10 wks ago I was conventional DL
Did my warm ups. Started work sets.
Set 1) 485 x 5
set 2) 515 going for 5 get 3 then......
My wife was behind me which I didn't know and she threw a bunch of 12' moulding next to me and distracted me.
My lower back cracked (like when you crack your back).
Some pain but not a lot. Dropped the weight and did the rest of my accessories - no problems. No pain next day.
Gave it 3 weeks of no dead lifts. Same thing this time with only 385.
Gave it 4 weeks of no deads. Same thing with only 315.
I'm able to hit heavy goodmornings, reverse hypers, weighted back extensions with no pain or ill effects.

I know its not a disc issue, anybody have a clue. Form is not the problem. I do these without a belt for the past 5 yrs with zero problems. Could it be a muscle injury? The only change to my routine prior to this was about 12 wks prior doubled up on the ab & core work.

Did the Candito program twice in a row, stats went from 80kg bench to 100kg, 120kg squat to 160kg, deadlift from 170kg to 200kg. Recently I've been ill and lost a lot of strength, I can't carry on this program without getting absolutely fucked up due to this loss of strength, everything feels alien all of a sudden after a month of not going. Any ideas or tips? Maybe a program change? Also at 80kg, been strength training for just a few months.

I was the user posting about sciatica a few months ago.
Back is in low level pain pretty often, shoots down to legs.
I took time off training and it got way worse, i was doing stretches and nerve flossing, pain doubled really.
I've found that doing a 5x10 back extension with 60kg or 5x10 good morning with 60kg completely eliminates the pain in my back for a few days, same thing when i do direct ab stuff.

I was able to pull a PR of 220kg for 5 reps the other day (best was 220x3 and 220x5 off blocks. I was reading up on sciatica and a lot of people had success overcoming it by doing direct lumbar strengthening stuff like back extensions, a phsyio mate also told me strengthening the area around the injury is going to help quality of life.

Back way off the weight until you find correct form, better yet spend some time with just the bar and get used to the feel of a correct squat. Your current method is so broken blow that shit up and start over
