Can someone redpill me on PPL?

Can someone redpill me on PPL?

I've seen a lot of hype about PPL over strength routines lately and wondering if I should switch.

I'm at 1/2/3/4 right now and care about size more than strength at the moment. Unfortunately I visited snap city and might have to cut legs for a little while so I need an upper body routine 4 times a week which is why I was thinking of switching temporarily as well.

I'm currently doing 5/3/1 BBB with added assistance exercises for bis, tris, pullups, etc.

I can bluepill you on it instead :^)

Meme routine

th-thanks...

PPL is for no life gymcels who actually think training 6 days a week is some how going to make some massive difference to their gains therefore increasing their overall success in life.

If you ever bring this up with them they just say
>oh well I really enjoy lifting so I want to be in the gym everyday

What a bullshit pathetic excuse, get a life bro.

But what's the point of having push/pull exercises on different days? They fatigue different muscle groups?

Agreed. Also it's to reddit what SS is to Veeky Forums.

>gymcel
Speak English you fucking mongoloid .

But what's the purpose of them? Strength, hypertrophy or both?

Is it OK to focus on hypertrophy only or you need to be really strong before you should?

>being this new
Top kek

Yep. This exactly. And you can go much harder on the muscle groups you do work. I love PPL (although I do PLP).

kinda like how I go VagAnalMouth on my GF

VAMVAMx

good to know.

you have a good starting routine? like I said I'm doing 5/3/1 but I cant do squats or deadlifts for a little while and I might even have to give heavy The Press a rest, so I might as well try something new until I heal.

PPL is basically the same as most brosplit routines.
Push=chest/tris
Pull=back/bis
Legs=legs obv.
The biggest difference I've noticed is that PPL routines are generally more strength oriented with some hypertrophy accessories added based on preference, whereas brosplits focus more on isolating small muscle groups for maximum hypertrophy.

GJ. I'm doing 5/3/1 also due to my schedule where I can't gym on Wednesdays, so it works. 1/2/3/4 is my goal for that routine :/ Got ways to go. After that I'll look something up. Not sure if anything will beat 5/3/1 since like others I dont see any use for more than 4 days in a gym unless you are cutting and trying to maintain muscle. I don't think it will make you bigger, but I'm no expert. Good luck and keep up the good work, you gonna make it!

thx man, I made 1/2 like 2 years ago and it took me a long long time to get to 3/4. I don't know why. just keep lifting and eating.

What's the best type of workout for all round strength and size? Does anybody have an answer?

Texas method

...

I'm sorry I don't subscribe to your Reddit meme-lexicon.

Texas Method or Madcow.

>that blonde hair
>that sleeveless tux
>standing there stiff and awkwardly
>your wife is wearing a slutty wedding dress to show off her obnoxiously large fake tits
>your Wedding Officiant looks like roided up version of pic related

JUST

This looks absolutely retarded

No it's not. Brosplits have you hitting each muscle once per week.

PPL has you hitting each muscle multiple times per week and takes advantage of the 24hr/48hr recovery window.

It's literally better than brosplits in every regard.

What makes a good PPL routine? any tried and tested ones?

PPL is kinda shitty desu. It only hits every muscle group twice a week if you go PPLPPL which is 6 fucking days a week.
UpperLowerxUpperLower master race.

PPL lets you hit each muscle group twice a week, that's why people like it

>being this mad about people's routines

That's also hitting each muscle group twice a week..

Exactly my point. Just 2 less days in the gym.

yeah I've been doing upper/lower but as I mentioned I can only do upper for the time being. I don't want to only workout 2 days.

But I like going to the gym, and I have time for it

Get a life bro. Hobbies.

>Currently doing PPL switching from BroSplits
>See this thread

I genuinely feel like PPL is superior in every way. It might entirely be a mental thing from going to the gym more frequently, though. I feel like I'm making way more strides than I did with brosplits

Can anyone provide any actual info that states otherwise? Or why they think PPL isn't good?

I only switched because I felt like I was wasting recovery time hitting each part only once a week.

If you ever bring this up with them they just say
>oh well I really enjoy lifting so I want to be in the gym everyday

What a bullshit pathetic excuse, get a life bro.

PPLPPLR and PPLRPPL are the fucking same. You still go 6 days a week and hit twice a week.

> Waaaaaaah stop liking what I don't like!
Nice

You're saying that you prefer fewer days per week but more exercises per day. We prefer to go more often but for less time. You're the autist for freaking out about this minor distinction in two otherwise nearly identical workout plans.

>get a life bro
>get a life
>a life

Do you know where you are right now

Of course I like lifting. I also like many other things.
>we
Dyel?

Then stop piling shit on people who also like lifting, but like it more than you. You're just mad that they want results more than you do. Nothing more, nothing less.

This. Never looking back. Best way to a balanced physique.

I just go for the middle term and do PPLxULx.

Do you guys make up routines or get them from somewhere??? Looking for a routine since beginning of thread.

>You're just mad that they want results more than you do
I'll take that as a no. Life Pro-tip: Get hobbies.

Working out is a hobby, you tool

Also, I'm not the guy you asked DYEL to

Pick a routine you like in some routine general thread and tweak it. You can also just google PPL or whatever.

See, now THAT seems silly. Just stick to PPLxPPL or ULxULxx.

Having done both I can tell you they're basically the fucking same. All just depends on how much you want to do in 1 visit. Shorter trip? Do PPL. Have time to stay for like 2 hours? Do UL.

I just made one up, but there's probably tons out there floating around
I have hobbies. lifting is one of them. It's called time management, you'll need to learn that once you grow up

Is there a general rule for sets/reps or is it all over the place?

>did you girls see user talking about going to the gym 6 days a week?
>he must be such an insecure loser, he must not have any life outside the gym
>lol he doesn't even have abs LOL

>and then he told me: I goto the gym 6 days a week

> going for the gym for an hour a day means you don't have a life
> wah I can't wake up an hour earlier in the morning boo hoo life is hard

(These are negative images, laughing at you)

You'll understand once you have a big boy job. Bye.

Why can't you admit you have no life outside of the gym? Not surprising coming from an insecure GYMCEL who still feels the need to lie anonymously.

> oh shit I know nothing about this person
> better assume they don't have a job!
> nailed it
Goddammit every time I think "no, surely people can't get any more retarded", you guys keep proving me wrong.

Nigga I'm 21 after being a fat cunt for 20 of those years. I'm as far as you can get from a gymcel. Keep making assumptions about my life if you'd like though. Whatever helps you sleep at night, my man.

PPL GYMCEL btfo

I've been doing PPL, on rest days I do cardio so I'm in my home gym everyday around the same time.

I like it, it gives me a habit. I feel weird when I skip a day.

A
squats
leg press
ghr
calves or abs or whatever

B
Bench
THE PRESS
chest dips
lateral raises

C
deadlift
rows
pullups
curls

OP here I make decent money, work from home from home office, live with girlfriend, have lots of friends, have a gym close by so I can work out 7 days a week no problem. It's pretty easy to fit into schedule.

>lol he doesn't even have abs LOL

Post your body samefaggot

TY. Are compounds normally less reps or do a 3x10 or something?

All you guys doing PPLPPLx, try PxPxLxx. I guarantee your gains will be no different. 6 days is simply overkill.m and you're essentially training for no extra benefit besides a bit more calories.

i do 3x5 and go for 8 on the last set

'no'

protein synthesis lasts for about 48 hours meaning if you train every 3rd day your muscles will always be undergoing protein synthesis

this is why PPL exists the way it does, if you're going 3 days a week you should be doing full body and you're a little weener

>Nigga I'm 21
So no big boy job kek.

>he fell for the protien synthesis meme

Mate, all that matters is that your making progress, so long as your hitting s muscle at least once every 7-10 days if you're getting stronger it's going to grow.

You frequency and protein synthesis fags really have taken those few studies to the extreme retardation point of no return.

All that matters is are you progressing, frequency and protien synthesis is irrelevant.

I'm gonna try PPxPPxx and switch to PPLxPPL when I am healed. I'll report news in a few months and we can settle this debate ONCE AND FOR ALL.

BTW do any of you switch up your assistance workouts on the 2nd PPL? I tend to do different kinds of pull ups, curls, tricep workouts in a given week.

'no'

if you're only hitting a muscle group every week-10 days ur a weenie and a tard kek

sucks ur not making gains dude

>65 / 9 / 29 / 1
One mad PPL newfag getting owned over and over. Actually entertaining.

The damage control is strong with those one. At least he's strong at that.

it's just stupid when people say they don't have time for something. What they mean is 'I'm not willing to make time for that' an hour a day is nothing considering the benefits of being fit.

There are many ways to do a PPL routine. Some focus on strength, some on hypertrophy. The big benefit of PPL is more volume and frequency, which is 100% necessary for intermediate lifters looking to achieve either goal

I recently snapped my shit too and was considering doing PPL until I'm fully recovered, except I'd only do leg day once a week.
