I personally can't wait to replace slingers and gutter runners with jezzails so I can fucking snipe heroes.
CA confirmed they are shitting out more garbage for r2
on one hand I want attila to get support (read: guard mode), but on the other hand I'm glad it isn't getting a "Trannies of the Mediterranean" DLC
All these ranged units being added in will shift the meta.
nth for best boy
Man, remember the fucking H Y P E when china was announced? Oh man, that was just this year. Oh god DAMNIT man, it was glorious!
this poster has not played ME since 2017
How is the chaos invasion? If I'm playing Kangz will stack after stack of beyond my comprehension still teleport into kangland from out of the Sahara and off the Atlantic coast of Africa? If so, roughly.whem does this happen?
If it's still as it was back when I last played I don't think I'll bother
Btw what's the next dlc for Warhams? Is it soon? I find it a bit odd there doesn't seem to be any news.
it'd be cool if they made them hero / large unit snipers that do high damage at long range but have a low (30 or so) unit size. they already have ranged units for every other occasion. I wonder how they'll implement ratling gunners.
I'm hoping they're basically unit of handgunners with no range and a tiny unit count. So all the dakka of a unit of handgunners concentrated from 1/8 the models. oh and occasionally some explode.
I haven't been able to play Skaven because they just don't feel complete with these units missing.
Not him but I just pretend demis don't exist at all and use Reiksguard and their flaming friends all the way through the game
Jezzails won't shift the ratto's meta too bad, considering their strength has always been in their artillery. Now, they have ranged artillery that is focused on infantry-sized single entity units. No doubt they will be uber expensive, low unit count, and can't handle a melee fight against a wet noodle.
Rattling-Gunners to me feel like they will be the replacement for the Flamethrower unit but with armor-piercing damage, higher reload rate, more ammo, and just as much armor as the rest of the weapons teams.
mfw CA finally gives us a new soymanni game in april
I must have been away from /twg/ for that fifteen minute period. Much as no one appears to care about Throne of Games or whatever it's called
So maybe handgunners on the flanks and outriders in the middle? What about the grenade outriders? Should I drop my ranged infantry units from 5 to 4 and add a rocket or cannon? Should I replace my mortars?
Yeah, the reiksguard were pretty impressive when I was killing the vampires. A reiksguard charge doesn't deal the consistent damage of the handgunners, but it probably knocked their morale bar down by 40%.
got nerfed, not nearly as crazy as launch mortal empires.
next DLC will be a lord pack like king & warlord, it's slated to arrive in may along with norsca for ME.
yeah I imagine they'll be the anti-armor counterpart of warpfire throwers with maybe just a bit more range than them.
Fantasoys being this buttblasted
shitposting goes up to eleven
Ratling guns and jezzails will change Skaven meta. Sisters of Averlorn and Shadow Warriors will give the High Elves much better shooting options. Same with Dark Elves receiving Medusa and Doomfire. Even Lizardmen get the Salamanders and Razordons.
Thank you. As you seem nice and willing to answer questions intelligently.
I take it there is no indication as to what those LL are?
Not even a "lolupvote narwhalbacon does not exist meme"?
Also how are the kangz? I've decided to buy the DLC now
caring about mp
eternally seething at fantasyfags who cucked them and stole their series
FANTASY TEAM – PRE-PRODUCTION:Currently in early pre-production, it is dark and quiet in this team’s corner of the studio. Visitors do not dally long.
Chorfs teaser for game 3
they haven't said who the lords are yet but if one of them isnt ikit claw with muh skaven weapon teams I will flip.
pretty good and fun, got all the important units. if you're a TK fan I can't think of any reason why you'd be unhappy with the faction.
Still sounds way too big for a jezzail unit - you used to bring them in incredibly small units - 10-12 sounds more than reasonable, if that.
Should be specialist monster / flying shooters.
Hey a reasonable reply. I never said there weren't options from the system but it's no more options than in previous titles so it doesn't add agency. Sure you always have the base decisions that have been present in sieging; however, the notion that it improved the agency is wrong because it just shifted the parameters.
Rome 2 was a highly defensive oriented game so the burden was on attackers in the form of heavier attrition and more difficult sieges, that script is simply flipped in Attila and with the escalation being automatic, I have no control over the destruction as opposed to if I assaulted the city with siege weapons manually after an extended siege in Rome 2.
So for these examples lets assume I have besieged a town for a couple turns and for whatever multitude of reasons I can't afford to wait it out. Say I want to starve out a town but deal as little damage to its buildings and garrison as possible so I don't have to repair it or take a big population hit; can't do that in Attila. Damage to settlement is hardcoded. No decision there. Say I wanted to target specific buildings with damage so that if the enemy retakes it they have to rebuild but they were buildings I was going to convert anyway so not that big of a setback for me. I can't do that. Damage is already predetermined and hardcoded. Say I wanted to target mainly their garrison with the artillery rather than the buildings so I can assault the city more easily. Can't do that either. Say I want specific entry-points. I can do that in Attila but the siege escalation system doesn't aid that in any way. The only decision altered in Attila is the new parameters by which the player determines whether to siege or not. The rest: siege equipment construction, hold out turns, and reinforcing armies are all from past games.
In Rome 2, if I wanted to I could do all the things mentioned after encircling a town for several turns and doing a manual siege. It'd take for fucking ever but I could...
Now how could they improve this. Depends how involved they want to get. You could do something like a bombard option while besieging that gives you autoresolve-esque options: target defenses, target garrison, target buildings, general bombardment. Alternatively you could choose not to bombard.
If CA wanted to go deeper you could have the bombard options for buildings and garrison give you the ability to target certain units/buildings and allow the player the choice to focus more on raw damage or start fires (with their morale and wipespread damage effects).
If CA wanted to go even deeper they could supply all that and an option to do a manual bombardment which allows you to take the field and do all this manually in case you want to try to push into the city for some skirmishing fights and ending the fight does not cause a defeat that autoresolves losses onto your units.
All of these add agency and decisions without having to spend 50+ minutes on a siege emptying your artillery's ammo. Automatic predetermined damage from encircling that you have no control over does not. Furthermore, it actually removes options since whatever bonus it adds you can get from manually initiating a siege with artillery anyway. You may say "but I can do damage without dragging around artillery" and you would be right, but then that's removing agency from you when you're deciding on the value of taking the extra turns to transport artillery to the settlement for bombardment.
Attila's siege escalation does a good job at streamlining what is the simplest, and occasionally the correct, solution to these scenarios but just as the new setup for auto trade agreements in ToB don't mistake that simplicity for the system giving you more options.
may update for ME replaces the Greentide with the Vermintide
they gave warpfire throwers a unit size of 32, which I thought was high for that kind of unit as well.
In WH2 is there a way to preview raiding income like you can preview sacking income?
You can see what they're going for with warpfire throwers - they're mass infantry spraying units.
Jezzails shouldn't be delivering that kinda spray unless they're made into something they're not supposed to be.
Pretty sure jezzail units used to be incredibly small on the tabletop too, 3-5 rings bells. Warpfire thrower units, not that you ever used them as units over attachments, used to be portrayed as larger if memory serves - though I don't have my 4th edition book at hand and I think GW stopped pretending WFT were anything other than unit attachments after that.
Oh no not the metaaaaaa,
honestly I hope they do make them a tiny unit but powerful enough to bring down big guys and heroes. I said in one of my previous posts they already have every other avenue covered as far as ranged units go, all they need now is a sniper unit for tough targets.
I'd rather have an extreme range high alpha sniper team to deal with dragons and monsters than skaven PAVISE HANDGUNNERS
MP has been garbage since Attila and CA has put next to no focus on it since the esports thing for Rome 2 didn't pan out.
Yup, should be specialised to be anti-large and anti-flying. Not sure how I feel about them being anti-character, it's fitting but feels like it's a dangerous route to go down considering how broken character sniping can be and skaven are already absurdly strong against characters as is.
Small unit of 5-10 seems fitting. Well, double that if you want to count the fuck holding the stick / shield.
the single player meta matters
I can get
if you mean FotS, yes
Unless you're new to Total War, in which case, you're probably best off going Rome 2
Am I doing this renaming thing right
I've only played warhammer total war games before. Oh and like half a napoleon campaign
oh, go Attila then
Shogun 2 motherfucker, easily the best historic.
ill download them both. I'd really thought rome 2 would be the obvious choice though
Rome 2 has the best setting of all of them, but the actual mechanics and variety are less baked than fresh cake batter
It's pretty dull when you end up fighting the same battle over and over again against recolors of culture groups
Rome 2 SHOULD have been the best of them but I duno if it was rushed or what but it was NOT good when I played it, admitedly that's been a while, god knows if it's been modded into a game by now.
Shogun 2 is just fucking great though - the factions are obviously super similar since it's purely in Japan, but fuck ME did they nail the atmosphere and the stuff that is there is solid, I've sank more time into that than any other TW and still go back to it every few months.
Then you can get FOTS and suddenly it's a gunpowder game, it's just solid.
To fair, precision artilery didn’t really exist in those days, and siege that ended in a assault would become an orgy of violence and looting within the city, and even if generals tried to stop it, unless they were really respected and the troops disciplined and loyal, they would just laugh at his face and do it anyway. It also might have a balance factor, since siege weapons are rarer and heavier siege equipment is locked by tech.
Attila content when?
hopefully never, we don't need a steppe queen dlc
who was in the wrong here
BIG BLACK ARMS
weak german toothpicks
G O B L I N S
AI Kroq-Gar and Queek can't even expand to 6 provinces without collapsing to the other
The foul scent of vermin permeates this place, my lord. Do not risk the undermining of your rule by the Skaven - take steps to reduce their chittered lies spreading among your followers.
This is the new advisor-chan.
fire weakness and fire resistance dont cancel each other out, they're listed side by side
thanks for making the UI a real clusterfuck, CA
who is she?
give me one reason not to pirate all total war games
you cant play as pirates so there's no irony or shitpost joke to be made
I'm at a loss. Some character from the new tomb raider games?
She has a crow on her shoulder. Perhaps a genderbent Odin?
her shirt looks modern though
Then I am out of ideas
what mods for Attila? anything resembling DEI?
it's a character from the horror mobashit, dead by daylight
They're not even worth FBI, GET ON THE GROUND playing
fote is closest but it never got the same kinda amount of modders helping it.
Yo /twg/ my laptop gave up a few weeks ago and was thinking about getting one sorta for cheap used to mainly play 4x, Mount and blade, TW Med 2, ck2, And old RPGs is this a good one?
Don't know much about laptops/computers so any help is appreciated could it run Total Warhammer 1 or 2 decent enough?
Shut the fuck up
F-For realz, senpai?
you might be able to scoot by on low settings
got helman worst and vlads fuckdoll instead of this based nigga
Someone redpill me on the apprehensive attitude towards Thrones of Britannia.
It's Meg Thomas, she is a qt.
isabella was one thing but literal who helman ghorst should have been dropped in favor of abhorash, or konrad even. there were other characters they could have done that were much more anticipated.
guy developing it is a turbo autist
skepticism towards saga idea
its basically only one step above an attila dlc
"we want the vikings/the last kingdom/game of thrones audience" type marketing
god awful ui decisions
warhammer players are mad that it's not warhammer and historical players are mad that it's just an attila reskin instead of medieval 3
If you're new to a franchise, you should start with [anything other than the best entry in the franchise, for any reason other than that there's a continuing story and the beginning of this story is not the best]
I'll never understand this.
This isn't a case of trying to write custom firmware for your router when you don't know how to get "hello world" to appear on a console. This is a videogame that's intended to be picked up and played by anyone who happens to buy it. Give them the game that will blow them away.
hasn't aged well
This can either mean that you think that the other person is a pleb who cares more about a shiny coat of paint than a good car, or that the game plays like shit and is only your favorite due to nostalgia. If it's the former, casuals need to fuck off, and if it's the latter, then it was always mediocre. Good game design is eternal.
Apart from what I already mentioned above, the only thing that would cause me to give a different recommendation to a beginner in an entertainment series/medium is the knowledge that they haven't gone through the big shining core works that every potential fan ought to go through.
She's really not.
Who's the TWW2 Lords pack going to be /twg/?
Medieval 2, best game of the series
FUCKING THROT THE UNCLEAN AND SOME WHO GIVES A FUCK LIZARD.
Avelorn and Clan Skryre (starting in Hell Pit)
The Clean and the Clan
If you could only choose two of the three iconic Clan Skyrer units that aren't in yet what would you choose?
Ikkit and Queek are bros so, that seems to make the most sense.
Jezzails most of all
Rats need some anti-dragon, especially Tretch's start
Then a rattling, mortars aren't going to help anyone but Queek against the kangs up north, but by the time he gets around to them that shouldnt be an issue
remember to lead Boyfriend of Niggerond and take over the BLACKED Pyramid of Niggash and continue to claim that your Darkie ass wuz kang
actually palest elves
mfw it's more entertaining to watch the little duel animations between generals on the map than the melee tug-of-war combat in Rome 2
How the fuck do you beat others as the Empire in Total war Warhammer.
Swordsman/spearmanii fall like chaff to fucking everything and route fast.
Handgunners take so many volleys to even put the hurt on any unit they fight, especially ones I need them to hurt when I have them on the flank.
My Arty never seems to weaken my enemy enough to make them manageable. (Great cannons doing jack shit against giants, and Hellblasters not hurting armored enough to lower their numbers before the big fight.)
Every battle I do with AI and players devolves into huge mob fights where I get routed almost instantly.
Greatswords are way to expensive and end up getting beat the fuck out by cheaper units.
People catch up to my Demigryphons on flank and practically rip them apart with other units.
Like holy fuck how am I supposed to use my (((Versatility))) to save humanity when everyone else can use actually good units to wipe the floor with everything I have. What am I doing wrong? How in the fuck can I get good and kill these fucks in the name of Franz?
(Note this is mainly multiplayer battles on large funds against AI, and sometimes my friends.)
Meg got nice hips, round bottom too.
Her braided, red hair is good.
Neither too big nor too small.
Women should have defined jawlines you fat piggy.
What are the best unique Weapons/Armor/Trinkets in WH2?
So far I think Tyrion's Sunfang wins for for raw utility (and whatever Queek's weapon is coming in dead last)
buff state troops with honest steel, wps adn magic
hangunners used in checkerboard if trve vnderstander, flanking if not
learn what to target with what artillery you have
great cannons for counter battery, cav, and dense armored formations like gayos+dwarflets
mortars for accurate fire on blobs
hellstorms for big blobs from afar
hellblasters for anything with the proper setup
learn to keep a cohesive formation
greatswords are NOT your mainline inf, best used in supporting roles vs armored inf
don't let your cav get caught by inf
all of the following also supported by magic
wrote all of this out before I realized you were talking about mp
mp is a fucking meme, go watch some yter and learn whatever the meta strat for the current build of the game is
Poor dumb noob. Understand that army builds matter a lot and especially against different factions.
Swordsman/spearmanii fall like chaff to fucking everything and route fast.
Yes, the low-tier infantry is just there to soak damage, they will not hold the line without buffs, because they're not meant to.
Handgunners take so many volleys to even put the hurt on any unit they fight, especially ones I need them to hurt when I have them on the flank.
Use handgunners against heavy infantry like Black Orcs and crossbows against lighter infantry.
My Arty never seems to weaken my enemy enough to make them manageable.
Your artillery is never going to do that, they need to keep firing and use all their ammo, this is why the sunmaker is so well-liked.
Greatswords are way to expensive and end up getting beat the fuck out by cheaper units.
Why are you using greatswords? Do not use them.
People catch up to my Demigryphons on flank and practically rip them apart with other units.
Demigrpyhs are there to fight other large units, only use halberd variant. Use regular cavalry to inflict big damage on enemy infantry and hammer and anvil.
Here's an example army build.
1 General + 1 Bright Wizard. Use the Bright Wizard to net enemy troops and get free shots in.
4 Swordsmen + 3 Spearmen frontline and 2 Dmeigrpyhs + 2 Empire Knights on the flanks. Use Demigryphs to beat up enemy cav/monsters and use empire knights to rear charge their frontline infantry.
3 Handgunners + 2 Crossbows
You need Isbella if you're going to have vlad, the only argument that could be made is that she shouldn't be her own lord and should be a hero or something like Krell, but that's still the same workload so wouldn't make a difference.
Also fuck Konrad and Abhorash, do we really need more fucking melee vampires?
Deiter Helsnicht is the only interesting option.
advancing into sissynid territory, got lanciarii + legio comitatenses now
warring with the sassanids always felt really cool in attila. would end up signing peace treaties and then resuming wars etc.
Starting in Hell Pit
What the hell is wrong with you?
build demigryphs with halberds
run the map
was better before they added the white huns, now they are almost always weaker and can't afford to shit out the armeno-savaran doomstacks like they could before
Every faction plays differently, and the Empire completely varies based on who you're fighting as well
Empire gun guide here, Hammer and Anvil isn't something the Empire can always get, but its always good to try
Yeah I crush on Campaign map. But in MP I always fucking die. Yet I feel uniting the Empire is fucking impossible because some outside fucker always comes in at the last minute, like blobbing wood elves and other fucks.
Thanks for the graph, will try them and say what happens.
I always find they easily take the white huns out easily and only like 2 vassal settlements get razed at most.
wtf is going on in that image?
go back to bretonnia with your cav bullshit. steam tanks and jade wizard all the way
You one-unit army fags make me sick.
that graph also works for basically any faction, the empire (and dwarfs) benefit the most from it due to guns having a very small arc
if you do that sort of setup with something like tomb kings then you can absolutely rape the enemy
Any red flags?
It's also cool to look at with Stormvermin and Warpfire throwers.
Just watched the Gwynedd let's play, PLEASE tell me that UI is not final because it has to be THE laziests and most uninspired one in all of TW. Like when I look at it I assume it's basically the skeleton layout of the Attila one before they add the actual graphics.
Legio III Parthica, fitting to their name, catches the Sassanids mustering outside of their capital Ctesiphon, pulling the city's garrison in a combat as they try to save their forces outside of the city
Soon after Flavius Caesarius' Legio V Cyrenaica enters the defenseless city, and ransacks the Sassanid capital, despite the fact that III Parthica did all of the fighting to take the city. This earns Caesarius the disdain of Parthica's general, the stoic but well respected Flavius Atellus, and serves as a black spot on his reputation amongst the elite back in Constantinople
To the west the Lakhmids have put together a large force to try and force the Romans out of the desert town of Dumatha
You didn’t make the claim that agency remained static. You made the claim that agency took a step backwards and you never defended that claim and now you’re totally backpedaling fucking hours later passive aggressively replying to somebody else trying to just say “oh it doesn’t add agency” when I quoted you claiming otherwise, again ignored. You’re truly a goalpost-shifting strawmanning weasel. You’ve changed the perimeters of your discussion and the goals have shifted so much that you’d rather spend literally hours typing convoluted bullshit than actually admitting you were wrong or just not posing about it.
the romans are ready for them
Different guy here. I'm currently mass-replacing my swordsmen with greatswords (and spears with halberds). I can afford it while keeping my budget at 10k+/turn due to having prioritized economic buildings and trade. Why wouldn't I want this?
All of this is present in fall of the samurai but only because precision bombardment exists. None of it is particularly relevant since the AI is unaffected by targets to their economy since they get free money anyway, it’s all just a lot of words to describe essentially convoluted versions of old features that don’t particularly add any “agency’s but merely adds manual steps in the process of achieving a goal that really shouldn’t be the focus of the gameplay anyway. Minor raids or skirmishes would be a nightmare to deal with globally across a map for a developer, you’re asking for all sorts of complicated features that achieve essentially what you can already do with agents or fleets in FOTS, all to cover that you started this conversation claiming that siege escalation removes agency and then it became “well it doesn’t ADD agency” and then you thought about it for a while and thought, “well muh repair costs because I was starving out so many settlements in Rome 2” like it was actually a relevant feature and you’re not just desperately clinging for anything to prove your initially absurd claim.
Haven't played Mortal Empires at all, what issues does it have aside from Norsca still not being a thing?
gs/halberds get fucked by any sort of missile fire, and gs will also get rekt by any sort of monster/cav charge - going with halberds (vs factions like chaos and vamps with no missiles) or spears gives you a cheaper frontline that can be buffed up by honest steel that can also withstand charges and anvil better than greatswords
still no regiments for the DLC factions
something about the lighting being off, I dunno
Beastmen demolishing everything
working as intended lel
turn times, loading times, battle loading times, battle unloading times, take
attila tier turn times

its surprising that hes canadian. heres another canadian warhammer fanboy
rogue army spawns with a tolerance to my race
throw a NAP at them
next turn invite them to a war
fight the war myself, eventually get a defensive alliance with them
Alright, how do I weaponize the rogue army
settle them around your borders as foederati, bonus points if they are the delf/chaos hybrid that gets CHOSEN garrisons in their most basic settlements
Its still an unfinished gigantic mess, 8 months later
The "versatility" is a meme. Empire has cav/tank over dwarfs, but everything else dwarves have is equal or better.
heavier armoured infantry that does more damage and can hold a line much better
rifles that not only have MUCH better armour but have fucking shields
useful support from runelords/engineers that have great abilities that don't rely on a finite mana pool
dynamic red tree that buffs your army into god mode late game
Empire is the most boring campaign ever. Hope you're cool spamming tanks and demis because when chaos shows up you'll get BTFO by even their mid game units. Glad I'm not the only one to acknowledge the Empire has a totally fucking ass late game
apart from Norsca there's nothing wrong, buy the DLC, there's nothing wrong with more content, we need more content, buy the DLC
Not Marching Arcadius's personal legion into Ctesiphon
As much as I would like to he keeps getting deceived by one spy
I wonder what sort of stubborn mountain midget could be behind this post
increase all missile damage to 20000 per shot
give all ranged units 500 ammo
set reload times to 2 seconds
increase unit sizes by 20 from ultra settings
fight a real man's battle
As long as every unit's man-count is multiplied by 1000, sounds great to me.

why would I want to capture ships when I could watch them explode like this instead?
play as ERE

Every fucking time
how did your infantry and medium cav take so many casualities without getting any kills?
they were previously damaged, ai attacked before they could replenish
trying to have puppets outside of hedonists in AoC
so you can capture more kotetsus than the game allows you to have
there's just something so satisfying about a graveyard of ships burning together in the killzone you set up.
oh I suppose that would be a good reason, they're exceptionally good at luring in ships with that 1000 range right into your carefully crafted barrage of maximum cannon fire, but then I only really need a couple on each side of japan to slaughter navies.
So what's the consensus on desert kangs?
the problem arises when the ai starts to get their hands on them, and it turns into an arms race of who can field the most kotetsus in every battle
no ssd just a 1 tb hdd
only 1600*900 screen
"radeon r7" but dont specify which one exactly
For the price it's not bad but the display and especially the missing SSD are off-putting. Without a SSD you will have minute-long loading times. Might consider saving a few more hundret bucks and buy something more expensive. Also the cheap plastic case is kinda eh
I'm a little behind - have jezzails been confirmed now? Can't find anything on it, just that we get another mini-dlc like in TWWH1
confirmed? no, but they are without a doubt going to be in the skaven dlc whenever it releases, considering they are a major part of their roster that is missing
Should I bother trying to confederate Wissenburg or just take it by force?
The Mad Count is now the Arch Lector
press s to spit on their grave
FotS sea battles are fun at first, but fighting each and every last sea battle gets old really quick.
entire fleet of iron ships
three puny little enemy ships that'll get shredded in seconds the moment that your ships get into range, with basically no damage done to your fleet; a complete non-threat if there ever was a such a thing
one ship sunk and two more heavily damaged
there are several little enemy fleets moving around that ought to be dealt with in a single turn
The auto resolve needed to be far more generous. From my testing, you can auto-resolve against one enemy ship just fine, but if there are two or more, you absolutely need to fight the battle manually. It's like forcing the player to manually fight those two spear levy units that are trying to damage your buildings if the CPU liked sending five such armies into your territory on every turn.
fuck off gook
still using Scout Equites
Oh by the Sigmar no.
he doesn't actively support cuckoldry with his general
not rushing Vamps before they get a chance to snowball out of Sylvania
still trying to fix public order in the east and wrapping up the last of the caucasian fucking shits that declared war on me
attila comes of age and immediately declares war
they have been slumming it out in the eastern frontier for a while now, no chance to go and recruit actual cav, usually they have just used mercs
not that guy but i'm playing my 1st campaign on hard on ME, i've just taken out the rebels and beastmen coming up that valley at the same time, do i now focus vamps or orcs?
Orcs will snowball, but not into territory that's vital for you. Vamps on the other hand focus core lands of the Empire and should therefore be the first priority, probably after the first confederatation you make.
I play different ways to see how the map changes.

not really, Canadians are also massive trek fans from watching box sets for months.
Why didn't you sign non-aggression pact before?
ERE can easily build green relationship with the huns in the early game.
they never liked me, and I was unlucky enough to have them declare an early war on me
Bretonia or Bust.
as dinomen, why are some of my cities still looking like gay elf towns? is there no way to convert?
in warhammer 2 since there is no more regional occupation system now cities stay the same as the original culture one
well that's stupid. all these complains about the climate while my dinos are just too lazy to refurbish

tfw ancient empires is still not out

It's another edition of "I didn't read the post"
Read the post before you tell me what I said in my post because I literally gave examples of scenarios that were possible in Rome 2 and not in Attila.
If I put muh in front of examples he gave of actual scenarios that were possible in Rome 2 but not in Attila it's invalidates his argument
this feature is too complicated for me
And this is why the franchise is in the terrible shape it's in.
m2babby wakes up and immediately shitposts on /twg/
Remember, do NOT KILL THE DOLPHIN
is it a good time to get TWW2 ?
I remember people telling me to hold off until some "big update" tie up the two game together a while ago
I have two sides
nicest king you'll ever meet
and twisted fucking psychopath
As good a time as any, unless there's a sale coming up.
Game runs fine; plenty of mods.
Your crusade on a budget
Also I really don't get why they declared war on me. They got joined by another one province crusader faction who I wrecked right away.
Get the fuck out.
nice big shields though
Khalida in Averheim getting a book, killing vampires and liberating imperials
I like how that guy just dies from getting throwed. He doesn't get stabbed. I might remember wrong though.
Hey now Saphery. I just wanted to take a look at your tower. You don't need to be this mad.

Does anyone knows how to get Medieval TW running on modern hardware? It just seen to crashes no matter what on my computer.
Pre-order Total War Saga: Thrones of Britannia.
Also for some reason the less blood mod was turned off. Really annoying.
people use my mod
Been using it since you released it.
I'm looking forward to the 10+ post chain from this exchange where you accuse me of derailing the conversation all because you can't address my points.
Shut up Grace
Fuck yes, I'm the shogun now. Legendary campaign almost complete.
The general was a hellhole after the 3K announce with all the gookposters from their shitty Koei general stinking up the place.
I love Matt from MiniWargaming

that's a small map
new total wars every 6 months with 2 overlapping each that are intellectual bankrupt, over priced basically DLC
Based SEGA bros working those inbreds overtime
really makes you think
Seems like a senior member of the EB team is leaving the EB2 development due to creative conflicts.
What's the most boring WH campaign lads?
The new team leader insisted that the voice actors use eclesiastic latin pronunciations with the voice actors and this was just a slap in the face to what this mod stands for.
Chaos imo. Though I don't really like horde factions in total war, I had fun as Beastmen.
Can't believe it's been 2060 years since those traitors stabbed Julius Caesar.
Time flies ;(
so eb1 is better than eb2?
Do you like the Rome 1 engine or the M2 engine?
For the Republic 2bh
Not him but whats the difference? I thought they were the same.
Norman Knights are in
Pull through, pathfinding, and collision is all different (some say worse for M2 than Rome) between games. Then obviously all the campaign changes determine what is moddable and what isn't. So if you like Rome 1's campaign better then EB is better fit. M2 obviously looks better and EB2 is in a slump right now with development though my understanding is it's all playable.
So there's at least one faction in Throne of Britannia that's not a snoozefest then? Too bad they're not playable
Is there a way to improve load times in Warhammer because it's literally unplayable? Seriously man, I bought this and I want to kill myself. You know I could deal with loading the battle but fucking thing needs to load AGAIN to get back to the fucking map. Is there anything I can do?
inb4 buy SSD
beat all the other factions
suddenly a whole host of fucking Normans appear
real end game begins as you attempt to hold back the Norman tide of William the CHAD
That a siege battle? Also what campaign allowed greenies to survive long enough to even build black orcs? Lmao
Continuing to remove crusaders
Sorry you don't want to hear it but buy a fucking SSD
Greenskins are huge in my game. Their armies have some black orcs in them
seeing this coming through the gate
Must be horrifiying
I actually liked this trailer
I know how to fix the Empire LLs
Franz is fine
Gelt has a hard cap on steam tanks and can only have one witchhunter per army
Volkmar starts off in the mountains to the west and gets renamed Volkmar the Grimgore and gets access to a mixed roster of empire and greenskin units, but not all of them because black orcs with helblasters would be OP
i want more Beastman LL's

WE WANT THE VIKINGS AUDIENCE, BASED FLOKI
Is carthage supposed to have 6 full navies in DEI? because I can't fucking do shit when even with multiple regions I can barely support 3 legions.
Friendly reminder that if you buy TOB you are part of the reason TW goes into the shitter, especially historical TW games.
They charge you 40 bucks for a few nice campaign alterations but the animations, the sounds, a lot of the models and all the ground work of the game is based upon a game that is now almost 5 years old.
If TOB is successfull you can be sure to be fed with Rome II spinoffs with the same stupid charge animations an horzontal aiming but vertical shooting bowmen until the end of time.
but the animations, the sounds, a lot of the models and all the ground work of the game
They've been making the same game for like 20 years now
Warhammer 2 has music from Rome 2 in it as well
Does empire survive ever without the player helping in WH1? They haven't survived a single campaign for me. Franz and Volkmar end up sitting in a random town with incomplete armies and don't really move or recruit then chaos comes to BTFO them... bug?
When will total war be good again?
fucking carthage. That power bar is completely wrong, pre-battle you could barely see yellow.
why should you release troops if the faction just gets way more mad about "military actions" anyway?
Navies are fucking ass in Rome 2. They have almost half the unit size of land units and get a 15% penalty on land. Just ignore their navies until they land.
Bowmen not aiming where the arrows travel trigger my autism.
There are plenty of things to bitch about with Rome 2 and you choose this?
It was never good despite what faggots around here want to claim.
Rome I did this why can't the newer titles?
For a game that is mainly about watching battles it's quite a big fault in my optinion- it was just one of my gripes that just carries on from Rome II to Attila to TOB.
Show how much CA doesn't give a crap about the spinoff games.

Also everyone see that sweet new ToB gameplay
I really dig the new mustering mechanic and the other campaign improvements. The battle AI is still retarded with ship embarkments though
How'd you make Rome II look so good
I'm using some graphical mods, but mostly are vegetation, lightning from aztec and reskin uniforms, game it's still rome2. Also playing on Extreme settings and 4k
so from the look of it next leader revealed will be sea viking one , any idea who the leaders of either Dyflin or Sudreyar was at the time ?
What's your spec? 1080 + some I7?
nah I have a meme spec, 4670k, GTX 1070 and 8gb of ram, I wish I had more cpu power
tfw you are Photius
Is your fps even stable with that on that resolution?
most likely Imar for Dublin, not sure about the Hebrides
yes, it over around 30 or 60.
When the fps drops in total war, it drops at every resolution or spec. So i'm autistic and I play at 4k because the games improves a lot, I could play at 1440p and have stable 60. Also rome 2 isn't heavy as Attila or Warhammer, I could never play those two at 4k
Is the Last Roman fun? I've played the main campaign and AoC but never this. How are the barbarian kingdoms? Do they get events similar to those that Belisarius get?

god the ui for ToB is so fucking bad

Nah the regular infantry is 160, which is what ultra melee infantry units usually are.

decide to play welsh or gaels
with some cunning strategies you manage to conquer the isles
those cunning strategies ain't gonna save you when your mostly skirmisher armies have to face very heavy viking infantry on one side and very heavy norman cavalry on the other
Guess I'll just play proper vikings (good navies to prevent them from even landing) or anglo-norse (good infantry and half-decent cavalry)

SoyMA with Soyck Soysted, Soyme Soyrector of Soynes of Brisoynnia at Soy Soyty PM.

"for the glory of the Gaels"
any question I would ask him would get buried by sycophants on reddit, + making a reddit account to ask an ascot wearing aspie to fix his game's ui
he thinks the ui for ToB is fine
fuck off, it isn't even the unit cards that are bad, but the fact that they wasted the time and charlemagnes getting period style art for unit cards, emblems, buildings and techs and decided to pair it with an awful black/blue modern theme. The worst part is they probably only did it to make the game look different than attila so people didn't catch on to the fact that they paid 40 bucks for Age of Charlemagne 1.2.

Thats a nice Britannia™ you have there...
Total War: Big Willy and the Mud Covered Britons
I only played as Belisar but it was fun. Although the requirements to win the campaign are kinda impossible to achieve.
the fug is this battle map
it's a village map
I wonder if Thrones will have Rebels conjuring up oddly high level units. Looks like they got a couple horsey boys there.
They really want the UI to be all time period appropriate and shit.
It looks like a mobile game.
Wonder what kind of UI they really did have back then in the 800s AD
It's literally a Total War for children. Just look at the rating for fuck's sake. CA have given up on mature gamers and instead opted for easy sales to impressionable children and teenagers.
with that autismo campaign mechanics I doubht it's for children
such as yourself.
They've gone from the beautiful UI and menus of Shogun 2 to this shit. Literally Skyrim-tier, looks far too modern and doesn't fit at all.
That must have looked beautiful when it was first made.
P.S. me on the top right
It's a feature
Nah this one was aimed squarely at the TWC and history crowd.
It still looks nice
I actually like the icons for buildings and traits, altough proper backgrounds would have been nice.

Me on the top left.
Go away phone fag.
Something like this
is probably what they were aiming for but I'd say they missed the mark.
isn't png specifically made for phones though?
Thrones of Soymanni seems to be aimed at anoraks who are interested in campaign mechanics and roleplaying and shieet, and possibly as a safer why of testing out new mechanics than risking fucking something up with a mainline game like Warhammer or ThreeKangzdoms.
It's the complete opposite of a game like Warhammer where they were literally marketing it as "'frikkin DINOSAURS riding DINOSAURS so epiC1!!!".
It'll probably be boring as fuck and the new mechanics will just be modder-tier autism checks on the player which the AI cheats through. Still, there needs to be SOME part of CA actually working on improving the TW campaign experience going forward rather than just throwing scripted stack spam or arbitrary debuffs for the human player.
After several early losses to the Huns in Dacia/Dardania, my war against the huns reached a stalemate once reinforcements from the Sassanid campaign in the east made it back to the west and I waited for attila to run out of spare lives
Arcadius' strategy of "Fortress Dacia" worked. The key elements of it being
Fortified border towns
Larger garrisons and walls meant that any times the huns wanted to attack a settlement, they had to spend time besieging it, allowing reinforcements to arrive using the
Exempting the province from taxation allows you to max out the main settlement chains, which gives you massive road development, allowing armies to move around faster - this meant I was able to get enough armies to problematic locations to overwhelm any large concentration of huns. It also meant damaged armies could quickly relocate south so they could replenish without being stopped by the "death" trait
Turning dacia into a military province meant that any losses suffered from battle with the huns were quickly replenished or replaced
Eventually Attila was hunted down and slain, and the rest of the hunnic hordes caught and destroyed one by one until they were no more
PNG is good for flat graphics, but is inefficient with rich graphics where JPG of decent quality is just fine. While archiving game screenshots in PNG is fine, I think we need to stamp down on criminal who upload game screenshots in the inefficient PNG format, when JPG is more than sufficient.
me on the bottom right
It sucks that Warhammer is not moddable enough for total conversions.
Nice. Any screens from Attilas defeat?
phonefags have a data cap so they won't click on any image above a few kb artifact'd jpgs
really a pathetic state of existence
it seems to be in a weird spot where the campaing mechanics might appeal to the twc type audience, but the marketing of the setting screams "we want the vikings audience"
exactly, this is what they should have gone for, but Attila already had the parchment look and people would realize too quickly that they were paying 40 bucks for glorified dlc so they threw in a new ui
god, playing the ERE must be so much fun.
I really liked that in attila they made the road development system more transparent.
as a safer why of testing out new mechanics than risking fucking something up with a mainline game like Warhammer or ThreeKangzdoms.
I hope they port some of the ideas over to Warhammer and future titles. Either way I really want Warhammer to focus more on its RPG-parts to make it more different from other total wars. More customization when it comes to characters(with proper visuals) would be great. Have more random event chains that end in all sorts of things(battles, discovering a resource and so on). Basically do the "different total wars for different things"
modder-tier autism checks on the player which the AI cheats through
This is my main complaint about Total War games in general but seems to have gotten worse with Rome 2 onwards.
It is probably the easiest faction because of built in money cheat.
burning the countryside and starving the enemy out from their walls is supposed to be a viable strategy in ToB
tfw AI will with 99% certainty cheat through it anyway
It's a totally viable strategy... on Easy.
his last battle consisted of him and a dozen survivors of his bodyguard being run down by an entire legion
ERE is basically an easier WRE, but people still get caught thinking it will be babbymode when you have to put up with sissynids and huns before the interest can kick in and make all of your problems go away
I'd say sassanidsare easier, you have the best starting position in the game and nothing can touch you once the white huns are gone - from there you can easily align yourself with the huns through mutual hatred of the greeks and steamroll anybody
this is the big problem with the system, ai cheats and won't give a fuck that you took all of their little villages. Its also going to be a pain in the ass for the player to defend them because you can't separate units from armies w/o a general, and the insta recruitment means the ai will probably have a boner for getting a couple of quarter strength spears and taking all of your shit bc lol no garrisons
It is pretty strict, but modders keeps "unlocking" smaller stuff that make for very neat mods. The rather large amount of modders for that game is the reason for that. I wish Attila had a bigger modding community/enthusiasm. I guess it is because people don't know/didn't know the game existed. This has caused a lot of mods that fix things in the game not being updated or never being made in the first place. At least the bigger mods are slowly coming along.
you can just mod out the Food bonuses that the AI will get and they will end up starving.
the AI is going to starve on their own without your help if you do this.
I agree the marketing is running with that. They just make make the setting even less interesting to both histcucks and people who only throw pre-order money at shiny knights riding dragons.
All I wanted is more fantasy mods with flying, giant units and magic and they still fucked it up. Or was it games workshop.
tfw this was default in Rome 2 and Attila which just made them starve to death
This was especially a problem in Attila. I never had a large rival AI empire in the late game because of that(until some of the mods were made that is)
It's still limited to whatever is made available through the game_interface table in the the Lua scripting environment. You don't even get proper access to the DB, so if you want to do a basic task like enumerate all the available units for a given faction you're shit out of luck. This is part of what makes support between mods tricky.
one of the last big battles fought vs the huns, an army encamped outside romula would have been overrun if it weren't from reinforcing troops led by the emperor himself
based crossbow chads
The absolute No.1 problem with Warhamemr is that modders can't extract models to give them bigger tits and put them back into the game. They can only fuck about mixing-and-matching in-game models and props (without the aid of the old variantmesh viewer), which is why most of the "new" models modders implement into the game are trash (except for simple skin/texture work).
We will never have a dust-filled tittymonster to rival the Vampire heroes
7500 dead, all at one fort in dacia
outperformed by the cheapest unit the romans have in funditores
as much as I love xbows I find armored sagittari better for the ere, and any ranged units die so quickly to devil archer fire that funditores tended to do well simply due to high rof, + lack of ap isn't a problem vs horse archers
Can you radically change map?
except the thing is that in ToB, farms can only be upgraded into better farms. Having the AI over extend and then crippling their food supplies to make them suffer attrition will be easier.
There is no way to change the campaign map.
I can't remember the last Total War game where you could truly modify the campaign map.
you can raise/lower the campaign map's terrain.
tfw arcadius kicks so much ass the game has to nerf him
a more recent screenshot, but he was getting so much influence the game assigned him the arrogant trait
Med 2 flim flam
Shogun 2 probably
So now that Thrones of Boretannia is confirmed to be glorified DLC, what are your hopes and fears for Three Kingdoms?
"we’re working on some seriously cool content that both ticks the historical authenticity box and brings some exciting new stuff to the Total War formula"
Arrogant, but really competent rulers are the best
You can barely do anything to it, but that's been an issue for years, when Warscape and the attached middleware (which CA claims prevent them from distributing editing tools) were introduced.
The difference with Warhammer is that due to legal issues with Games Workshop they had to fight tooth and nail to permit any level of modding at all, let alone stuff like importing/exporting models. Normally I would call them filthy liars but in this case it's pretty obvious GW would be concerned about licencing a strategy game that modders would immediately replace with Warcraft characters.
Med 2 is the only one where it's happend with shit like Third Age and that tele tubbies and dinosaurs mod
After the war with the huns was over, the emperor decided to finally invest into the economy and infrastructure of the empire, as lengthy wars with the Sassanids and Huns had left little capital for investing into the economy. During the last war with the huns, Arcadius had even been forced to rise the level of taxation across the empire to fund the armies needed to defend the empire from the nomadic hordes.
Veterans of the Sassanid/Hunnic campaigns were settled in lands in the east that had been left bare by White Hunnic incursions in the past, and money was poured into the economy of key mercantile coastal provinces like libya, cilicia, and Macedonia - an effort which is still ongoing
xenophobic is a faction trait
Still play Third Age with submods. This is what I would like out of Wathammer modding wise, but it's not happening.
Watching the Eurogamer stream
Journalist gets this offer from the faction
They immediately break it but do nothing else the very next turn
CA dev: "haha, well it does say they're untrustworthy, so it makes sense, r-right?"
I'm certain you couldn't do it in Shogun 2, there are mods that add 'new' provinces but nothing that changes the land mass. Makes me wonder why there isn't a mod that overhauls FotS to be set in the Sengoku period just to make use of FotS' better campaign map.
With the successful release of Desert Kingdoms and Empire Divided, ROME II has come a long way, but there’s more action and free content to come yet. One big win has been the reduction of players who have problems with mods crashing their game, by creating roll back builds for those who want to use older mods, and the new mod filter for those that want to play new content without forgetting old mods may still be enabled and might cause issues.
We’ve also looked at all of the fan feedback from Empire Divided through to Desert Kingdoms and feel we have a good understanding of things we need to address in the next content release for ROME II. We plan to line this up with the next campaign pack that we feel will be a fresh take on campaign packs for ROME II as well as a very exciting feature for the Free-LC that will release alongside it.
More Rome 2 huh? Interesting...
of course there are still foreign threats, and the Abasgians in particular have proven to be a nuisance, launching constant raids from Sarmatia and Hyperborea on Roman settlements in caucasia
In one instance, the barbarians broke the truce they had signed with the romans and tried to re-take the town of Tanais, but failed - now the emperor's heir Spurius Saturnius has headed north in an effort to wipe them out once and for all
There's a shitty mod for the american civil war and another one that adds Korea.
There's a mod that adds Korea. The land itself is pretty goddamn bare and flat, but there is a new landmass with castles.
Yeah, I believe the mods that add China/Worst Korea landmass simply unlocked unfinished sections of the map. They didn't make them themselves.
Well fuck me sideways, I had no idea.
expecting journalist to know how to play
i have given up on that long ago back at when for S.T.A.L.K.E.R clear sky they had a journalist demo and the devs made your character invincible cause they knew how bad journalist where
The chaos defeat one looks so cool
Anyone else sub to Darren's channel solely out of pity?
I just want to be there for him.
Saved that one before the kangs
Sorry, I meant the faction that offered the declaration of friendship broke it the next turn, not the journalist.
I'm watching that right now
this battle from 12:00 to 23:00
so fucking hard to watch
and I give myself a hard time for slow-moing sometimes
Let's hope it works as intended. I am really skeptical. It is CA afterall.
Don't talk about /ourlad/ like that.
This happens in S2 too. You can keep getting alliance with a faction and they'll keep breaking it until they're so untrustworthy that everyone else just immediately declares war on them.
He starts getting genuinely, physically angered when his infantry chase the skirmishers halfway across the map
whoever made that image or someone else need to put the tomb Kings ones to it
People (rightly) complain about this, but no game was as bad with this as Rome/Med 2 when your allies would randomly declare war and blockade your port with a Cog. CA claimed this was because their military behaviour on the campaign map was not in sync with their diplomatic state.
Darren has nearly become un-JUSTed
takes direct cav charges to unprotected, unbraced flanks and front of non-cav countering infantry
has to split his attention to two stacks from different sides
leaves all his cav static for good portion of the battle
over extends chasing skirmishers
so this is the power of very easy
Is Bretonnia the most JUST faction in the game? Taking their cities is a cakewalk and if you bring antilarge to a field battle you're set
Bretonnians often do not even survive long enough to make any noticeable number of knights. Their early units are only good for fertilizing the new growth of Athel Loren.
I'm watching his Mars review right now. You can do it, lad.
I like the cut of your jib, kid.
I'd like to tell you that I'm.... putting together a.... team...
Does empire survive ever without the player helping in WH1?
In my experience they generally end up in Top 3 of the strongest factions unless I attack or sabotage them.
Occupying gives worse relations than exterminating
Make a vassal out an one province nation
They declare war on me with 5 units against my army stationed outside their city.
Was pretty silly.
I wish somebody made a mod for TWW that made liberated factions have a defensive alliance or non-aggression pact with you instead of an automatic military alliance when you play as any other race than Chaos.
fug what a mess
Total War is for children though
Who /sassykids/ here?
The emperor has also overseen the creation of new elite military units, and has chosen some of the men from these various groups to be a part of his personal army. The numeroi infantry make up the bulk of the emperor's elite forces, supplemented by various elite mercenary shock troops known as the Hetaireia Guard. The Scholae Palatinae and Excubitores make up the Emperor's personal cavalry
It makes them a liability in 99% of situations. Current CAI is massively tuned to faction strength, to the extent that neutral factions will instantly declare war on weaklings.
implying kids these days play on computers
We will never get Attilla DLC for female generals
What a waste of time in Rome 2 when generals and faction leaders barely matter a jot.
Beloved in Death: Vlad and Isabella get bonuses when reinforcing one another, representing their bond.
what does this even mean and is it even useful
The main problem is that the liberated factions uses your alliance to amplify their faction strength so they will be more likely to attack other factions that are initially at the same strength as them. There is a mod that makes all liberated factions vassals. This will at least prevent the problem I described.
Meh, in my experience vassals are a liability too because other factions - even allies - don't seem to care about your relationship with them. I've been in quite a few situations where a close ally would force me into a war by declaring war on my vassal.
CAI has varied massively over the course of patches though.
burn everything past Mesopotamia and Armenia
burn below Egypt
burn past the Caucasus
burn beyond Dacia
retake the West,
I try to enjoy Total War games, but the slow responses of units, which is somewhat realistic, really rustle my jimmies. I'm so used to RTS games where everything moves exactly as you will it. Instead of having to set positions up.
I never even played Attila. Can you marry Honoria?
Their stats gets buffed when fighting in the same battle. It's ok. I usually have vlad get the infantry and cavalry while Isabella gets the monster units. Then I stick them close together in all my military campaigns.
don't seem to care about your relationship with them.
They do, but it is mostly the small to medium sized factions that does that. I have never had strong allies declare war on my vassals though. The AI in shogun 2 didn't care at all which was a huge problem. Long time allies would just declare war on your vassal that wasn't even close to them.
I don't recall to be honest, but probably. Attila actually had semi-functional female and underage faction leaders with a Regent system, but it was kinda half-heartedly implemented.
She's not in the game IIRC since the game starts on 395AD
Best part was long-standing allies being scripted to declare war on YOU for no fucking reason (Whispers of Treachery or w/e it was called).
At a triumph in the capital for the (now deceased) general Flavius Cordius Atellus, the man who killed Attila, the emperor outlined his plans for the future of the empire to his best generals and advisors. Following a period of economic growth and expansion and army standardization, and the the creation of a proper mediterranean fleet, the Empire would turn its eyes to the west, to the lands where their western bretheren once ruled
The emperor made it clear that he viewed these lands as property belonging to the Roman Empire, and that at some point in the future there would be a campaign to reclaim the territory lost to the barbarians of the west
thank god for that, we don't meme dlc to ruin this game. The only relevant female is Mavia
leaving all that territory empty and useless
I'm not expanding any further to the east unless someone settles it, and normally I wouldn't go north of the Danube but I wanted to this campaign for the challenge of defending Dacia
bredy nice siege map 5/5
He doesn't want female generals with anime models
What's it like to have no taste
That clusterfuck of smaller factions/borders
Fucking Attila. Every time. Nice ERE though
at least I stopped attila from turning everything into a barren wasteland
normal too easy
hard too frustrating
It ain't easy being a stratlet
Why do people get so angry over the "soy" meme? I don't recall anyone complaining this much about "cuck" or "numale" or "People who play Total War games on any difficulty above Normal"
I don't recall anyone complaining this much about "cuck"
Soyboys can't just brush off the insult like they can with "cuck"
Hard is perfect in almost every way except for one thing: diplomacy gets noticeably fucked because the geniuses at CA make the AI factions declare war on you no matter what, and other factions on the other side of the map join in because fuck you.
Empire, Hard, Sweden
Russia declares war on me
turns out they don't have any fucking units and I take Moscow and Kiev without encountering a single full stack army
Napoleon, Hard, France
beat Austria in big battle, crush them completely and take Vienna
scriped peace, usually this means they'll stay out of your wars for at least a while
they join Prussias war on me two turns later
Shogun 2, hard
make alliance with clan, their attitude to me is very friendly
they declare war on me literally one turn later
his heir goes from normal roman model to emo
There's a mod that makes them vassals, that's a good one because then they're good little puppets.
/twg/ loves the soy meme though
it's /ourmeme/ to btfo the numales who can't handle real hard man strategy games
every warhammer 2 faction has a larger roster than any of the warhammer 1 factions.
Fucking CA I tell you.
This is the ideal male body. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.
Seems like you forgot your picture m8, I got you.
For some reason, it didn't upload. Oh well.
tfw medical residency placement results announced in 2 hours
/twg/ pls send memes to deal with my trepidation
literally stuck fighting back orcs over and over on Settra on hard difficulty
fuck me i suck, should i restart and rush them?
I don't even know what you're talking about, but have some gay swedish caroleans
have a future
posting on Veeky Forums
user leave while you still can
fighting orcs and dwarfs as Settra
god I hate this
Spoilered since it's personal blogging but every year 4th year med students and some other individuals apply for intern positions at hospitals across the USA. Monday we're told whether we've received a position and today we're told where
gay swedish caroleans
I did not realize this was a thing but now I am intrigued as fuck
Is this the same guy who drew gay Roman and Carthaginian hoplites
I can't leave
The shitposting from others fuels me to keep going
I just shot the biggest load of my life after a 3-week no fap marathon. I did it just as Franz personally killed B*ris Todbringer and sacked M*ddenheim. Rivers of cum man, have to change pants and get another towerl or 3.
Is SSHIP worth it? It seens to have better borders.
The Renaissance unit submod for it looks GOAT
Also I like the aesthetics in general
Fucking saved; thank you based user
By the gods this motherfucker just omnislashed
literally said nothing substantive, high school girl tier respons
People involved in Europa Boringorum are mentally ill
Who could've guessed
15x germanic xbows
what a fucking pain in the ass
that IGdood reply after
There are no specific mercenary units in the game. Some factions have access to units that to a degree representative of mercenaries of the time, for example the Foreign Soldiers/Gallowglass for Mide who reflect the employment/use of Viking warriors in Irish armies
a stack of skeletons swords and spears
what's it like to play on easy
If the voice acting on selection is literally "FOREIGN SOLJAS" i will laugh
Your time has come, Knights of Origo.
What do you mean? I play on vh/vh. I got that stack from confederating with the Exiles of Nehek. I just used it to bolster a garrison. I have disbanded it by now.
Unit sizes for melee troops are consistent with past TW's at 160. Infantry bodyguards can go up to 200 in size if a general has 10 command. Missile units have 80 men as we've got them in a looser formation by default and larger than that they become a bit unwieldy. Cavalry are 60 men, a little smaller but again they're spacing has changed to help emphasis the role we have for them on the battlefield.
Please no. I have already thrown you out twice
there are a ton of units missing for wh1 factions in that pic
confederating with the Exiles of Nehek
Do the Tomb Kings confederate in ME or did you mod that it
Khalida is continuing her vampire killing and liberation of elector counts in the Empire.
Mod. I am still not allowing him to set foot in Nehekhara
mods a cheating
Time to get another book.
dumb cheat poster
ascot aspie is answering questions on reddit
not what he meant you fucking retard, he meant the picture is leaving out units from the first game to try and push a point
Empire doesnt even have mortar listed
If you really want to make a point, it's easier to point out that variations between the larger rosters and smaller are due to shit like saurus spear? saurus spear WITH A SHIELD!
I fucking love it when you kill the enemy lord with a sync kill.
hunting the books down
not just declaring war and having them march to you
AI doesnt make you work for your dinner
why you so mad
That one is just by the black pyramid though. And I own that one.
Not now elf
You were the one being mad at nothing initially though
Abhorash could never be the Vampire Counts lord, he hates most other vampires and would never fight for World domination for a fucking Von Carnstein.
You'd sooner see Abhorash as an Empire hero than as a Vampire Counts Lord
I wasn't the one calling people retards
Time to liberate Kislev. Gonna liberate some dwarfs after this. I am going to need a lot of meatsh-allies. Also Chaos is invading while my Vampire Genocide, Conquest of the Badlands and the Defence of Khatep is going on. I have to create a new army for the home defence.
A perfect fit for the defence of the homeland. Arise Wakhaf.
The conquest is going well. I am about to meet up with my temporary dwarf friends.
Here they come
The situation so far. I am glad Malekith is busy getting invaded by the high elves at the moment.
literally the next fucking day this fucking pathetic loser that never admits he's wrong is back
I literally gave examples of scenarios that were possible in Rome 2 and not in Attila.
you came up with, after literally hours of thinking about it because you're a pathetic piece of shit that can never admit he's wrong, and you came back with some hypothetical scenario that literally never happened and you even admitted that you have literally never fucking done it and yet that's your argument for R2 having more "agency" than attila? These posts you made, this fucking 10,000 word chain of the most pathetic posts I've ever fucking seen, it just keeps getting more pathetic the longer you refuse to admit how undeniably wrong you were and how 99% of your posts are talking about the conversation instead of actually having it. You specifically ignored my posts in the last thread and responded to somebody else that would be easier because you know you couldn't address my fucking points you goddamn weasel. You gave no examples. You gave pathetic excuses that you literally took hours out of your life thinking about it just to prove a point you could of just ignored and moved on from.
And this is why the franchise is in the terrible shape it's in.
Literally the only fucking example you have given in literally thousands of words
is "hur dur in rome I don't have to damage the city during a long siege hur dur this is so much agency hur dur I saved money omg so much agency"
only in that same fucking sentence you admit you've literally never done that so it's literally completely irrelevant and even you admitted that and yet it's the only fucking thing, even after 2 days, that you can think of and it's so obviously just whatever the fuck you could imagine to not be wrong but only you can't see how pathetic that is from the outside to look at.
Is this name Khemrian enough to work
which is a random gigantic essay of hypothetical features that I wished I had
which actually just deflects from the conversation I was having and ignored by responding to somebody else
because I'm the worst kind of poster on Veeky Forums and I would have been put in my place yesterday if the site didn't fart.
I've always thrown a fort in province capital by shores/in remote regions, the Wizard Caliph's Palace is the prime spot for one, too, for the Chaos invasion
Give me 20 good men and I'll impregnate the bitch
They are all walled up. Gonna buy me some time.
Vermintide 2 general dying already
Guys, in EBII, what do they mean when a building gives:
Income (+) or Expense (+-): +-100
Does it cost me money or does it make me money?
I always use the minor settlements to take out hellcannons so the actual siege of important provinces result in awful casualties for the AI
game as lacking in launch content as the first game and with a MOBA-tier toxic playerbase cant sustain a decent community
what an amazing surprise
/twg/ was slow and comfy the last couple threads
only realize now its thanks to vermintide 2 taking all the shitposters to their general
they'll come back here after the general dies off
Literally sitting there with her stupid whore legs wide open BEGGING for it
yeah but there's no naval battles, so why does that matter
Anything with +- attached to it will cost you instead of adding to your income.
why not just make it -100 and use a red font
or is practical design only for those autistic retards called accountants
Gonna be revived with mods/map maker probably
So after TWW3 comes out, what will CA do for us fantasycucks? The obvious answer is TWW40K, even the title would sorta match, but do you guys have some more interesting ideas?
middle earth total war
Total War: Trojan War
implying just because I like one fantasy setting means I like all fantasy settings
Same for historical total wars. Don't be a retard
Get the Necrosphinxes
All of them
so total war arena right.
I actully preordered rome 2 all those years ago so played in the original alpha, as a result I've got like a month of ' premium' time. figured I'd give it a try.
there are a lot of shitters
I played the Alphabetagammawhatever when it first game out
it was just some bizarre shitty amalgamation of WoT and Total War
And since it IS Wargaming, its going to be pay2win or pay2grindless
Necrosphinxes are actually excellent against single target units. Their chase attack is also really fast.
Which is ridiculous because it's a better game feature and gameplay-wise
*adjusts soyboy glasses*
Wow, can't wait for more inclusive historical content!
Maybe "The Great Women Leaders of WW2"?
yeah, that's why I'd be getting them specifically because fuck Hydras and their regen
NORTH AFRICA DLC
BUT REPLACE THE NORTH AFRICAN KINGS WITH MATRIARCHAL SUBSAHARAN WEST AFRICANS
I think on a serious note that an AmerI as game with a Hun/Chaos esque invasion at the end would be incredible, M2 doesn’t seem to have that urgency since it’s pretty easy to beat the Spanish as the Aztecs for instance.
CA are kind of unpredictable lately.
Probably even they don't know
pay2grindless most certainly, but if you link up your shit on total war access you get a month of premium time(if you played the old one+other shit), in other words the entire game experience
i'm so fucking glad is dying, u disgusting niggers
to be fair Attila did pretty much the same. If a building had
Food consumption: -50
It means you get 50 less food in that region. I assumed it meant that 50 less food would be consumed, so I'd get 50 more food.
Can change culture in EBII?
Also I have my doubts that the germanics during this time were semi-nomads and not farmers like the celts.
damn what a great start, the jew has only bad traits
they hate everyone
whats the best mod for R:TW ?
I wonder who i'm going to purge first
user this is vanilla
Then what are the jews doing in the Sillykid government.
we wuz kangs mod
maybe we should ask CA ?
WTF CA FIRST THE JEW NOW THIS ?!??!!?
are you even that surprised?
she will never hold your hand
Lord of the Rings: 1:10
Original IP: 1:8
Game of Thrones: 1:5
Game of Thrones is much more suited for CK II, but I could see LotR.
Besides the new DLC and the obvious "progressive" shit, have they added / patched anything worth mentioning?
I'm feeling like playing wome 2 again
Thing is, I reckon the GoT license would be the easiest to acquire. They're probably looking for ways to breach into the gaming market since their previous attempts have been lackluster to say the least.
How long since you last played? The new politics system, though still flawed, is a lot more fun than the old one.
I guess, from businesses side it makes sense. But it would rather boring, it's low fantasy with little substance in terms of armed regiments, few magical creatures.
How long since you last played?
after black sea colonies and before wrath of sparta, so late 2014 maybe
Shit son, a lot has changed since then
finally Veeky Forums back up, anyone have source for this pic?
can you at least give me a quick run down?
Does the politics and diplomacy work at least a bit closer to how they do in attila now?
Can barbarian factions migrate?
ULTIMATE STATE OF HISTKEKS
It just looks like someone made a Rome 2 variant of an older meme. It originally was just a younger girl and the older one and was talking about marriage.
Elspeth von Draken for unique Hero of the empire when?
no medieval 3
Here's the original if that's what you were looking for.
The only thing in Warhammer shorter than a Dawi is the Tomb Kings campaign
yeah seen the original, was just wondering if the history one had a particular person behind it.
Regiments of renowned look fun but I can't bring myself to spend any more money on a game I can barely play
AI seems to flank more often in ToB like in Warhammer
The AI gets them even if you dont and it's terribly broken
Also doesnt help that those DLCs add in regular units as well, like the Dwarf Rangers which are pretty good
stop spreading soy, this is a high test general
AI that will always outnumber you on any difficulty other than story mode can easily wrap around your lines
truly an advanced software
should I buy tomb kikes?
tfw no bright wizard gf
Sure why not
I enjoy it. You can probably get it for a lowered price too.
The AI gets them even if you dont and it's terribly broken
They added a cooldown if that is what you are referering to
GAS THE CELTS RACE WAR NOW
I agree, fuck the celts.
The Boii try to make their way to the high ground, my cavalry harasses them during their retreat
Is there any reason to play WH1 now?
Has better factions
norsca still isn't in ME
I cut off their heavy infantry from the rest of the army and finish them off with a cavalry charge from both sides
Their general and his bodyguard tried to rush after my cavalry, I feigned a retreat and got them to surround him.
We stood brave men. 1000 against 250. Let it be remembered that for every 1 man of ours killed in battle we slaughtered 1.1 men from the enemies ranks
No, I mean the RoRs are in for the AI if you don't own the DLC, the DLC is literally just an unlocker
Their cavalry is a bit quicker than mine, so many of them keep escaping every battle
It is still the AI we are talking about. It is not really a big problem
It went alright I'd say
Just declare independence and forge your Empire far from the bitch, don't be a cuck
Isn't the Mortal Empires campaign pretty much the first game? Outside of the story campaigns for WE and Beastmen.
My plan right now, since I don't have the men to attack their capital as it is, is to have my heir Hárjawulfáz run around their land pillaging. Hopefully they'll send an army after him, and then I'll bring in the warriors from Luppae, destroying their army utterly.
I might have enough men in a few turns though.
So I've taken all the vampire lands in around 10ish turns
Now I've turtled up and building monies. What now, I got orcs raiding my lands while battling humans in the north and north west, dwarfs on the brink of people wiped out but they are the most friendly to me. Do I help the dwarfs and enter a costly war with Greenskins or build an army to invade weakend (from orcs) humanland?
if you dont fight the greenskins the greenskins will fight you
Fair enough, time to help the dwarf bros
get the fuck out jingles
youre supposed to build up tech, collect cash and magic and kill all trespassers until you can unleash a horde of dead against the outside world
The Tyrannids are fleeing a horde of space skaven that devoured most of them already
so do we know if the next LL pack is going to be niggers elves and best elves or rattos and lizcucks ?
How many turns of just sitting around are we talking about? I'm already at like 25 still building tech. Should I not at least slowly expand?
Fucking hell, that stupid order-horn at 1:40.
It was in Rome II and Attila and they still have the same horn in TOB.
Why don't they change such a small thing, it already bothered me in Attila because small stuff like this takes away the feeling of novelty if it adds up with other small things.
Based fantasoy bfto histcucks you triggered yet hiscucks/fantasoys.
do both belarius wife and the emperor wife shut up if you do that ?
the packs will be Helves and Rats and Delves and Dinos
never to be trusted
what i'm in for ?
Antioch is getting a royal visit
I'M ANGRY, ANGRY ABOUT ____
Hopefully the next pack will be nigger(High)elves and best(Dark)elves
My plan worked. A large part of Alkimoennos' garrison marched out to fight my raiding party. Once they learned that Hêruwulfáz, king of the Sweboz, was approaching with 3000 spears behind him, it was too late to run. This battle with decide the fate of the war.
Imagine being a big beefy orc in a world with qt elf waifus, but you have no genitals. Whats the point?
You'd lack the hormones and instinctual desire so you wouldnt even care
new thread at image limit
are we fucking /drg/ now
Attila had it coloured red though, so not really any excuse for you on that regard
What's the point of keeping a thread going when you can't upload any more images?
so that we don't clutter the catalog?
I get what you're saying, but the thread's already on page 7.
It'll be archived soon.
And being able to post images is important desu
I mistook the ottoman hat for pants
