I've had acne for 10 years now, and I'm 99% sure it has to do with my showering routine.
I take 5 minute showers once a day, and no matter what soap or cleanser I use, my face is tight and dry, and I have to moisturize constantly. Breakouts on my shoulders and chest, too. Shit's fucked.
What does your routine look like? What products do you use? Soaps? Cleansers? Just water? Hot or cold water? Do you put your face under the spray? Do you touch your face?
I'm at a loss, but I feel like you all would know what to do.
I believe in taking care of myself, and a balanced diet and a rigorous exercise routine. In the morning, if my face is a little puffy, I'll put on an ice pack while doing my stomach crunches. I can do a thousand now. After I remove the ice pack, I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower, I use a water activated gel cleanser. Then a honey almond body scrub. And on the face, an exfoliating gel scrub. Then apply an herb mint facial mask, which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an aftershave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

Longer showers, really rub that shit in there. Also, go Luke warm, hot water dries out your skin. I use dove for men, the one with the red stripe on the box, my skin had acne, but it's no where near as bad as it used to be. I currently use garnier fructis sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner, I feel it's best for my hair, with other shampoos, my hair was falling out like crazy and it had me worried. I let my hair stylist talk me into using Paul Mitchell shampoos and conditioners before, and I did it for about 4 months, but they left my hair feeling frizzy and dry and it fell out more in the shower. To help with acne, wash your face when you wake up and before bed, and wash your bedding at least once a month
Elijah Morgan
1 .Balanced diet. 2 .Cold showers = god tier skin. 3 .Never scrub below your knees with soap. 4 .Cotton cloth to clean your body, not a scrubber ball. 5 .Exfoliate twice a week. 6. Hot water into cotton cloth face rinse first thing when waking, last thing before sleeping. 7. Vitamin E moisturizer into the skin 8. Wash your hands often 9. Don't touch your face 10. Shampoo once a week if that. Stopped years ago only condition twice a week.
Dominic Roberts
I used to have terrible acne, I bought proactive and it cleared up almost instantly. Its a 3 step cleansing routine but I used it all up and have had pretty much no breakouts in over a year. Worked on my back too. Il get the odd tiny zit on my face but its not even noticeable
Joshua Johnson
mirin dat smooth skin.
Henry Phillips
If it says body soap its for the body. If it says shampoo/conditioner its for your hair. If it says its for your face its for your fucking face.
Same applies to lotion. BODY LOTION is for your body. Get separate moisturizers for your face and body.
Cold showers are a meme and dont touch your face man.
Benjamin Wood
If you have had acne for 10 years and cleansers and healthy lifestyle haven't made then go you should see a doctor about it, I have friends who have serious acne and need to go to specialists cause nothing else works and they have made good progress
Joseph Davis
bruhv only thing that took care of my acne was accutane. now my face is smoov as fuck
Bentley James
But do you have a tanning bed?
Ayden Stewart
I wash my body with sensitive skin "soap" it doesn't actually have soap in it or some shit, no scent or any of that stuff that irritates skin Then I wash my hair with sensitive skin dandruff shampoo Then I wash my face last with pic related
I change my sheets every week I change my pillow cases every second day
Clean diet
Xavier Phillips
> giving my scalp the old lather and rinse > pull hands away once I'm done and notice 10-15 hairs tangled around my fingers > News forecaster didn't say anything about rain today ;_;
Every time I shower, I am reminded of what awaits me
Juan Nguyen
I do a nice warm shower, wash my hair with sebastian champoo and conditioner. Skin is sensitive but no issues with most soaps. I recommend braun's otherwise.
I generally go with warm shower wash body rinse wash hair rinse condition switch to 100% cold water rinse
I stay in the cold shower about 5 minutes and hop out. I lotion up in the winter months due to dry skin, otherwise no acne. I started the cold showers for dandruff issues. Cuts it down quite a bit and feels good once you're use to it.
Generally don't wash face with any specific, but I do just do a soft scrub with hands and soap while in the shower.
Elijah Howard
Then shave your head. Not hard.
Evan Harris
First off, cut out all shampoo and conditioner. I did so years ago, and my hair looks exactly how it did back then, and maybe even better.
3 or 4 times a week rub some baking soda into your hair, and that will completely clean it without drying your hair into a mat of straw.
Body wise, get soap that has little chemicals in it. I'm talking like a herbal soap or some hippy shit like that.
Regarding your acne, it could be because you don't change your bed sheets or clothing enough. Excess body oil and excretions makes acne, so wash that shit. Also, drink lots of water, stop eating fast food and other cheap, saturated fat foods.
Both hot and cold water has their benefits. Cold water tightens up your skin, and makes you awake, while hot water does the opposite. It depends on what you want to do that day- if you need to be fully awake early, do a cold shower.

Are you a woman?

I like to dissect girls. Did you know I'm utterly insane?

Then get a buzz cut.
Not him but would recommend it if you can moisturize your hair. My shit was usually brittle til.
Leo Morgan
I usually take really hot and steamy showers, but I know that lukewarm showers a best. No soap or shampoo/conditioner except for my hands.
Jordan Hall
I had acne until age 25. Benzoyl peroxide cleared me up in about a month. Just use after shower with some face wash, and don't rinse it off. Your skin will be dry af so ease into using multiple times/day.
Isaiah Watson
How u shave bro
Nathan Young
I haven't used shampoo in 2 years and my hair is better than ever.
Still use good soap on my body though.
Michael Gonzalez
I care more about my skin than muscles, real talk ;p
Use a single blade disposable razor, it ensures the hair never goes under the skin. You will have to shave more often but it's worth it in the long run.
Also use polysporin on inflamed areas overnight.
Find a good facial scrub to remove dead skin from your face that is trapping hairs underneath your skin.
Short strokes, dispose of razor after 3 shaves.
Good luck!
Ethan Cox
>shave butthole >fart
This is incredible, the odor is so clear. I can actually identify the different chemicals involved.
Isaiah Rivera
shaving your asshole is a bad decision

>3 .Never scrub below your knees with soap.
Why's that user?
Luke Fisher
I have scalp psoriasis, diagnosed two months ago. Had it since childhood, but just thought it was dandruff.
So far I've been treating myself by cutting out all products, shampoos and such, and instead of using the insanely expensive hyperallergenic stuff recommended at the hospital I've just rubbed aloe vera into my scalp whenever It gets bad and sores develop. I've tried to stress as little as possible because apparently psoriasis is autoimmune and reacts to stress? Idk.
If anyone has experience with this stuff pls help. Cutting out products helped but I look like shit.
Jackson Davis
ace thanks man!
Isaac Phillips
Use cetaphyl sensitive skin. You can use it without water after your shower... dont rinse your face during your shower. After that use a hypoallergenic moisturizer (cetaphyl also has some) never pop your zits or you'll break out more. Then when you're done at the gym. Have a quick cold water rinse and repeat... i suggest no more than 2 face washes a day but if you feel like your face got dirty then obviously you have no choice but to wash it. If you need to exfoliate that just use oatmeal that's been soaked in warm water for 10 minse and gently rub it on your face (only once a week if max if you're a sensitive skin nigga like me)
Jace Brooks
You have dark circles too, Lotus?
Ican't get rid of them.
Zachary Sanchez
I'd like to know about this too. My circles are wayyy darker than Lotus's and even though I'm almost certain mine are genetic I'd love to know of any potential reduction methods.
Logan Howard
Been workin since I was 11 nigga, dafuq you think!!!!
Carson Myers
I feel you.
From far away I'm an 8 objectively but little do people know I'm lowkey trippin on my scalp and skin all day since i was like 12.
Sounds weird, but rubbing your scalp with honey and letting it sit for hours and rinsing it off helps. There's even been academic studies on that one if you want to look it up. It gets harder if you have longer hair. I usually only do the honey rubs right after I buzz my hair because otherwise my whole head is weird and blotchy and shit (but if I let my hair grow out it just gets worse so I like to control it).
Best of luck man, you're in for a tough go of it.
Isaac Hill
Wanna be free from acne? Go vegan.
Alexander Cruz
Upon further analysis it's genetic. Had those dark circles under my eyes since I was a child. Never bothered me and still don't. They shouldn't bother you either...
Jace Rogers
Working since 11? fuck man, I thought you canadians had it easy.
Also, I took your advice from the CBT and took a head on pic from when I started lifting
Parker Richardson
How do you feel about Huey Lewis and The News?

Your body gets used to it. Enjoy having to clean every single hair each time you shit.

>wash face before get in >get in, luke warm water, too hot can damage skin >rinse all of my body >shampoo >exfoliate >rinse out shampoo >put in conditioner >shave >use body wash shit all over body >rinse everything off >double check no product on skin ANYWAY rly gotta make sure >cold water on face to close pores >get out >hydrating spray on face (rose water shit) >eye cream >natural roship moisturiser with a drop of vitamin c concentrate on face >moisturise body >done am i supposed to green text this idk first time throughout the whole thing i make sure no product gets on my face and actually rinse it a few times. im always very gentle on face.
Nathaniel Adams
My husband has the same exact thing. He is from Canada and never had this problem before. He came to the US and instantly his head and face had red blotches and flaky skin all over. He uses special ointments that have "tar" in them specially made for psoriasis. He also shaves his head since he's going through the final stages of male pattern baldness. Just keep at it man. I think it's genetic and will always be there. They say diet and environment is a huge factor in the breakouts. We don't bother with hypoallergenic shit or cologne junk, just that psoriasis curing shampoos and tar ointments
I got the same thing but I use specific shampoo from vichy I think and it's kept decently under control
Caleb Richardson
i literally just use basic soap and 2 in one shampoo/conditioner
hair is good skin is great thx genetics
gl op
Liam Flores
What do you mean by clean/balanced diet?
Easton Kelly
Feel like I need to state the obvious here, if there are any dumbfucks reading. This is nigger skin specific.
Jeremiah Butler
>hyperallergenic
You mean the opposite of this, actually. Hypo- is not the same as hyper-.
Nolan Garcia
>NOT using shampoo is a meme
What? Using shampoo IS the meme, you fucking retard. It's a marketing scheme which literally depends on it being a meme.
Henry Lee

Fuck off uggo/landwhale. Beg for attention somewhere else.

I'm a gay male.
Tyler Watson
In that case do you want to make love no homo just the tip?
Eli Clark
Dry yourself completely with the towel. Don't let drops sit on your skin after you leave the shower.
Doing that removed all the acne my brother had on his back
Camden Cox
Im happily married to the greatest man, I'll have to decline.
Justin Wright
I had bad skin as a teen. Tried a bunch of stuff till I found what works for me. >work out eat clean, etc. It makes sense and you find you get better results if you have a good sweat morning and evening before your shower. >switch to an electric razor or trimmer. Razers irritate skin, shaving that close can lead to ingrown hairs or more pimples if you have he type of skin that breaks out if irritated. I use a trimmer or a 3 coil shaver >shower in cooll water. Use a bar soap and wash cloth. Lather up the wash cloth good and start by srubbing your face. Up, down, circular, then put your face under the shower. A wash cloth will clean and lightly exfoliate, leaving you skin clean and fresh. Forget the bath puffs, luffas and soap gets. Just use a real bar soap and wash cloth. Do a better job and lasts longer >Navy shower. That is, lather and rince off twice same routine, only cooler/cold. Face first then he rest of the body. Get it down and its still an efficient 5 min shower. >dry with a clean towel, but also rub the skin with the towel vigerously so you get some bloodflow and wake up the skin nice. >moisterize your skin with a non greasy moisterizer. I started with a bottle of Jergens Lotion with the pump top. But I have been refilling it with the cheap Cocobutter lotion from the supermarket for years. Cocobutter helps diminish karks and scars. Rub that shit in on your face then lotion he rest of your body. If you have light skin use a lotion with sunblock in there.
So in conclusion. Work out. Electric shaver (though some may disagree). Navy shower with bar soap and washcoth. Wash vigerously. Dry vigerously. Moisterizer your face and body with a good lotion that can work for body/face.
Bonus tip. Baby power applied by a dry area of your towel powder your nuts, tain buttcrack, chest, underarms, back, neck. Cool and fresh all day.
Landon Powell
But you're gay. Pretty please with cum on bottom?
