiles away from them.
7ish. You try and make it so that there are 6 tiles between any given city. Yours or not. You cant always do that because of rivers and deserts and mountains but the goal is to give each city 3 tiles in every direction. This lets it claim as many resources it can as well as to work as many plots as possible.
John Adams
Thanks for the answer, friend. I appreciate it.
Landon Harris
>loves to spawn five faggots around me every fucking game. this is why i only play on modded maps
Elijah Nguyen
hands down the best civ
Jose Green
I met Egypt, Geiroga, Japan, and the Aztecs as well as two city states before my first settler was built. Then once my settler was where I wanted it that did not have a loyalty penalty FUCK ENGLAND settled right there. Once she did that I literally had no where to settle without a penalty. There was all this fucking open land but nope. Even the fucking desert tiles had -7 loyalty. It was shit desert too fucking nothing in there.
What maps do you use? Are they premades? I cant stand premades. Sucks all the fun of exploration out of the game.
Jason Rodriguez
It's weird. Every second game I play I'm basically alone in my own corner of the map, and the next, Cleopatra, Gorgo and Moctezuma spawns basically next to me.
Jaxson Stewart
Good to know -- Deutschland über allen.
Andrew Richardson
but that's not persia
Michael Turner
I always did the standard 6-array in Civ V, but in VI I'm not convinced it's appropriate any more. The mapping script seems to crowd you with enemy Civs more; district adjacency bonuses reward denser cities; and the district/wonder system cuts down on your farm space so it's harder to get the food to support 20-pop cities which would necessitate 6-array placement.
But then again I'm not really verg good at VI which may well be due to me misreading the meta. Thoughts?
Joseph Smith
Honestly I didn't bother with city mapping UNTIL six came around for exactly the reasons you mentioned. I need room for districts and everything else. I would rather have fewer cities than to be unable to expand my city because if I cover up that farm everyone will starve. I normally average 3 cities of my own empire a game. Some times I'm lucky and get 4 others not so much and I'm stuck with two. But this shit right here ruins it. Your first two cities should be exempt because of this crowding. I can understand when I'm placing it right on their borders but no. It was 5 plots away and our borders weren't even touching. After restarting and running into the same problem again I can only guess it exists specifically to punish trying to map out your cities because the best spots had the worst loyalty penalty. Its the same shit with the roads. They want things "Organic" and want to punish trying to plan and maximize. Which is fucking retarded with districts and wonders taking up map space.
Brandon Cook
>turn off alliance requests because the AI in ES2 spams them every turn >turns out that also turns off trade/science agreement requests

Fuck off Pericles.
Jackson Hill
The thing I dislike most about VI is the fucking roads. Maybe I have autism, but my absolute favourite part of V (and IV and III and SMAC and Call To Power) was getting railroads, building my superfast highways, and watching my reinforcement military units zip across the map from the factory to the front line in like 2 turns. And then VI takes away BOTH the ability to build highways AND the speed of highways even if you manage to meme your traders into laying it.
Anthony Murphy
Endless Space 2 end-game is annoying as shit. I have to declare war on almost everyone because they can steal my colonies with influence (even in a cold war)
Hunter Ortiz
i play the yet another map pack mod
Justin Cooper
Does that fiddle with how empires are spawned?
Jose Williams
You're not influential enough to drive those borders back? Or just play as spess trees, their systems can never be stolen.

In ES2 how long does it take for a newly captured system to come under my full control? I didn't even want these fucking systems and I'm badly overcolonized. Is it dependent on their population? Does leaving a fleet in orbit affect anything?
so far almost every single person I have met who are pissed off about the FTL changes falls into one of 3 categories >star trek Fags who are pissed off they can't roleplay their shit series 100 percent accurately anymore >memesters who are just bandwagoning on the hate without understanding how much better the changes actually make the gameplay >Idiots who think that more shallow content automatically=better (these are the same type of people who ruined/splintered the minecraft modding community by always NEEDing to play mods on the newest version of minecraft, even when all it added was a few cosmetic shit that could have easily been modded in to earlier versions)

I'm on the fence about whether to buy Rise and Fall now or wait for a sale. I'm sure it's broken and silly right now but I kind of want to experience the broken and silly.
Ryan Morgan
20 turns is the base I think, but this number can be affected by several different laws and abilities. There's also a "defense" option in ground combat to surrender the system but decrease the rate that the conqueror gains ownership.
