For those who might be a bit confused with the graphs from Nuckol's new article, here's pic related.
Seems pretty clear that the space between B and C is the initial pushing back of the bar, probably why the anterior deltoid activation quickly decays after the initial pushing, and why the pec major activation goes up after C (where it's mostly transverse flexion left on the range of motion).
Kinda sucks that they didn't detail it further on the pec major, would be great the have the different EMG for the clavicular and sternal (or even sternal and coastal) fibres of the chest.
I'll be a bit more free this week, so I might do my own writeup on the bench press. I've talked about the biomechanics of different parts in plenty of separate posts, but it would be good to make an actual article on all of it kinda like I did for the squat/hamstrings.
The other russian graph looks like equipped bench to me. Veeeery slow descent and a lot of anterior delts and a lot less triceps and chest. A bit weird.
Keep in mind surface EMG is not the end-all-be-all of biomechanics and do not show the full picture. It's very limited.
Smeshed it. Could have done another four at least. Did 5lbs more than what was prescribed. Gonna do 385x10 on day 2. Did 375 today. I did short rests on triples so that was pretty tough.

Probably because EMG sucks and is pretty unreliable on its own, and this is the graph of a single lifter. As Sheiko said before, there's some pretty big variation on the lat activation from lifter to lifter.
But what Nuckols said about the biomechanics in his article and Sheiko concludes in his post sums it up. Lats keep your back tight and your shoulders stable during benching (helps with the arch and depression of the scapulae). That's pretty much it.

OHP - 60 KG
Bench - 100 KG
Deadlift 200 KG
And ended up with these:
OHP - 76 KG
Bench - 108 KG
Deadlift - 210
his is done in a course of 3-4 months.
Should I change my routine? Im currently cutting at least until december. Im 195cm and 119 Kg. My bench is obviously lacking. I had trouble with my knees so im building my squat up. Im currently at 2,5 plate (used to squat 3 plates)
