Today is a good day. Did a 10 hour day welding and other farm shit, had a two hour nap.

Felt like poo at the gym, so I decided to switch my workout from a 1rm, to 2x1 with 30 second break at 160kg, only 10kg behind my 1rm.

Probably a silly pr, but meh. A pr is a pr.

I read the Bulgarian manual from cuckols. Started doing that. In three weeks my squat went from 150 to 170. My back off sets are never particularly heavy. Usually 140 2-3x2.

Because I'm still so weak, I don't really need a lot of volume or intensity in my back offs. My daily maxes are still enough to drive progress.

When you say PR I assume it's the maximum weight you can move at given set/rep scheme.

How often a week do you squat?

Monday through Thursday. Friday is deadlift day.

Aiming for 180 this week, which was my goal. Probably going to switch programs after that.

Not sure if I want to go for a standard block program, or go onto a homemade DUP program.

For how I train, I never have a set weight I want to hit each workout. I just base shit on how I feel whe I get under the bar.

So I track rep, set and 1rm numbers as Prs. Over a range of exercises. Makes it easier to track progress.

Listen to this user. More weight on the bar is actually called an "ALL-TIME PR", while anything else that's more than you've done before is just a PR.

Yo lads, some big PRs on todays session.

On the first working set, i unracked and reset the bark TWICE before i actually did the set, good shit and an important PR right there.

Then, on the second working set, i actually walked out with SIX steps ... definitely a huge PR coming from 3 steps.

Also some sick PRs on warmup, i did the bar for TEN reps instead of the usual 8 reps.
And on the second warm up set, i actually got 70kg x 6 in, PRed from 60kg x 6, fucking huge.

And i only started this new program yesterday!!! Insane!!

way to confirm you live life the same way mindless drug users do. we get it. you felt good when you hit pr's early in training, and now they're more infrequent, and you have to reframe your thinking in order to still "enjoy" lifting.

doing better on your triples than you did last week or even last month is fine, but not necessarily an indication of progress, so much as it is an indication of that week's fitness. If you're not a beginner, you should be hitting PR's in skills tests and meets only

Bench has plateaued at 75x5 for about 6 months now while every other lift has gone up. My OHP is almost the same as my bench (70x3) so something isnt right here.

I feel that, and I try to do that.

The main trouble I run into is that unlike in conventional where you just setup shins to bar, you don't do that in sumo, so seeing where to place your shins (the anchor point for me in setting up) is a lot harder and less consistent.

He should pull conventional and improve his lower body arch on the bench
