Who /finals/ here?

who /finals/ here?

>taking fuckton of stem courses
>as a result skipped more classes than ever before
>realizing I know much less than I should at this point
>all the work and exams are piling on

>vyvance fucks with both

at least summer will be 3 months of nothing but gains r-right bros?

> falling for the uni meme
> not doing a trade

I am a fkn 35yr oldfag. No school brehs

im with you bro, last summer i benched 2pl8 for the first time... now i only rep 70kg..

prioritize. Exams are more important than your gains. good exams = good grade= hopefully good job = more money to buy chicken = more gains

children please go away

Taking engineering now. Since I go to a shitty university (although it's D1) my professors are dog shit. I took an online class and I kid you not, the professor didn't post one fucking lecture the whole semester. Literally self-taught myself this entire course with the textbook.

I wish all of university was online though. People could actually get a full time job. Do you have any idea how hard it is to find a decent paying job when all your classes are staggered smack dab in the middle of the work day from 9am-3pm.

Oh look his parents paid for his college

>falling for the working in industry until your body gives out like a fucking pleb meme

Went to uni, got a top tier job with computers. Have time to lift, money, and I won't have black lung at 35 like most welders.

check how much content you have left and calculate how much hours you need to study it, divide it in 5-6 days a week from today to 4-5 days before the exam and make a schedule.
When you have a strict routine, things just happen, you don't even need to push yourself, you set your mind to ''this is what I do''
Come on there's no point on making it if you have to spend all summer studying bro.
You can do this.

>more money to buy chicken
kek'd

this

I did blue collar for almost 3 years in my early 20's. You know what a lot of blue collar workers tells me? "I always knew I'd be able to make decent money I just never knew I'd have to work twice as hard to do it". Most of these blue collar workers that are bragging about their 80-100k are working around 60+ hours a week.

Meanwhile I have a brother in finance and he makes 110k for only 30 hours a week.

>going to school
>not owning your own business

>double major in bio and physics
>two years in and i hate bio
>going to drop it
>19 credits this semester all stem, gains have gone down the toilet for the most part
>mfw 12 credits next semester
>but also mfw i look back and realize i took literally 30 unnecessary credits of time consuming bio and chem courses

at least orgo was cool
at least ill be happy for the back half of college

yeah but it's not like everyone can get to that salary studying finance
it's a very competitive sector and you have to stand out a lot

Maybe in finance, but comp sci is 70-80k straight out of school even with a B/C average gpa. So many openings it's almost impossible to not get a job.

Not with poo-in-loo and ching-lees taking all the jobs. And especially not with idiots like you talking about it.

holy shit lmao

Nah, if you knew jack shit you would know that foreigners have a hard fucking time getting jobs in America. Because companies have to pay fees to "sponsor" their green card to work here. So, the jobs go to hard working Americans.

me
I even feel bad for skipping an hour of study this morning to get a haircut
anyway my exams are pretty far away
the first one is the 27th of may, the second, 7th of June, and the 3rd and 4th, 15th and 16th

completely wrong

even semi competent CS majors are fucking set

yo I'm
don't confuse me with
this fag
I agree and I happen to study economics, not sure what the fuck am I gonna do when I finish, if I don't get a very cool master or something I'll spend the rest of my life eating shit
I'm not sure if I'm using the right word, by master I mean that shit you do for 2 years after you graduate from university to specialize in your sector

Why would you take comp sci. at uni? It is a complete waste of money and time. Sauce: programmer making 75K self taught in multiple languages and programs.

>70-80k out of school.

How much crack are you smoking? Don't fall for the uni meme.

Studying my ass off and getting diagnosed and prescribed adhd medicine has made school not too bad as a Ch E. but next semester balancing fraternity life and school gonna be rough. Did not get to lift past 3 days and my diets been shit. But i believe brahs.

Yeah, i had bio finals 3 weeks ago, math 1 week ago, chemistry next monday and then physics 3 weeks from now. I don't know how my parents talked me into doing into medicine. Gone from a 6 day PPL to once or twice a week full body workout, and just before summer aswell.

What's your stats? I've been running a bro split with legs chest back x arms/shoulders x. I really need to cut to look juicy at 6'4 230 but damn I love food and beer.

>Went through math degree with 3.8 GPA
>Had plenty of time to lift, work, and have a gf

I never really could sympathize with those who struggled to find time.

>implying you weren't naturally gifted at math and rarely studied because it all came naturally to you and you could figure your way through exams because it was all based on a skillset you were gifted in

same goes for compsci majors

I never said that I wasn't. I just said that I can't sympathize/empathize, obviously because I seem to understand math more than the average person.

Ch E, always loved Chem but now I realize I love calculus and am damn good at it. Also discovers comp sci, loved that and picked up a minor. The question is what is the best programming language to be fluent in and what spoken language Spanish or German?

Different colleges have more rigorous math programs. My brother at Columbia University will be able to get his applied math degree from Linfield College only after going to Columbia for 2 years.

Yeah, I didn't go to MIT or Caltech tier, but I don't believe I went to super-shitty university for math. I'm not super autistically gifted at it, just more than the average person. And after meeting many people who are much more successful, and busier than me who also found time to be quite successful at lifting, I find it hard to believe the average doesn't have time in the day.

On a side note, I always wanted to see a log of activities for the day/week of a person who complains they have no time for X, because I have a feeling they'd end up with plenty of time.

>comp sci is a programming degree

People who complain about time normally are people who procrastinate at least that's what I've seen. Plus I don't go to a prestigious university so if you aren't an engineer/pharmacy or accounting you really have no excuse.

I know, I'm just curious what language is the most common in the industrial field.

lol nigga you aint even started med school yet

Depends on your course load too. Some people might be taking 3 or 4 more classes than you.

I always had a full course load, which was 3-4 math courses a semester. The only people who were talking more courses than me were engineers, and professional programs. I get your point that everyone's circumstances are different, but the majority of people are average and actually do have plenty of time on their hands.

>not putting lifting on hold until after finals week
come on son
if you dont get that grade to get that job to get that how are you going to get them gains?
how you gonna pay for the protein

>finishing my bachelors in physiology
>entering pharmacy school
>getting pretty bored of tedious health science
>never followed my dreams of being a programmer, was scared of not making money and being a coding monkey for some project i didn't give a shit about
>regrets
>debt
>30 years old

I've started going to the gym in the evening so that I can study in the morning instead.
But holy fuck the gym in the evening is a shit fest compared to the mornings. Its fucking packed with curl bros everywhere and then the people who do squat do some lmao 3pl8 with 1/8 ROM

cryin

biological engineer major in my senior year checking in

this year has been ok. stay on top of things and by now all the important concepts have "clicked" so I don't spend a lot of time in the struggle phase of learning anymore.

however I was probably average 2 all nighters a week my junior year. on campus at 8am to 5pm 5 days a week. two 3 hour labs with 10+ page technical reports for each session. difficult assignments necessitating at the very least 4+ hours to digest and complete. on and on and on.

ended up getting hit with depression purely at the chemical / hormonal level just because I was perpetually sleep deprived, on top of eating only once a day (usually).

bench dropped from 355 to 275 on a good day, squat dropped from 410 to literally grinding 315 for a single.

anyway, by the end of summer my bench was up to 385 and my squat hit 445. there's a light at the end of the tunnel brahs. no matter how terrible it might seem. keep pushing.

>my face now when I'm faced with a few measly weeks of long nights and deadlines after an entire fucking year in the hell that was my junior year

Lol I graduated last year and am currently a meet full time professional bodybuilder

Yeah I'll start job hunting..
Next Monday I promise

>I just said that I can't sympathize/empathize
Those words are not synonymous. You can probably sympathize but can't empathize.

> learning java == degree with useful long term skills to keep you relevant in an ever changing market.

Implying

Have fun being a code monkey, I'll be your boss in under a year because I know underlying principles.

Becoming a code monkey is a real fear, but money never should have been. Pharma at least pays well, just keep at it. Put money away or invest it and retire early enough to enjoy your life. You only get one.

Yours didn't? haha

Depends on what you're working on. Top ones are java, C#, obj C, the bundle of internet programming tools. There are many more you could work with, but those are the big ones.

Did I dun goofed for graduating in networking?

hf working in the IT department brah

Complaining about a test a week at most
Try having them all at the same week

pic related is awesome but I keep forgetting to eat, sleep, wash and drink

modafinil is fucking disgusting why would you take that shit... it doesnt even help you concentrate just keeps you awake.

neet here

only thing i have is lifting

should i just kill myself?

finished my last law school final two days ago. got three weeks off before i start bar prep. feels good man.

Helps me concentrate greatly and it way better than becoming an amphetamine junkie

26 and on dat der no school train 3 years strong. When are you cucks gonna stop taking summer off so you can graduate earlier and start making some fucking money!?

>tfw computer engineering
>tfw 3.1 GPA, graduating in 3 weeks and already have a job starting @ 77k

It?

>19 credits
hahahaha wtf are u doing familia. You had to get special permission to do that right? At my uni (UW Madison) you literally can't take more than 18 credits a semester unless you get special permission

Why are you in math if you are going into medicine? You a retard or something?

I had a friend who went into comp sci for a couple years, having already gained tons of knowledge and experience in programming. He just made connections with a few profs and project teams, got incredibly shitty grades, got offered a job working for the school and dropped out. Not sure exactly how much he makes, but he put a down payment on a reasonably nice house the next year.

Im a sophomore in dietetics but im gonna switch for comp sci. Am i doing it right if i want a comfortable life?
Im good at maths so no problem there

Mobile app dev
IT isn't my cup of tea

>tfw I stopped lifting before starting uni
>tfw slowly see my body getting skinnier and lighter
>tfw it's paying off because I've only been getting straight A's

Math is generally unrelated to comp sci, although they complement well. Yes, you're doing it right for easy mode life.

Not if you like networking. But the job market will be mostly IT.

> not knowing that your undergrad literally doesn't matter when going into medicine.

My Gf's gp was a CS major, then he went to get his MD

>My Gf
>Gf
>then he went to get his MD
>he
>his
>Gf

Currently working on my bachelor thesis in nursing. Haven't lifted properly in two weeks. I got sick last week too and didn't even get out of bed for three days. Now we're almost done just need to tidy up and make sure references are on point. Will probably hand it in a day before the deadline. Fuck I was so close squatting two plates for reps now I can't even squat 90kgs for five.

Worst part is I don't really wanna work as a nurse. I might try and get into law and become a lawyer after I've completed my two years contract with the hospital.

> when your reading comprehension doesn't exist.

Try again. "When my Gf's gp" aka my girlfriend's general practitioner, aka the doctor who my gf goes to.

general practitioner, you dolt

> 4 years working to be a nurse
> doesn't want to be a nurse

Nigger what are you doing?!

college isn't hard. anyone who thinks so cannot manage their time correctly and shouldn't be in college. it's amazing what you can get done in a couple hours with maximum focus.

they made it so easy with curving grades and just general retardation that it's unreal.

I may specialize in anesthesia or intensive care, which is each their own masters degree in top. But I'm not sure I want to work shifts the rest of my life. It's not really compatible with lifting and a nice and comfortable white collar day job seems much easier.

Also I'd work with a lot more guys which would be better.

This.

It's just a shame I live in a country where admission to the good and prospective professions and careers (well every course actually but who the fuck goes to college for a non-profession major?) are based on your high school GPA. And I barely graduated HS.

Where im from you have to do 1 year of the 4 basic science subjects to continue, to pretty much sift out people who don't really belong there.
It's pretty much calc 2, statistics, bio, biochem, organic chem, "normal" chem, and then 2 physic courses. This is done at a 200% speed (compared to if you took the courses one by one). We take the courses with the people who are doing the separate science bachelors.

You need 80% to pass (you can only pass and fail the courses and failing one out of 4 exams is enough to not pass) and roughly 50% fail at least one and can't continue with medschool. So it's pretty cutthroat.

how do I get someone to even employ me for 30 hours a week?

>tfw community college drop out
>tfw fell for the "college isn't hard" meme

Hopefully you're going to a big name firm user (e.g. Jewgle, microsuck, twatter, Yahomo, etc) because otherwise you'll get stuck in your small no name go nowhere firm. And if you work for a small firm and get a lot done, when you go for an interview with a big firm, the interviewing engineers there (who get nothing done because internal politics, shirking, etc) are put off by you and instantly start grilling you with academic trivia to find a reason to not hire you. And if you pass all their academic trivia, they'll say you don't fit their culture and pass on you.

And if get nothing done at a small firm, they fire you, which forces you to get a lot done for yourself, returning you to the previous situation when you apply for a big Corp.

Typically it becomes an option when you've worked at a firm a while. You can sometimes shift your work to at home or having less hours if you prove your productivity.

t. psychology major

>with maximum focus.

and also activating you almonds right nigger ?

What do you think every uni students try to do ? Getting things done with " moderate focus" ?

>curving grades

I haven't had a professor curve anything in any of my engineering classes. I've had classes where the class average on a test was a forty percent, and they still didn't curve it. College is only easy if you pick an easy degree like you did.

thanks user

my university's premed program requires up through calc 2, myself..

>maximum focus
>being able to focus on school work
>monkey

bruh im at like 100 credits that don't go towards my dr

the company isn't primarily tech like google/apple but its a top 10 fortune 500 company. I'll be in Austin TX as well so a lot of room to shop around my skills.

>falling for the trade meme
>not being a lawyer
>not billing $350 for an hour of your time

It's like you don't want to life on Jew-God easy mode

I fell for that uni meme too user. Best option is too continue to lift and play some spooky pc games. Then cram hours before. Shits cash

Yeah I'm just living off loans. One day I'll be rich.

lol exactly what i do. i dont attend lectures or study and just cram everything 2 days before exam time

Yes. An engineering student I knew kept his TV on by his desk and would watch bullshit sit coms all evening while doing homework.

>duuuuuude
>engineering is so haaaard
> had 7 hours of homework yesterday!

I don't know how fuckers can skip lecture and feel no remorse whatsoever. We're fucking paying for these classes and these bitchass know-it-alls skip every lecture then still end up getting a decent grade. Fuck em.

Meanwhile I'm attending every lecture and every discussion and still struggle. Fuck internationals and fuck lower division stem courses.

Lol. It's called actually doing work outside of class and not expecting teachers to spoon feed you information.

I'm taking 22 in the fall. Nbd. Taking 16 this semester and I have a ton of blowoff time, plus with 10 hrs/wk

i skip and make good grades.
lecture is not time efficiently spent for me, and i'm not saying i'm gifted.
including the trip to uni and home, the pacing of most lectures, and the awful questions with which my classmates waste precious time, i find myself better off studying material on my own. the internet is wonderful for autodidactic learning

It really depends on the class for me. In some classes, the lecture is extremely helpful, either because the professor is really good, or the book is terrible. In those cases, I attend religiously because it's very helpful and I do much better in learning and retaining the information.

In other classes, the lecture is either terrible or just unhelpful, or maybe it's ok but the book is far better. In the former case I won't attend because spending fifty minutes learning nothing is a complete waste of time, ESPECIALLY if the professor thinks fucking proofs are sufficient teaching. In the latter case I'll skip because I can learn much more in the time of a lecture from reading the book than I would being in lecture.

Your time is precious, and if you're working then it's highly unlikely you'll have time to do everything you need to. You need to prioritize, and sometimes that means skipping lectures to better utilize your time. Of course this doesn't apply to faggot professors that make attendance a huge part of your grade and treat you like a fucking five year old that can't manage their time.

Whats the difference
