2) If you've been consuming an adequate number of calories in the past few days, and today is the exception, then you're fine. You might not have enough energy for the run, but that's something you can judge yourself.

3) A diet is successful because you have a moderate caloric deficit over a long period of time. Cutting to 700 calories per day will just cause your body to go crazy, and you'll probably fail in the diet due to extreme hunger, sickness, et cetera.

Regardless, you still need energy. I wouldn't recommend doing anything other than you've suggested, because there's a good chance you'll get light headed.

LOL I'm not Lyle, but I am doing RFL now and have done it in the past. If you are gonna crash diet, do it right with at least a somewhat calculated approach.

PS. you could also torrent v.1 of the book for free online and figure out the rest on the forums, and still be way more successful than your shitty chips-and-chocolate milk diet, but imo it was worth the money.

There are no advantages unless you are below 10% body fat. However, ketosis = weight loss.

Unless you mean literally starving, in which case you'd be ingesting closer to zero calories a day rather than 700.

700 is more than enough calories to be getting all necessary nutrients, assuming you have enough body fat to cover the lack of carbohydrates.
